After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1550: Chapter 1554: Men Are All Talk

”Oh, is that so? I’ll go look for it again.” Leng Zirui replied casually.

”Okay, Xu Xia’s leg is no big deal, right?!” Lan Zi asked on the other end of the line.

”No worries, nothing to be concerned about. Sorry for bothering you so late.”

”It’s alright, after all, I’m Xu Xia’s personal nanny, aren’t I?” Lan Zi chuckled on the other end, ”If anything comes up, just call me anytime.”

After expressing his thanks, Leng Zirui hung up the phone, deleted the call log, and put the phone back in its place. He returned to Xu Xia’s bedroom.

Xu Xia, lying on the pillow, was sleeping deeply, without even changing her position.

Moving quietly to her side, Leng Zirui glanced at her small face and sat down beside her.

The corners of his lips lifted gently, his face full of irrepressible joy.

He initially thought this girl wasn’t interested in him, but it turned out she was just like him, hesitant to admit it.

No wonder she seemed off every time he saw her these past few days; she must have been struggling with the same dilemma as him, right?!

Recollecting the things she had said, he felt a slight ache in his heart.

Who would have thought that a girl like her could also feel inferior?

Not good enough for him?!

Was he really that great?!

In her sleep, Xu Xia frowned slightly, then turned over to her side. Leng Zirui quickly grabbed her arm, turning her back, and repositioned her feet on the pillow.

Glancing at the time, it was nearly three hours past. Leng Zirui turned to leave the room, grabbed some medicinal oil, and carefully applied it to her again. Worried about disturbing her sleep, he didn’t massage her.

Thanks to his meticulous care, her ankle had yet to show signs of swelling. Based on his experience, as long as he looked after her well tonight, there shouldn’t be any issues.

He stood up and turned off the main lights, then sat down by her side.

The bedroom dimmed with only a faint glow; he sat quietly by her side, watching over her.

Whenever he noticed she might turn over, he promptly stopped her, carefully repositioning her feet each time, applying the ointment every three hours.

And so he kept vigil the whole night.

When Xu Xia woke up, it was already eight in the morning.

Opening her eyes, she gazed at the ceiling, stretched her arms lazily, and, thinking of Leng Zirui, hurriedly propped herself up.

Although the apartment was a two-bedroom, the other room had been converted into a studio, so where did that guy sleep last night?!

Moving to the edge of the bed, she stood up on one leg, hopping to the door and pulling it open to survey the living room.

The sofa was spotless, the living room silently empty, not a person in sight.

”Leng Zirui?!”

Xu Xia called out his name loudly, calling several times, but there was no response.

Had he left last night?!

What about his claim of 24-hour surveillance; gone so quickly without a trace?

Men with sweet words are all unreliable.

Xu Xia pouted, hopping back to her room, after a quick wash, she returned to the living room, sat on the sofa, and spotted snacks on the table, casually grabbing a package to open.

When her parents were alive, Xu Xia lived at home, essentially living a life where food was served to her; after her parents passed, she was busy with work, eating out most of the time, and just making do at home occasionally, no exception today.

Just as she was about to take a bite of the cookie she pinched from the bag, her ears caught the sound of the door opening.
