Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 244: Chapter 174: Assisting the Investigation, Farming Work (3)

The team from Dawn Base had already been searching for over two hours near the coordinates provided by Xi’an Base.

”There’s not a soul in sight. What are we even looking for?” a team member complained.

”I heard a team from Xi’an Base went missing here!”

”What does their team going missing have to do with us? Why do we have to help?”

”I heard the higher-ups made some kind of deal with Xi’an Base. We just have to follow orders!”

”What’s there to complain about? Just coming out for a look-around counts as a mission, and we’ll get a reward when we get back. How great is that!”

”Look! What’s that on the water!” a team member suddenly shouted, pointing.

Everyone immediately looked in that direction. A corpse was floating there, chewed by fish beyond all recognition!

”Looks like our reward will be even bigger this time! Haul the body up!” the captain ordered in a grim voice.

”Yes, sir!”

Following the direction of the current, they continued their search and soon found several more bodies.

After hauling all the bodies aboard, the captain immediately reported to Jing Shu.

”Captain, we’ve found a total of six bodies. Based on their clothing, they must be the team that was coming to our base!”

The captain also sent over photos of the bodies.

Although the bodies had been chewed beyond recognition, the fatal wounds on their necks were still discernible.

”Excellent. Stay where you are and await my orders!” Jing Shu replied in a low voice.

”Yes, sir!”

Jing Shu immediately forwarded their findings to Bao Mu.

”These bodies were found near these coordinates. They were all killed with a single strike...” Jing Shu sent all the intel over.

After reading Jing Shu’s message, Bao Mu frowned and asked, ”Are there only these six bodies?”

”We’ve already searched the vicinity. There are indeed only these six,” Jing Shu replied.

”It seems that Evolver is still alive!” Bao Mu said, his eyes narrowing. ”Thank you for the information. Our team will deliver the one hundred Evolution Potions today!”

”Thank you!” Jing Shu responded happily. He had been genuinely worried that Xi’an Base would take its anger over the incident out on them.

Overjoyed, Jing Shu then thought of the bodies and asked, ”Do the bodies need to be brought back?”

”Dump them,” Bao Mu said coolly.

Jing Shu felt a chill, then replied, ”We’ll take care of it!”

After ending the chat, Bao Mu looked at the results the intelligence department had analyzed overnight and fell into deep thought.

After a long moment, he finally pointed to an area on the map and ordered, ”Arrange for three more speedboats to head to the vicinity of this Seventh-level Wind Sea Region.”

”Yes, sir!”

The Seventh-level Wind Sea Region Bao Mu had pointed to was precisely the sea region where Peach Blossom Base was located.

Independently, both Xi’an Base’s intelligence department and Bao Mu himself had ruled out the possibility of Peach Blossom Base being within the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region.

「Inside Peach Blossom Base.」

”Si Youqin, the leader wants you to arrange for two people to work at the livestock farm. Go ask the women on your side who is willing to go,” Lu Jiamei said, having found Si Youqin to pass on Ren Yuanyang’s order.

Si Youqin was stunned for a moment, then immediately nodded. ”Okay!”

She immediately gathered everyone on the yacht to announce the news.

”Is anyone willing to work at the livestock farm?” Si Youqin finally asked.

Everyone raised their hands at once.

Ever since the incident with the Evolution Potion test, they had all learned their lesson.

’As long as it’s a mission from the leader, you just have to go for it. He’ll definitely make it worth your while!’

Seeing everyone raise their hands, Si Youqin frowned slightly. ”The leader only needs two people this time, so let’s just pick the two with the best physical conditioning!”

Although they had all become Evolvers, there were still differences in their physical fitness.

Si Youqin picked two people and led them away, leaving the rest slightly disappointed.

”I should have worked out more before!”

”Yeah. People who were already in good shape become even stronger as Evolvers. I thought that physical gap would disappear after we all became Evolvers, but it’s still here, and it’s even more obvious!”

”What do you think they’ll be doing at the livestock farm?”

”It’s definitely not raising animals. That requires professional skills. They’ll most likely be doing support work!”

”Our base’s livestock farm only needs two people. It can’t be that big!”

”Of course it isn’t. You can tell from our food. Since we arrived, I think we’ve only had chicken twice. The rest of the time it’s just been fish. There’s no other kind of meat at all.”

”What? Are you complaining that our base doesn’t have enough variety in its meat?”

”Don’t twist my words! I was just making an observation! It’s already great that we can eat our fill, and on top of that, we have all kinds of vegetables to eat in rotation. I’m already more than satisfied!”

Si Youqin brought the two women before Lu Jiamei.

”Minister Lu, everyone was actually willing to work at the livestock farm. I could only choose the two in the best physical shape!” Si Youqin said, sounding a little helpless.

Lu Jiamei smiled. ”When the livestock farm expands in the future, we’ll probably need more people. Everyone will get a chance!”

Si Youqin nodded.

Lu Jiamei looked at the two women and continued, ”Your main tasks are feeding and cleaning.”

The two women immediately nodded.

”Feeding is once an hour. Cleaning should be done every three hours, five at the most!” Lu Jiamei continued.
