Chapter 1187: Chapter 249 Emperor Body Rises (Magical Second Update)

The wizard, who knew Zheng Qing, took two steps forward, arriving next to the warlock. He bent down, scrutinizing the young cost student closely.

It was Assistant Hilda; seeing those bright bronze pins and rings on his face, Zheng Qing felt much more relieved.

”You should be put in a restraining outfit by Old Yao and locked in Black Prison,” Mr. Assistant muttered, grabbing the warlock’s shoulder to help him up, ”instead of letting a bomb run wild... The trouble you’ve caused in one semester is more than I’ve seen in my entire life!”

Zheng Qing always felt that there was too much envy in Hilda’s complaint.

”I didn’t want this,” the boy replied dryly.

Other workers and assistants dispersed around, being vigilant while also looking for any clues. An elder school worker in a grey robe walked over to Hilda, took a deep look at Zheng Qing, and raised his finger.

Li Meng softly floated into the air, stopping in front of the wizards. Zheng Qing noticed a strand of withered grass hanging from her temples, probably left from clearing the bushes.

The old school worker placed his finger on Li Meng’s wrist, and after a few seconds, he nodded: ”No danger.”

Zheng Qing thought he heard a collective sigh of relief around him. Of course, this could just be his imagination, since the expression on the face of the old school worker in front of him never changed.

”Same old rules, fill out an incident report,” Hilda skillfully pulled out a notepad from his waist, then shoved a feather pen into Zheng Qing’s hand: ”Just write down everything you’ve just said... and sign at the end.”

”I know,” Zheng Qing muttered silently, taking the notepad and feather pen.

”Huh?” The old school worker examining Li Meng suddenly uttered a sound of mild doubt, pulling out his Bamboo Slip Law Book from his waist. Under the moonlight, the bamboo slip emitted a misty green hue, unclear if it was the reflection from the varnish or the glow from the spells the book carried.

”What’s wrong?” Hilda’s voice tensed up.

”No, no, nothing’s wrong,” the elder wizard immediately shook his head: ”It’s just that her condition seems a bit peculiar; there are no traces of magic spell injuries... It’s as if she’s just asleep?”

Crouching in the mud writing the report, Zheng Qing let out a short and harsh laugh, like a fooled baboon, feeling he was the most unfortunate part of the ordeal.

So, one should know their limits, and never meddle more than necessary.

The wizards surrounding Li Meng paid no attention to the complex feelings of the warlock writing on the ground. The elder wizard who was checking Li Meng opened his Bamboo Slip Law Book and chanted softly:

”Be ever honorable and respectful;”

”Extend it with all blessings, and preserve it always;”

”Receive blessings from heaven, protect the right destiny;”

”With the rise of a clandestine aura, Emperor Body Rises!”

The first three spells were blessing magic, normally even a severely bleeding wizard could endure until a more professional therapist arrived with the help of these spells, not to mention a little witch who was merely ’asleep’.

The fourth spell, however, was a very simple Sobriety Spell, often used by students when getting up in the morning.

As expected, as soon as the light from the fourth spell touched Li Meng, the little witch sat up, rubbing her eyes.

”What time is it?” she yawned, stretched lazily, and even reached out to grab at the air next to her, as if trying to grasp an imaginary teddy bear, while muttering, ”Let me sleep a little longer...”

A few wizards looked at her with an expression that was a mix of amusement and frustration.

Zheng Qing also climbed up from the muddy ground.

”It’s 8:46 PM,” the warlock immediately answered, and then asked, ”Do you remember what happened before?”

He originally stretched out a finger, intending to poke the drowsy little witch, but he abstained from this risky move under Hilda’s warning gaze. Yet before he could retract his finger, the little witch grabbed it in her palm.

”Where is this?” Li Meng seemed to only then notice the unfamiliar surroundings and people, looking around and realizing she only knew Zheng Qing and Hilda, she paused briefly before asking softly, ”What happened?”

Zheng Qing was tempted to pull his finger back, but seeing Li Meng’s anxious expression, he eventually chose not to.

”Why did you faint in the woods? Who called you here? What did you see before you fainted?” Zheng Qing bombarded the little witch with a series of questions, leaving her looking even more bewildered.

At this point, other wizards in grey and black robes maintained their silence, letting the two young wizards communicate, as it seemed the little witch trusted Zheng Qing slightly more, evident from her gripping his finger continuously.

”Fainted? In the woods?” Li Meng looked around bewilderedly, her tone as confused as Zheng Qing’s, ”I fainted again? I remember I was just doing my homework for the Curse Course... Old Yao assigned too much homework today, I was almost falling asleep while writing it, how did I come to the woods, and why can’t I remember?”

”Do you often faint?” the old groundskeeper, who had been checking the little witch’s condition, asked in a serious tone. He noticed that Li Meng had just used the word ”again.”

This time, Zheng Qing answered for Li Meng.

”She hasn’t been fainting a lot recently, but at the beginning of last semester, she often did,” Zheng Qing recounted, counting on his fingers, ”I remember she fainted once during Old Yao’s class, once at the Wandering Bar, and once in the Hundred Herb Gardens... However, the situations were never serious, and she would quickly regain consciousness.”

Assistant Hilda leaned close to the elder wizard and whispered a few words in his ear; Zheng Qing faintly heard the words ”Spirit Witch.”

Other wizards examining the surroundings came back in succession and reported their findings to Hilda and the old groundskeeper. In a moment, the small clearing seemed crowded and noisy.

The old groundskeeper didn’t waste much time; with a wave of his hand, he delegated the task of compiling the report to Hilda, ”You’re in charge of the rest of the summary work. I’ll take this little one to the campus hospital for a safety check... Do you know her relatives? Anyone at school?”

The last two questions were directed at Zheng Qing.

The young funded student immediately nodded eagerly, ”Li Meng’s cousin is also at Jiuyou Academy, in the same class as us, Astronomy Class 08-1, and the class advisor is Professor Yao.”

Li Meng’s grip on Zheng Qing’s finger suddenly tightened, a nervous expression appearing on her face. Clearly, Jiang Yu’s intimidation was the greatest under any circumstances.

The old groundskeeper nodded slightly, ”I will notify Old Yao... If it’s convenient, you should also inform her cousin. Ask her to go directly to the campus hospital.”

Saying this, he lightly shook the Bamboo Slip Law Book in his hand.

The little witch, who had been floating midair, slowly drifted forward with the swaying of the bamboo slip.

Finally, Li Meng let go of Zheng Qing’s finger, her face fell solemn and she collapsed back into the air, resuming her upside-down position with limbs splayed out, letting the elder wizard lead her towards the campus hospital.

Zheng Qing made a helpless gesture toward her retreating figure.
