Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Buy herbsNot only could Lin Feng not find the boss of the previous weapon vendor, he couldn’t even find the shop of the advanced civilization that repaired his armor.

The entire Trading Floor was filled with vendors trading in stall form.

Could it be that this Trading Floor also has a hierarchy?

But none of that was important; since he couldn’t buy a laser gun, he would see if he could buy other things.

”Hey! Little brother, want some excellent medicinal herbs?”

A person dressed in a long robe suddenly came up to Lin Feng and whispered.

”What medicinal herbs?”

Lin Feng looked at the mysterious merchant in front of him and guessed that this merchant probably wanted to escape the stall fees or transaction taxes here.

”Hehe, I have whatever you want, as long as you can name it.”

The vendor chuckled and pulled Lin Feng to the side of the road.

Just then, a squad of patrolling Soldier walked by. Seeing this, the vendor quickly stopped what he was about to say and started chatting idly with Lin Feng instead.

After the patrolling Soldier left, the vendor opened his long robe, revealing it to be filled with various Chinese medicinal herbs.

”How about it? My strength is pretty good, right? Every single one of these medicinal herbs is at least a centennial.”

Lin Feng’s gaze immediately spotted the centennial ginseng and red lingzhi he needed.

If these medicinal herbs weren’t too expensive, Lin Feng planned to buy them all. After all, he wasn’t short on gold coins, and he might need some of these herbs to make things at some point.

However, Lin Feng decided to give this boss a bit of a warning first, so that bargaining would be easier later.

”Boss, it’s not that I’m saying your medicinal herbs are bad, but since there’s no official guarantee here, and I certainly won’t buy a small amount, what if I buy something bad or defective? Who would I go to?”

”You were probably hiding from those patrolling Soldier just now, weren’t you? You don’t want to be caught and fined by them, do you?”

Lin Feng chuckled, looking at the boss whose expression was gradually solidifying.

”Haha, brother, what are you talking about? How could my medicinal herbs be fake? They are all excellent herbs! If you don’t believe me, you can inspect them first. Besides, I’ve been doing business here for more than a day or two. If I didn’t have some ways to avoid these Soldier, how could I have survived until now?”

”Alright, then I’ll inspect the goods first. Give me a stalk of your centennial ginseng to look at.”

Lin Feng saw that the boss wasn’t afraid of his threat and didn’t care. After all, these old hands who had been frequenting the Trading Floor for years understood the rules here much better than he did.

He had just found out that the Trading Floor also had a hierarchy, hadn’t he?

”Here.”

The boss reached into his long robe, fumbled around for a moment, then snapped off a piece of ginseng root and handed it to Lin Feng.

Lin Feng naturally didn’t have the ability to identify medicinal herbs, so he had to use some technological power.

After putting on his armor, Lin Feng directly had Big Black scan the ginseng.

”Scan complete. Item name: Ginseng. Main components: Ginsenosides, glucose, fructose, sucrose, various vitamins, various amino acids...”

”Stop. Can you analyze its age?”

”Mr. Lin, based on my current information reserves, its age can be analyzed to be approximately 130 years.”

”Hmm, that’s enough.”

Lin Feng nodded, then retracted his helmet and said to the boss.

”Do you have any Ganchong Huang?”

”Ganchong Huang? I don’t have that kind of low-end medicinal herb. After all, I don’t have a stall here, and I can only carry so many herbs, so naturally I bring valuable ones.”

After the boss finished speaking, he looked at Lin Feng’s high-tech equipment, his eyes darting. He thought that making a good connection with someone from an advanced civilization couldn’t hurt, so he proactively pointed the way for Lin Feng.

”Brother, you go straight from here, turn right at the first intersection, and walk another three hundred meters or so, and you’ll see a medicinal herb stall. He has all kinds of varieties.”

”Of course, the quality definitely won’t be as high as mine.”

”I see. How many medicinal herbs do you have on you?”

”Ten centennial ginseng, five red lingzhi, five centennial Fleeceflower Root, one catty of Cordyceps, three centennial snow lotuses. That’s all I have for now. Do you want them all, boss?”

”Yes, give them all to me.”

Lin Feng nodded faintly.

”Alright then, I’ll give you a discount. It’s 75 gold coins in total.”

”I’ll give you 70 gold coins at most. Do you want it or not?”

”Haha, that small change, I would have rounded it off for you even if you didn’t say anything.”

The boss said with a grin, then looked around and took the gold coins Lin Feng handed over.

After weighing them in his hand, he put them directly into his pocket.

”Aren’t you going to count them?”

”Hehe, you can tell at a glance that you’re not short on money. We businessmen value integrity, don’t we?”

Lin Feng chuckled at the remark. These businessmen really had a way with words.

He was too lazy to argue with him further, so he waved his hand and left, arriving at the medicinal herb shop he had pointed out.

The owner of this medicinal herb shop was a scrawny old man, who looked to be sixty or seventy years old. However, there were no customers outside the shop. At this moment, the old man was lying on a chair, squinting and drinking tea, looking very leisurely.

”Buying medicine?”

After Lin Feng walked up, the old man slightly opened his eyes, his purple clay pot still in his hand, showing no sign of greeting a customer.

”Yes.”

Lin Feng nodded slightly.

”You’re too late. Come another day. All the medicinal herbs I brought are sold out.”

”Then do you have Ganchong Huang?”

Lin Feng frowned upon hearing this. Surely, even Ganchong Huang wasn’t gone, was it?

”Ganchong Huang? It seems... I still have some. How much do you want?”

The old man sat up, still holding the purple clay pot in his hand.

”However much you have, I’ll take it.”

After Lin Feng finished speaking, the old man finally reluctantly put down his teapot. He stood up and swayed unsteadily to the rows of cabinets behind him, finally pulling open a small drawer.

”This is all there is. Give me one gold coin.”

The old man weighed it in his hand, then directly tossed it to Lin Feng.

”That cheap?”

Lin Feng took the Ganchong Huang that was thrown to him; it should weigh two or three catties.

He didn’t expect it to only cost him one gold coin.

After paying, Lin Feng didn’t linger there. It was still early, so he might as well continue to look around this place.

Just then, a rich aroma wafted into Lin Feng’s nose.

Even the Little Velociraptor was attracted by the aroma, biting Lin Feng’s pant leg and walking forward.

Soon, Lin Feng saw a noodle stall.

Mighty Beef Noodles.

”Awoo!”

”Want to eat?”

Lin Feng looked at the drooling Little Velociraptor in front of him and suddenly felt like laughing.

”Alright, you haven’t eaten ramen before either, so I’ll take you to try it.”
