After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1533: Chapter 1537: Trying to Run Like Bus 11 at 100 Miles per Hour

Anyway, the kindergarten wasn’t far from here, she could walk over in time.

”Xu Xia!”

Lan Zi urgently stopped her, but Xu Xia had already crossed the lane and walked onto the sidewalk.

Rushing forward, Xu Xia glanced at the time. It was already 9:10, and the performance would start in 20 minutes.

Xu Xia quickened her pace, seeing she was nearing the kindergarten. As the green light at the intersection had its last ten seconds, Xu Xia immediately broke into a run.

Beep!

A car turning right suddenly sped towards her.

Xu Xia was startled, spun around in panic, and the car barely stopped half a meter in front of her.

Worried about the time, Xu Xia raised her hand, flipped off the driver with her middle finger, and, without looking at the car, immediately sprinted onto the sidewalk.

”Xu Xia?!”

Leng Zirui saw it was her, initially shocked, then almost amused.

This person could dash around with that mess whether driving or walking?!

He turned his car right to catch up with her, stopped beside her, and called her name, ”Get in!”

”Leng Zirui?!” Xu Xia turned her head, seeing it was him, and immediately, with surprise, got into his car, ”Why are you only arriving now?”

”What’s the rush, going 100 mph on foot?!” Leng Zirui spoke with a hint of exasperation, ”What a close call! If it had been someone else, you’d be nursing a fracture!”

”Was that you just now?!” Xu Xia was momentarily stunned, looking closely at his car. ”Never mind, my car was stuck over there. I was worried about being late, disappointing Luo Jun. The little guy’s first performance with his parents, and I, as the godmother, can’t be late. It’s all because I came back too late last night and couldn’t get up this morning. Should’ve just stayed awake!”

Leng Zirui glanced at her side, capturing her bloodshot eyes, swallowed the words of blame, and drove into the kindergarten parking lot. He handed over breakfast from the back seat, ”Here, eat this!”

Seeing her rush over so anxiously, she must not have had breakfast.

”How’d you know I haven’t eaten?!” Xu Xia unceremoniously grabbed it, opened it, and took a bite of the burger, ”By the way... was this for yourself?”

Leng Zirui shrugged, lied smoothly, ”I ate already. Bought too much and couldn’t finish it, lucky for you.”

”Then I won’t hold back!” Xu Xia laughed, pushed open the door, and got out of the car.

Ah Jiu saw them and immediately came forward to greet them, ”Sir and Madam have already gone in, you two head straight to the auditorium!”

”Oh, it’s about to start, hurry!”

Xu Xia glanced at her watch, promptly grabbed Leng Zirui’s wrist, dragging him towards the auditorium.

Explaining their purpose to the security at the door, they were quickly allowed through. The performance had already started in the auditorium, lights on the stage, the rest of the auditorium was dim.

When descending the stairs, Xu Xia slipped, and Leng Zirui quickly reached out an arm to steady her.

”Be careful, will you?!”

Only worried she’d get into more trouble, Leng Zirui supported her arm with one hand and wrapped his other arm around her waist, guiding her down the steps.

The auditorium was dim, and they couldn’t see where others were seated. Wandering might disrupt the performance, so they simply sat in the empty seats in the back row.

It wasn’t yet Luo Jun’s turn to perform, so Xu Xia looked at the unfamiliar kids on stage and dug into her food.

”Have some water; careful not to choke!”

Seeing her wolfing down food, Leng Zirui quickly handed over a drink.
