Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: I still like your unruly demeanor, please take some time to recover

Unfamiliar. This was simply too unfamiliar!

Were it not for the facts right before his eyes, Zheng Jituo would never have believed, no matter what, that the fierce man currently chasing down five opponents was actually Zhang Beixing!

No way, this kid actually knows martial arts! Watching Zhang Beixing send Dong Shengjie—who had tried a sneak attack from behind—sprawling with a heavy spinning kick, Zheng Jituo found it utterly ridiculous.

Previously, when Zhang Beixing had mentioned he practiced martial arts, Zheng Jituo hadn’t taken it seriously, thinking Zhang Beixing was just bluffing to intimidate people. Now, it seemed this guy was actually the real deal!

Little did they know, Zhang Beixing himself was quite surprised by his own prowess. He had initially thought he would panic in a fight, perhaps even forgetting to use the Yue Family’s series of punches.

But once the fight truly began, Zhang Beixing discovered that after so many days of hard work, coupled with the System’s attribute points, the Yue Family’s series of punches had already been etched into his muscle memory. So much so that whenever he saw an opponent’s move, a counter-move would instinctively surface in his mind, and he would execute it. This was why, in this battle where he was outnumbered, Zhang Beixing had maintained the upper hand throughout, despite it being his first time actually using the Yue Family’s series of punches.

The System is incredible! The Yue Family’s series of punches is incredible! Zhang Beixing marveled inwardly. He felt more and more that learning the Yue Family’s series of punches and allocating those attribute points had been absolutely worth it.

Meanwhile, lying on the ground and feeling the pain radiating from all over their bodies, Dong Shengjie and the others were forced to accept reality. The young security guard before them genuinely knew kung fu!

Realizing this, Dong Shengjie and his men wanted to curse their mothers. Damn it! What kind of overpowered protagonist plot is this? You fight so damn well, your skills are so amazing, your martial arts are so strong! Why aren’t you a bodyguard for some rich tycoon, earning a fortune annually, instead of cooping yourself up in a university as a mere security guard? Are you freaking insane?!

”Brother, brother, I was wrong! I truly know I was wrong! Please, spare me this once!” Watching Zhang Beixing, who had taken down everyone and was now slowly approaching him, apparently to deliver a finishing blow, Dong Shengjie lost his nerve. He scrambled backward, begging for mercy as he crawled.

Despite their aggressive entrance, at the end of the day, they were just hired hands, working for money. It wasn’t worth risking their lives for a job like this! If Dong Shengjie had known earlier that Shi University housed such a formidable character like Zhang Beixing, he wouldn’t have come, not for five thousand, not even for fifty thousand!

Hearing this, Zhang Beixing wiped a trace of blood from the corner of his mouth, a smile playing on his lips.

To the girls in the classroom, this smile was the epitome of dominance and handsomeness. But in Dong Shengjie’s eyes, that same smile was utterly terrifying.

Vaguely, he even imagined his great-grandmother standing beside Zhang Beixing, waving at him, inviting him to try the new items at the Meng Po Milk Tea Shop.

”Brother, you need to calm down! Calm down! We live in a society governed by law, and there are so many people watching! We can’t do anything foolish on impulse! You have a great future ahead of you! Think about your parents, think about your loved ones! We mustn’t act rashly!” Dong Shengjie swallowed hard, panicking. He was genuinely terrified that this young man, Zhang Beixing, might get carried away by a rush of blood to the head and do something extreme.

At the same time, he silently cursed all eighteen generations of the employer’s ancestors. He had only come to find a student, to scare them a bit at most, maybe harass them slightly—he wouldn’t have dared to do anything serious. And yet, he ended up getting thrashed. Who the hell could he even complain to about this?

Hearing his words, Zhang Beixing was somewhat puzzled. Parents? Loved ones? What on earth is this man talking about? And what’s with this victim act he’s putting on now?

If Zhang Beixing remembered correctly, Dong Shengjie and his crew had started this. With the way you’re acting now, you make it seem as if I, Zhang Beixing, am the villain here.

Bending down, Zhang Beixing looked at Dong Shengjie’s terrified face, lightly patted his cheek a couple of times, and said, ”Seeing how arrogant you were earlier, I actually thought you were someone formidable. Turns out, you’re just a worthless punk!”

Being publicly humiliated and mocked like this, on any other day, Dong Shengjie would have definitely spouted something like ”A scholar can be killed but not insulted.” But facing Zhang Beixing, he couldn’t bring himself to say such words. He could only suck up and say fawningly, ”Yes, yes, yes! You’re absolutely right, Brother! I’m just a worthless punk! Please spare me! I truly know I was wrong. I won’t dare to do it again.”

Seeing his cowardly demeanor, Zhang Beixing clicked his tongue, feeling a wave of boredom. ”I told you all before, I’m a martial artist. Once I make a move, it’s not easy to stop. You just wouldn’t believe me and had to get beaten up to learn your lesson. Anyway... I remember, your name is Dong Shengjie, right? Shengjie, to be honest, compared to how you are now, I much preferred your previous rebellious and untamed look. How about you try to bring that back?”

Dong Shengjie was on the verge of tears. ”Brother, you must be joking! When was I ever rebellious or untamed? Please, don’t call me Shengjie; I’m not worthy. Just call me Little Jie. Brother, today, Little Jie was blind and failed to recognize Mount Tai. Please spare Little Jie this once. Little Jie promises to turn over a new leaf, be a good person, and never cause trouble again.”

”Sparing you isn’t out of the question,” Zhang Beixing said, looking at Dong Shengjie. ”But it’s not right for the students of our school to be bullied by you like this. How about this: tell me who sent you after her. If you give up that person, I’ll let you off the hook.”

Before he had entered the classroom, he’d heard this group say that someone had sent them to find Lin Siqi. Clearly, there was a mastermind behind this. If possible, Zhang Beixing wanted to expose this person so Lin Siqi could be on her guard. After all, it’s easy to be a thief for a thousand days, but hard to guard against one for a thousand days!

This time, it happened on campus, so Zhang Beixing was able to arrive in time to help Lin Siqi. But what if it happened somewhere else next time?

Could it be that in her previous life, Lin Siqi stopped setting up her stall precisely because of an incident like this?

HISS... Why do I feel like something’s off? Is there some hidden complication here? It feels like something is missing... Zhang Beixing pondered this inwardly but then shook his head, pushing the thoughts aside.

If he couldn’t figure it out, he wouldn’t dwell on it. In any case, Lin Siqi was at school now; surely nothing too bad could happen to her here. After all, even without him, there were other students and security guards around. Especially the students.

They were in the prime of their youth, full of passion and a strong sense of justice, quick to resist unfairness.

It was just that Dong Shengjie and his group had picked a time to bother Lin Siqi when most of the male students were either still asleep or out playing basketball on the sports field, nowhere near the classroom. Otherwise, at any other time, forget five of them—even if ten or twenty had come, they would have had to endure a righteous group beating before they could leave.

These were university students: a group that, while sometimes foolish and prone to acting without considering the consequences, mostly possessed a strong sense of justice!
