After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1548: Chapter 1552: I Love Watching Horror Movies the Most

”Not interesting, change it!” Xu Xia said casually.

Lan Zi had told her that this was the uncut version, with plenty of passionate scenes, totally unsuitable to watch right now.

The second one turned out to be ”Brokeback Mountain,” so Xu Xia switched it again.

The third, damn it, was ”Lust, Caution.”

Lan Zi, are you trying to get me killed?!

Xu Xia switched again. The fourth movie was finally unrelated to romance; it was a horror film. Xu Xia breathed a sigh of relief.

There shouldn’t be any suggestive scenes in a horror movie, right?!

”All that lovey-dovey stuff is boring, I love horror movies the most, what about you?”

”I... don’t really care.” Leng Zirui shrugged.

Xu Xia casually grabbed a bag of chips from the snack box, leaned lazily on the sofa, and started watching the movie.

It was a Japanese movie, and Japanese people are always skilled at making horror films. Watching those eerie scenes on the screen, Xu Xia just felt a chill down her spine.

Glancing sideways at Xu Xia, Leng Zirui gently reminded her, ”If you’re scared, don’t watch it.”

”You just don’t get it, the more you watch horror movies, the scarier they get, and the scarier they get, the more you want to watch them!” Xu Xia retorted.

The movie got scarier as it progressed. Xu Xia was too spooked to eat chips; she subconsciously leaned towards Leng Zirui. Seeing that hand reaching out from the screen, she shuddered and threw herself into his embrace, covering her ears with her hands.

”I told you if you’re scared, don’t watch it!” Leng Zirui said with a helpless smile, holding her in his arms. ”Should I turn it off for you?!”

”Don’t turn it off, don’t turn it off, I haven’t seen the ending yet; I’ll not sleep well if I don’t know the result. Wait until these scenes pass, then tell me!” Xu Xia said from his embrace.

Her face was right next to his, and he could clearly feel the faint lemon scent from her hair. This girl, who was always so bold and assertive, showed this delicate and dependent side for the first time. Instinctively, he tightened his arm, and his hand lifted to gently hold her head.

”Okay, I’ll tell you in a bit!”

The movie continued, and the scary scenes soon passed.

”Have they passed?” Xu Xia asked in his arms.

Leng Zirui glanced at the now more vibrant screen, ”No!”

A while later.

”Have they passed?!” Xu Xia asked again.

”No!” he replied, holding her.

In his arms, Xu Xia’s attention drifted from the movie to him. His chest was firm, possessing a reassuring solidity.

She wondered which woman might have the right to enjoy this comfort forever.

Quietly, she reached out, wrapped her hand around his neck, and rested her face against his neck.

At this moment, she (he) only hoped this horror movie would never end, so she (he) would have enough reason to stay embraced like this.

Unfortunately, the movie eventually ends.

When the horror movie finished, the DVD automatically switched to the first film, showing a man and a woman embracing in the narrow aisle of a train...

With warm jade in his arms, watching such a scene, any normal man would have instinctive associations.

Leng Zirui looked away, ”It’s over!”

Xu Xia, with her eyelids drooping, didn’t move in his arms. Having slept only three hours last night, she was already very tired, and before she knew it, she fell asleep in his arms.

From the speakers, came the heavy breathing of a man and a woman.

The scene was too intense; he didn’t dare to watch. Leng Zirui picked up the remote control and turned off the movie, then stood up from the sofa holding her, and placed her gently on the bedroom bed.
