After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1889: Chapter 1893: Tomorrow Night... Nine O’Clock

”It doesn’t matter anymore. Our relationship is already bad and can’t get any worse.”

Jiao Yalin shrugged, stuffing the passport and ticket in his pocket. ”Yang Yang, promise me, try to shift your focus away from Luo Xiaoqian and look at other people. I believe you’ll discover another equally wonderful world.”

Looking at his mother in front of him, Jiao Yang caught sight of a white hair at her temple and raised his hand to embrace her.

”Mom, I promise you.”

”Good child.”

Jiao Yalin lifted her hand and gently patted his back with care. ”Remember the flight time, don’t be late.”

”Okay.” Jiao Yang released his arms from around her.

”In the future, remember to protect yourself well. Mother’s marriage was a failure, and I hope to see you have a different ending. As for him...” Jiao Yalin paused, ”Actually... he still cares about you. No matter what, he is your father, don’t hate him.”

This ”he” was naturally Jiao Yang’s father, the Duke of Kent.

Even though the Duke of Kent had betrayed her, Jiao Yalin still hoped Jiao Yang wouldn’t hate that man. After all, he is his father.

The Duke of Kent arranged a marriage for him, and even decided in secret to prepare to bestow the title of Duke on Jiao Yang, all proving the Duke’s concern for him.

Jiao Yang nodded, ”I understand.”

Smoothing a crease on the front of his T-shirt for him, ”I’m heading out first.”

Jiao Yalin walked out of Jiao Yang’s room, just as the Duke of Kent was coming up from downstairs. The couple met in the hallway, Jiao Yalin glanced at him and was about to leave.

”I want to talk to you,” the Duke of Kent suddenly spoke.

Jiao Yalin stopped in her tracks and looked at him, ”What’s there left to talk about between us?!”

The Duke of Kent glanced at Jiao Yang’s room in the distance, ”Let’s speak in the study.”

He stepped towards the study, Jiao Yalin hesitated for a moment but followed him after all.

Entering the study, the Duke of Kent closed the door behind them and then began, ”If you help him, you’ll be harming him.”

”I don’t understand what you mean,” Jiao Yalin said flatly.

”Do you know who Leng Zimo has gotten involved with?” The Duke of Kent’s tone was deep. ”I’ve investigated thoroughly. The other party is a formidable character in Europe, and now, Luo Xiaoqian is still in his hands.”

”What?!” Jiao Yalin was startled, ”Are you sure?”

”Leng Zimo hurriedly left the hospital earlier because Luo Xiaoqian had already been grabbed by the other party,” the Duke of Kent turned his face, his brown eyes looking deeply into hers. ”If he really intervenes in this matter, perhaps we might truly lose him!”

Jiao Yalin stood frozen in place, unaware that the situation was this complex.

This time, Jiao Yang’s troubles were because of Luo Xiaoqian. If she really let him go, and he got involved again in this matter, the danger would naturally be unspeakable.

What to do?

Jiao Yalin was also caught in a dilemma. As a mother, she wished Jiao Yang could have the freedom—freedom to choose his love and marriage.

But if such freedom comes at the cost of life, then the price is undoubtedly too high.

”What time is his ticket?!” the Duke of Kent asked.

Jiao Yalin frowned at him, ”Tomorrow night... nine o’clock!”

This time, she almost lost her son, and she couldn’t let Jiao Yang take the risk again.
