After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1896: Chapter 1900: My Most Treasured Collection

The two of them walked out of the room one after the other, and the doctor and maid standing outside looked at them with a hint of doubt in their eyes.

”Tidy up the room, and also, escort the doctor out,” Luo Ke loudly instructed everyone, intentionally showing Luo Xiaoqian his sincere intention not to disturb her child anymore.

Everyone immediately set to work, while Luo Ke led Luo Xiaoqian to the third floor.

As they walked, he continued to introduce the situation of the castle to her.

Luo Ke stopped in front of a painting hanging in the corridor on the third floor, it was a vertical oil painting depicting a large ship braving waves at sea.

”This is...”

”The Storm on the Sea of Galilee?” Luo Xiaoqian asked curiously, looking at the painting on the wall.

”You recognize it?” Luo Ke’s eyes showed slight surprise.

”I saw it in a picture book when I was young, and I heard from my father that this painting was previously housed in the Boston Museum. At that time, 13 famous paintings were stolen, and this was one of them.” Luo Xiaoqian took a step back, squinting at the oil painting on the wall, ”Rembrandt was very sensitive to the use of light, you see these reflections and the light and shadows here... if a counterfeit can achieve this level, then if it’s genuine...”

Luo Ke laughed, his emerald green eyes carrying a faint pride, ”This is genuine!”

Luo Xiaoqian turned her face in astonishment to look at him. His expression, though proud, was very calm, not appearing to be lying.

”Really?”

Luo Ke turned his face, meeting her scrutinizing gaze, ”I never like to collect counterfeits. Everything in this castle is genuine, whether it’s paintings or artworks, including that lamp you broke earlier... they’re all real.”

Luo Xiaoqian withdrew her gaze, pursing her lips.

That lamp should have been a cloisonné enamel lamp from the Qing era; she originally thought it was just a replica and didn’t feel the slightest distress when she broke it.

Now, hearing him say they’re all genuine, she couldn’t help but feel a bit odd.

You know, the value of antiques lies not only in how much they are worth but more in their uniqueness. Once broken, they can never be replaced or replicated.

”It doesn’t matter; compared to you, those are nothing.” Luo Ke turned and continued forward, ”These are just some ordinary collections. In a few days, I will take you to a place to see my most treasured collection.”

In a few days?

Is he going to take her away from here?!

”Where?” Luo Xiaoqian asked curiously.

Luo Ke turned to look at her, ”You’ll find out then. You were born by the sea, and I think you’ll like it there very much.”

Luo Xiaoqian thought for a moment and tentatively asked, ”By the sea?”

”More or less.” Luo Ke smiled at her, ”Are you looking forward to it?”

Luo Xiaoqian pursed her lips; she definitely wasn’t looking forward to it. She was in Rome now; it would be easier for Leng Zimo to find her if he tracked her watch. If he took her away from here, it would be even harder for Leng Zimo to save her.

”Let’s go down for a walk.” Seeing her mood was somewhat displeased, Luo Ke didn’t continue the topic but led her down a spiral staircase on the other side of the castle, out through a side door.

By this time, it was already dusk, and outside the castle, the expansive grassland was bathed in golden light by the setting sun. The lake beneath the castle, shimmering with waves, reflected the evening glow, appearing exceptionally beautiful.
