After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 977: Chapter 981: Advancing to the Rank of Senior Foodie

Carefully saving the number into her current phone, Luo Xiaoqian put the card into her bag, stood up, and walked out of the office. There were still some other tasks she needed to handle. She promised to cook for Leng Zimo in the evening, so after finishing her work, she wanted to go back early to prepare.

By the time Luo Xiaoqian had dealt with all her work, it was already past two o’clock in the afternoon. She instructed her subordinates who traveled with her to leave work first and go home. She then drove back to the villa community. From afar, she saw an empty supermarket by the roadside and immediately pulled over to head straight into the supermarket.

She picked and chose, and quickly, a shopping cart was filled to the brim by her.

”Fish? Fish and shrimp can cause inflammation and heat, no way. Zimo’s hand is injured, he can’t eat that... ribs, let’s buy ribs... and some beef...”

After choosing a piece of beef to stew, she caught sight of steaks on the refrigerated shelf. Her heart was moved, and she placed the shopping cart to one side, walked over, and began choosing.

There were several kinds of beef for steak on the shelf, and Luo Xiaoqian found herself in a bit of a dilemma. While she could cook now, her skills were just average. Looking at the multiple types of steak, she wasn’t sure which one would be better to choose.

”Marbled beef is tender if you like it chewy, you can try T-bones...”

A pleasant male voice sounded from behind.

Luo Xiaoqian straightened up in confusion and turned her face, looking at Jiao Yang standing with a light gray casual outfit on. She was surprised.

”Jiao Yang?!”

”Xiao Qian?!” Jiao Yang looked at her, equally surprised, ”What are you doing here?!”

”Just passing by, buying something.” Luo Xiaoqian replied casually, ”I didn’t expect you to know about steaks?”

”A true foodie not only has to know how to eat but also how to cook!” Jiao Yang gestured with his chin at his shopping cart, ”I’ve now advanced to the level of a high-level foodie!”

Luo Xiaoqian glanced at his shopping cart, looking at the ingredients and seasonings inside, and her lips slightly curved up, ”I didn’t expect it. I remember back then you turned eggs into explosions...”

As she said this, she suddenly felt a bit awkward.

Five years ago, it was when Jiao Yang used the microwave to turn eggs into explosions, that she and Leng Zimo had a misunderstanding. Later, she was kidnapped by bad guys arranged by Lu Hao, and she escaped desperately, got injured, and was found by him and taken home.

Compared to Luo Xiaoqian’s awkwardness, Jiao Yang merely shrugged indifferently and smiled warmly.

”When you have time, come and try my cooking?!”

It was the first time in Jiao Yang’s life cooking an egg, and it was for her, but it failed.

It was also the first time Jiao Yang confessed to a woman, to her, but it also ended in failure.

Jiao Yang wasn’t someone who liked to fail, and in these five years, he had learned a lot.

For example, cooking.

His invitation was entirely in a friendly manner; she couldn’t possibly refuse outright.

”Sure, if there’s a chance!”

She answered with a smile. After five years in the business world, she had now learned how to refuse tactfully.

”Then... next weekend?”

The smile on his face was so bright that it made it hard to refuse. Luo Xiaoqian lowered her eyes.

”Next weekend might not work; I’m quite busy lately!”

”Alright then, call me when you have time. My number is still the same as five years ago!” Jiao Yang raised his hand and took a piece of beef rib from the topmost layer, handing it to her, ”This piece is very fresh; it should taste good. Your husband will definitely like it!”

”Thank you!” Luo Xiaoqian thanked him politely.

Jiao Yang just shrugged, ”It’s no trouble at all.”

The two of them pushed their shopping carts away, neither noticing paparazzi stealthily snapping pictures from behind a distant shelf.
