Chapter 27: Chapter 27: First Actual Combat

”Huh?”

”Damn it, my cigarette...”

Looking at the cigarette in his hand that had been smoothly switched out, then back at Zhang Beixing’s righteous expression, the man in the suit felt his brain couldn’t quite catch up.

”Hey, no, you...” he tried to explain.

But before he could finish, Zhang Beixing interrupted him with righteous indignation, ”Don’t say any more. Your corruption cannot taint my spirit of gold!”

”I am a security guard, safeguarding peace, who loves to eat little bear cookies and likes the school beauty...” Saying that, Zhang Beixing turned to Lin Siqi. ”Who is our school’s beauty?”

Lin Siqi had already guessed Zhang Beixing’s purpose in pretending to be a security guard. It’s quite funny, but I’m also grateful he came to the rescue so promptly, she thought.

”The Karate Club’s Chen Rourou.”

”Oh, okay, not important.” Zhang Beixing felt something wasn’t quite right but didn’t pay it much mind. He turned his head back to face the young man in the suit, speaking sternly, ”You think you can buy me off with just a cigarette? Get out of Shi University right now! Stop causing trouble here, or don’t force me to take action and make you leave.”

The man in the suit: ”...”

Listening to Zhang Beixing, even someone as slow-witted as him knew he was being toyed with. The other party had no intention of giving him face and letting this slide.

With that thought, the man in the suit dropped the pretense. His face darkened, and with a sinister look in his eyes, he said to Zhang Beixing, ”Bro, do we really have to make things this ugly?”

Zhang Beixing didn’t say a word, but his meaning was perfectly clear.

Sitting in the third row of the classroom, Lin Siqi watched as those who had previously bullied her were now being toyed with by Zhang Beixing. A smile flashed across her face. But then, she began to worry for him. After all, he’s really provoking them; he has directly pissed off those thugs. If they get hot-headed and start a fight... two against five. Even though Zhang Beixing has been training and getting stronger, I’m not very optimistic. Please, don’t be impulsive! Just stall until the security guards arrive, Lin Siqi silently prayed. I don’t want him to get hurt because of me.

It was a good thing her thoughts weren’t known to others. Otherwise, while some might not have cared, Zheng Jituo would undoubtedly have been the first to cry foul. Damn it all! I came with Zhang Beixing too! Why does she only care about him and not me? Is it just because I’m fat, dark-skinned, and not as handsome as Zhang Beixing that I deserve to be ignored? It makes me shiver with anger! What on earth is wrong with this world? Why is there so much malice towards fat people?! he would have fumed.

Meanwhile, by the podium, Zhang Beixing was still in a standoff with the man in the suit.

The atmosphere grew heavy in the silence, becoming so tense it was like drawn swords and taut crossbows. The other thugs, seeing this, understood their boss was angry and a fight might break out. They eagerly moved closer, cracking their knuckles, ready to teach this little security guard, Zhang Beixing, a lesson.

Zhang Beixing, of course, noticed this as well. To be honest, he felt a little nervous. After all, this might be my first fight since learning Yue Family boxing. And it’s one against five. I don’t know if I can handle it.

”Fine! What a security guard! Since you won’t give us face, then don’t blame us,” the man in the suit said, rolling up his sleeves, clearly ready to fight.

Seeing this, Zhang Beixing also adopted the opening stance of Yue Family boxing, saying intimidatingly, ”Are you sure? I must tell you, I am a Martial Artist, practicing Yue Family boxing—a lethal martial art. Once I make a move, there’s no turning back. I really won’t be able to hold back then! Victory and defeat will be set, and life and death decided!”

”Cut the crap! I don’t care if you’re into Martial Arts Training; even if you were into Cultivation today, this feud is set! It’s not over!” The man in the suit obviously didn’t believe him, thinking the little security guard was just bluffing.

”Fine, then state your name,” Zhang Beixing asked.

”Dong Shengjie!” the man in the suit said tersely. ”And you? Little security guard?”

Hearing this, a grin spread across Zhang Beixing’s face. He looked at Dong Shengjie and said, ”I’m your daddy!”

”FUCK! Still being a smartass! Get him! Smash his mouth in!” Dong Shengjie roared, furious and humiliated.

The other four men surged forward at once.

