After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 971: Chapter 975: Stop Using That Poker Face to Intimidate Me

During these five years, Luo Xiaoqian naturally couldn’t help but keep an eye on her good friend Xu Xia, knowing she’s now a top domestic A-list star. Wherever Chinese people were, she had immense fame, and Xu Xia’s voice was grand, fully possessing international appeal.

This time, she collaborated with EM, aiming to push Xu Xia into the spotlight.

This was Leng Zimo’s idea, and it was hers too.

Now, since her identity was already exposed, it was time for her to finally meet this long-time friend.

Walking into her office, Luo Xiaoqian sat behind her desk, pulling out the information Mike had previously given her. Looking at the delicate profile of Xu Xia in the photo, she couldn’t help but feel emotional.

Five years have passed, how much has this girl changed?!

At nine o’clock, a group stepped out of the elevator, led by a person with a tall stature. She wasn’t wearing anything too fancy, just a simple T-shirt and jeans, street-style shoes that clearly weren’t new, with a few places where the paint had chipped off on the tips, enough to prove how restless the shoe-wearer was.

The large sunglasses almost covered most of her face, and from her unpainted lips protruded a plastic lollipop stick.

”Xu Xia!”

Agent Lan Zi helplessly grabbed her arm, reaching out her right hand to her.

Xu Xia smiled and halted, lowering her sunglasses to glance at Lan Zi’s face.

”Sister Lan, what’s up?!”

”Don’t play dumb!” Lan Zi pouted, ”Give me the candy!”

This time, they came here to discuss matters regarding collaboration. President Leng had especially instructed that this collaboration partner was very important, and they must be on time, showing utmost respect.

Lan Zi clearly understood that if this collaboration went well, it could elevate Xu Xia’s singing career to a new level, possibly helping her break into the Europe and America markets. With Leng Zimo’s instructions, Lan Zi dared not slack off in the slightest, and she certainly wouldn’t allow Xu Xia to show such disrespectful behavior.

Xu Xia chuckled, ”I just put it in my mouth, it’d be such a waste to throw it away. A couple more sucks, I promise, once we’re inside I’ll toss it.”

”Ahem!” Lan Zi’s hand remained in the air, ”President Leng specifically said, with this client, we have to be very respectful, very polite, very punctual.”

”Don’t try to pressure me with that poker face!” Xu Xia pushed her sunglasses back in place, lifting her right hand adorned with a rugged bracelet to pull the lollipop out of her mouth, ”I’m not afraid of him!”

She took one last reluctant bite of the lollipop before throwing the rest into the trash can. An assistant was already by her side, handing her damp wipes. Xu Xia carefully cleaned her fingers, placed her hands in her pockets, and whistled while chewing on the candy.

”Is that good enough now?!”

”Let’s go!”

Lan Zi looked at her impish demeanor, only slightly exasperated.

It’s said that changes are hard with someone’s core nature. Even though she was now a top-tier star, Xu Xia’s personality hadn’t much changed from five years ago and didn’t give particular attention to her image because of her status, still doing as she pleased.

The fact that she was willing to throw away the candy was already a big gesture of respect to Leng Zimo.

A group of people walked up to the entrance of the L&L planning company, and the receptionist immediately greeted them courteously.

”Miss Xu Xia, right? Please come in!”
