After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 994: Chapter 998: Then am I an illegitimate child?

”President Leng!” Xu Xia stammered, ”I...”

Luo Xiaoqian noticed her panic and quickly helped her out, ”Xu Xia and I have known each other for a long time!”

”Ah, yes, we’ve known each other for a long time,” Xu Xia hurriedly echoed, looking apologetically at Luo Xiaoqian.

”Mo Mo, Aunt Xu Xia bought you a grand piano. Go upstairs and try it out. The sound quality is excellent!”

”Really?!” Luo Jun was pleasantly surprised.

”Yes, come on, Aunt will take you to have a look,” Xu Xia quickly walked over, took the little one’s hand and led him upstairs.

Leng Zimo carefully maneuvered through the piles of toys in the living room, ”I didn’t expect you two to be good friends.”

”Back when I was still pregnant, she kept insisting on being Mo Mo’s godmother. We haven’t seen each other for a few years, and when we met at the company yesterday, she said she wanted to fulfill her duties as a godmother properly. I didn’t expect that she would bring an entire toy store today.” Luo Xiaoqian walked over to support his arm, ”You’ve been working all day, you must be tired. Sit on the sofa and rest for a while. I’ll go and make dinner for you.”

Leng Zimo shrugged his shoulders, ”I only had a meeting and just talked a bit, as usual, I’ll do the cooking, you just be my assistant.”

”Thank you!” Luo Xiaoqian didn’t refuse and walked into the kitchen with him to start cooking.

Xu Xia, being so impetuous, brought over a truckload of gifts. If Luo Xiaoqian didn’t provide a reasonable explanation, how could Leng Zimo believe it? She had no choice but to tell him that she and Xu Xia had known each other before.

Leng Zimo also knew Xu Xia’s personality; she was the type who would do anything for her friends. Buying a truckload of gifts to compensate Luo Jun wasn’t something too surprising.

Everyone has friends or confidants, and it wasn’t impossible for Luo Xiaoqian to know Xu Xia, although it was somewhat coincidental. Besides, Leng Zimo never doubted her, so naturally, he didn’t think much of it.

While Leng Zimo was watching the soup on the stove in the kitchen, Luo Xiaoqian found an excuse to go upstairs, quietly found Xu Xia, reminded her a few times, and then called her, Mo Mo, and John downstairs for dinner.

A few of them gathered around the table to eat, and Luo Jun asked Xu Xia again about his father.

”Aunt Xu, what does my dad look like?”

After all, she was the first person besides Luo Xiaoqian to mention his father in front of him, so naturally, Luo Jun wanted to know more about his father.

”He...” Xu Xia chewed the rice in her mouth, ”Did you see Uncle Zimo? Your dad is just as handsome as he is.”

The little guy glanced at Leng Zimo eating, wearing a suddenly enlightened expression, ”I see, no wonder Uncle Shen and the others say I look like Uncle Zimo.”

”Yes, so when you grow up, you’ll definitely be as handsome as Uncle Zimo,” Xu Xia said with a smile.

”You must have been there when my mom and dad got married, right?” Luo Jun asked again.

”...” Xu Xia was at a loss for words, not knowing how to respond.

Luo Xiaoqian reached over and patted the little one’s shoulder, ”Mo Mo, actually, your dad and I didn’t have a wedding.”

Luo Jun blinked, ”Does that mean I’m an illegitimate child?”

Upon hearing the term ’illegitimate child,’ Luo Xiaoqian frowned in confusion, ”Who told you that?!”

Such a term, he couldn’t possibly have known.