Seeing this, the students in the classroom immediately grew anxious for Zhang Beixing.

”Damn, Lao Zhang, be careful!” Zheng Jituo shouted, about to step forward to help.

”Stay back! Don’t get blood on you,” Zhang Beixing stopped him with a look.

Seeing this, Zheng Jituo wanted to curse. Come on, man! What damn time is it to be showing off? You’re taking on five guys by yourself! Do you think you’re Ye—

”WHAT THE FUCK?!”

However, before Zheng Jituo could finish his complaint, the scene unfolding before him made his jaw drop.

Zhang Beixing faced the five men ganging up on him without a hint of panic. As two charged from his left and right, he didn’t hesitate. He dropped into a Horse Stance, took a step forward, and grabbed the man on his left. With lightning speed, he caught the incoming fist, pulled it aside, and struck the man’s face with his other palm.

SLAP!

Simultaneously, his left foot shot out, his heel hooking the man’s right foot. After the palm strike, his other hand grabbed the man’s other arm. Angling his body, Zhang Beixing forcefully yanked him sideways.

THUMP!

”OUCH, FUCK!”

With a dull thud, the man on the left fell to the right, his face unfortunately meeting the incoming fist of the man charging from the right.

Zhang Beixing’s movements had seemed complex, but in reality, they all happened in less than a second.

”WHOA!!!”

”WOW! COOL!”

In the blink of an eye, Zhang Beixing had subdued one of them. The classroom instantly erupted in an uproar! The girls present were all captivated by Zhang Beixing’s fluid movements, their eyes wide with shock. Clearly, they hadn’t expected that Zhang Beixing, their classmate who usually kept a low profile and seemed frail, actually possessed such skills! His fighting was so manly! Little hearts began to sparkle in many of the girls’ eyes; they were treating Zhang Beixing as their savior, completely engrossed in the drama.

The man in the suit’s face showed a hint of fear. This little security guard actually has some skills, he thought, watching his struggling subordinate. Zhang Beixing’s earlier words echoed in his mind. Could this kid really be a successor of the Yue Family boxing style? No, impossible! Absolutely impossible! If he had real skills, why would he be stuck as a security guard at Shi University? Forget opening a martial arts school and making a name for himself; even being a bodyguard would earn him far more than this! And what kind of damn boxing style is this anyway? I’ve never heard of it! He must have made it up! It has to be luck!

”It was luck! Pure luck!” Dong Shengjie then declared, pumping up his remaining men. ”Guys, don’t be afraid! He’s just a little security guard. So what if he knows a few moves? There are five of us! Can’t five of us take him down? No matter how tough his kung fu is, he can’t beat numbers!”

”Charge!”

Saying this, he led by example and charged forward. Seeing their boss take the lead, what else could the other four do but risk their lives and follow?

”Fuck him! A damn security guard putting on such airs!” one of them yelled, and they all rushed forward.

Seeing them still daring to attack, Zhang Beixing inwardly scoffed. What a bunch of reckless fools, he thought, but he didn’t dare to underestimate them. After all, he wasn’t entirely sure about the true extent of his Yue Family boxing skills.

Without a second word, Zhang Beixing went all out. If he said he couldn’t hold back, he truly wouldn’t. Moreover, Yue Family boxing was a style designed for ancient warfare, focusing on practical combat and highly effective in deadly fights. Thus, once Zhang Beixing made his move, every technique was cunning and powerful.

Hungry Tiger Pounces, Black Tiger Clips Tail, Plucking Grass Searches for Snakes.

Binding, grabbing, locking, leaning, pushing, striking, twisting, pulling.

Zhang Beixing’s movements were constantly changing, his figure agile. Though he looked somewhat hard-pressed under the assault of the five men and took a few hits, his techniques were exceptionally ferocious. He could practically down an opponent with every two punches!

Nearby, Zheng Jituo was completely dumbfounded. His eyes were wide as he watched Zhang Beixing not only hold his own against five opponents but actually gain the upper hand. After a moment of silence, he slapped himself hard on both cheeks. Feeling the burning pain, Zheng Jituo confirmed that this was reality. The look of utter shock on his face could have rivaled Van Gogh’s ”The Scream”!

This... this... this... Is this really the Zhang Beixing I know? Since when did he become so damn awesome?!
