Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Chapter 35: Chapter 35: There were HeyHa Immortals before, now there is War God Security.

”Speaking of which, bro,” Zhang Beixing suddenly asked while eating, ”when I was being interrogated earlier, I heard someone mention pulling up surveillance footage. Do we have surveillance here?”

Hearing this, the chatty police officer paused for a moment but quickly recovered, nodding. ”Yes, there’s surveillance. Why?”

At these words, Zhang Beixing was overjoyed. He quickly swallowed the food in his mouth and looked at the chatty police officer. ”Oh, nothing much. Just, bro, could I get a copy of that surveillance video?”

He’d been worried earlier because he had been too busy fighting to take any videos at the time! He hadn’t expected this sudden turn of events—surveillance footage actually existed! This was perfect; it was like fate itself had handed him a golden opportunity to show off, practically begging him to take it.

”What do you want the surveillance for?” the chatty police officer asked, somewhat puzzled.

Zhang Beixing’s first instinct was to say he wanted it to show off. After all, a highlight reel of this moment in his life was something he could boast about forever. But on second thought, that excuse was too crass and blunt; the officer might not agree. So, he changed tack, grinning. ”Obviously, to appreciate it properly, bro! Think about it, this is a highlight of my life. I’ve got to take it back and watch it thoroughly, right? When I’m old and have grandkids, I’ll have to tell them that their grandpa had his moments of glory too.”

The chatty police officer didn’t believe a word of it. But he didn’t say anything. After all, showing off is a common human inclination. He himself just lacked the opportunity; otherwise, he’d have boasted for at least a year. So he just said, ”I’ll get it for you in a bit.”

And then he fell silent. Zhang Beixing grinned, nodded, and said, ”Thanks a lot!” Then he lowered his head and tucked in heartily.

This chance to show off... I, Zhang Beixing, am definitely going to seize it!

TAP TAP TAP— The sound of footsteps approached from the end of the corridor.

Before long, Teacher Liu and Director Wang, led by an officer on duty, arrived at the cafeteria. Director Wang spotted a young man in a security uniform slurping noodles, four large empty bowls stacked beside him. He immediately recognized the uniform; it was from their own Shi University.

His pace quickened considerably. He hurried forward, calling out, ”Xiao Zhang! I’m Director Wang, head of the security department at Shi University. We’ve come to pick you up!”

Hearing this, Zhang Beixing paused his slurping. He looked up to see a middle-aged man with an overly bright smile rapidly approaching him. But that wasn’t important. What *was* important was the person following behind him—someone Zhang Beixing knew very well: Liu Yi, Teacher Liu!

”???”

Seeing the two of them approaching, one after the other, Zhang Beixing was bewildered. Although it was his first time ’in the clink,’ he knew that usually, it was family members or a supervisor who came to collect someone after they’d gotten into trouble. Since he was wearing a security uniform, logically, someone from the security team should have come for him. Why was Teacher Liu here too?

This is bad! I’m going to be exposed! Zhang Beixing tensed up at the thought. He was wearing the security uniform precisely so he could use the ’security guard’ identity to legitimately deal with Dong Shengjie and his cronies without facing any disciplinary action from the school. Now Teacher Liu is here... this is definitely bad news. Maybe I should just pretend I didn’t hear anything and play dumb?

While Zhang Beixing was pondering this, Liu Yi also happened to look his way. He had been curious about the identity of the security guard who had taken on five opponents at once. Now that Director Wang had called out, Liu Yi naturally looked in that direction.

One look was all it took. Liu Yi froze. He stared at Zhang Beixing, rubbed his eyes, and after confirming he wasn’t seeing things, the corner of his mouth began to twitch involuntarily.

In that instant, all the questions that had been plaguing him were answered.

No wonder the police had called *him* to pick someone up. No wonder he’d never heard of such a person in the security department.

It turned out the fellow wasn’t a security guard at all, but a student from their own Shi University!

”’You brat! It’s you again!’ Liu Yi exclaimed, his voice weary. ’Can’t you go a single day without stirring up trouble?’ By now, he wasn’t just speechless; he was utterly exasperated. It was like always catching the same repeat offender during raids on illegal establishments. Lately, if anything happened at Shi University, Zhang Beixing was involved in at least eighty percent of it, if not all of it! First, there was the ’Hip-Hop Sage,’ and now the ’War God Security Guard.’ What kind of master troublemaker was this kid? Shi University was truly blessed to have a student like him!”

Hearing Liu Yi’s outburst, Director Wang, standing beside him, looked confused. ”Stirring up trouble? What trouble? Teacher Liu, what are you talking about?”

Liu Yi shook his head. ”Nothing, I just recalled a few things. Speaking of which, Director Wang, this must be the young Mr. Zhang who just joined our school’s security department a couple of days ago, right? Haha, such a promising young man! So capable and so responsible—truly rare. Director Wang, you must hold onto him tightly. If he were to quit someday, it would be a tremendous loss for both the security department and the school!”

As he said this, Liu Yi deliberately raised his voice considerably, ensuring Zhang Beixing, who was still eating at the table, could hear every word.

Zhang Beixing naturally heard it. And now he was seriously panicking. Through Liu Yi’s words, he confirmed it: the man had recognized him. Otherwise, there was no reason for such over-the-top, backhanded praise.

’Rare,’ ’hold onto tightly,’ ’loss’... Weren’t these words, both overtly and covertly, trying to chain him to the security department? Damn it! I, Zhang Beixing, was just *pretending* to be a security guard! I never planned on becoming a real one! Teacher Liu, you’re too cruel! And here I thought that with your thick eyebrows and robust build, you were an honest, kind-hearted fellow, a real Mr. Nice Guy! But now? Bullshit! You’re nothing but a smiling tiger! Your mind is as full of wicked schemes as a rotten lotus pod has holes—countless, and all of them bad!

Silently fuming, Zhang Beixing felt that he had ultimately misplaced his trust and was now left to bear all the consequences alone. He shot Liu Yi a long, resentful glare. When he saw Liu Yi remained completely unfazed, his already foul mood soured even further.

Fifteen minutes later, Zhang Beixing finished his meal. The chatty police officer had copied the surveillance video and brought it over on a USB drive.

Seeing the officer hand over the USB drive, Liu Yi and Director Wang were very curious and asked what it was. When they learned it was surveillance footage from a public classroom, both of them became interested and wanted to watch it. They had only heard secondhand accounts of how formidable Zhang Beixing was; they had no firsthand idea. Now that the footage was available, they naturally wanted to see for themselves just how formidable he truly was.

Since they were both keen, and Zhang Beixing himself was eager to admire his own heroic performance, he consulted with the chatty police officer, procured a USB adapter, and began to play the video.

As the video loaded, the scene from the classroom filled the screen.

In the video, five thugs were surrounding a girl, muttering something indistinctly.

Then, the classroom door was kicked open. Zhang Beixing, dressed in a security uniform and followed by a short, dark, portly young man, strode in with his head held high.

Upon entering, he immediately confronted the five young thugs.

It was unclear what exactly was said, but then one thug raised his hand, and the others instantly rushed forward, swarming Zhang Beixing and launching a group assault!
