Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1080: Chapter 1081: Coming Up to Ask for Medicine

He really felt that there was a scent here that he had smelled before, and it had made quite an impression at the time.

But he just couldn’t remember where he had smelled it.

Chiang Xiao hadn’t figured out any possibilities either.

With this tea, Chen Baoshen truly felt delighted, and he agreed to everything Old Meng asked of him next.

They set a time and reason for the visit, and someone came looking for Chen Baoshen.

”Some doctors from Province X rushed here, saying they would like to ask Mr. Chen to let them go up the mountain to look for herbs. They are lacking one kind of medicinal herb in their area, and they heard from colleagues who had been to our Medicine Mountain before that we have it, so they want to go up and check.”

”Isn’t it still not the time to open the mountain? Haven’t people come for this before? Don’t you know how to handle it?” Chen Baoshen was still not done talking with Chiang Xiao, and he was somewhat displeased to be interrupted.

Rarely did Chiang Xiao withhold anything, sharing the formula of the Nourishing Body Tea with him.

This girl was too generous, which he really liked.

Then the people from the Chen Family said, ”We all know the rules. However, those doctors mentioned that a contagious disease has recently broken out in their area. It’s not too difficult to treat, but they are lacking this particular medicinal herb, so they had no choice but to come to us.”

”A contagious disease?” When he heard this, Chen Baoshen became serious all at once. ”Really?”

”That’s what they said. The lady of the house had also called a friend in Province X to inquire about this matter, and it has been confirmed.”

”Let’s go, let’s go back and see.”

Chen Baoshen immediately stood up and had walked a few steps before he remembered that Old Meng and Chiang Xiao were still there. He quickly asked, ”Would you two like to come and sit at my place?”

Old Meng was about to say there was no need when Chiang Xiao already nodded in agreement.

”Sure.”

Old Meng looked at Chiang Xiao and swallowed back the refusal he was about to express.

Although he didn’t know why Chiang Xiao wanted to go see, since she wanted to, he would of course go along with her wish.

The two followed Chen Baoshen to the Chen Family’s Medicine Mountain.

Halfway up Medicine Mountain, the Chen Family’s Side Courtyard was modestly situated under a large banyan tree.

It wasn’t very large, but it had a classical feel.

Upon entering the gate, a faint scent of medicinal herbs was wafting through the courtyard.

There were quite a few herbs being sun-dried next to the courtyard.

In the hall, several dusty-looking men immediately stood up as soon as they saw him enter and called out expectantly, ”Doctor Chen!”

”Sit, sit. Are you the ones from Province X?” Chen Baoshen invited Old Meng and Chiang Xiao to sit down, and then started discussing with those men.

All of them seemed honest enough.

The youngest one appeared to be about thirty, and there was an old man with white beard.

”Doctor Chen, that infectious disease was said to be difficult to treat, but since you developed a medicinal recipe, there has been hope for curing it. We few usually gather together to study and have finally found a way to improve the recipe, increasing the chances of curing the disease. But we are lacking that Little hemp straw.”

Hemp straw is common, but Little hemp straw is different. Its name is almost the same, but an additional word makes it a completely different herb.

Hemp straw is common; Little hemp straw is hard to find.

Chen Baoshen discussed with them, and seeing that they were indeed making sense and being coherent, he immediately agreed to open the mountain early and let them go up to look for Little hemp straw.
