Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Chapter 12: Chapter 12: I’ve Achieved Enlightenment

Zhang Beixing smacked his lips. My post isn’t perfect, he felt. But for now, this is all I can do.

BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ—

His phone began to vibrate. Accompanied by a flurry of notification PINGS, Zhang Beixing looked down. In just a few minutes, his post had already received more than twenty replies.

”Martial hero, so delusional, defying the heavens to change fate—OP, are you a novelist or something? How can you make up stuff like that?”

”The teacher won’t teach? Go give him two slaps and see if he stops his nonsense!”

”No offense, but what does ’rat rat’ mean? Like, rat people?”

”Who cares, let’s jerk off first!”

”What era is this? Still practicing traditional martial arts? Check out American-style Iaido. It’s simple, easy to learn, and once you pull the bolt, no one can match you! Beyond seven paces, the gun is fast; within seven paces, the gun is both accurate and fast!”

”Oh? It seems Your Excellency is quite knowledgeable about American-style Iaido. I admit you’re strong, but if, and I mean if, my left foot steps on my right foot and I fly straight to the sun, then kick out a solar helium flash—how would Your Excellency deal with that with just a gun?”

”Nice one, kid! So you’re the one behind *The Wandering Earth*, huh! You owe an apology to all of humanity!”

”Just a passerby, but to be honest, *The Wandering Earth* wasn’t that great. I slept for three hours in the cinema.”

”??? Wait, *The Wandering Earth* isn’t even out yet, and they’ve already made robots for it?”

”...”

The comments section was bustling and filled with a cheerful atmosphere.

Zhang Beixing looked at the nonsensical replies from these troll netizens, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. He had long known these people weren’t serious. But he hadn’t expected them to be *this* unserious!

American-style Iaido, left foot stepping on the right foot... What is all this? Does it have anything to do with my post?

[Suggestion detected. Suggestion recorded.]

[Suggestion: Stepping on your right foot with your left foot. Difficulty: S+. Every time you step on your right foot with your left foot and fly up ten meters, you will be awarded 10 Ability Points.]

Zhang Beixing: ”???”

Seriously? Even obviously mocking suggestions like this work?

Hearing the System prompt in his ear, Zhang Beixing’s mouth twitched.

As expected of the ’Three No’ System, indeed! It even records such absurd suggestions, Zhang Beixing complained inwardly, speechless.

But speechless as he was, he also realized something from this incident. It turned out that suggestions he received online could also be recorded by the System! And the System wasn’t as Zhang Beixing had thought, indiscriminately accepting and recording any suggestion thrown its way. The System would filter the suggestions!

The filtering criteria must be related to me personally, he mused. So far, all the suggestions recorded by the System have been about making me train, making me stronger! But giving Teacher Liu two big slaps or practicing American-style Iaido clearly has nothing to do with training, so that’s why the System didn’t respond to those.

Understanding the filtering mechanism, Zhang Beixing’s mood improved considerably.

He continued to look at his phone, and half an hour passed before he knew it.

These troll netizens certainly lived up to their name. All sorts of antics, all sorts of memes; even Zhang Beixing, a reincarnator, couldn’t help but smile knowingly after reading them. He marveled at how these people were masters of tomfoolery, always managing to surprise him with new stunts!

Of course, not everyone was just fooling around. Some people were genuinely trying to analyze Zhang Beixing’s situation.

Indeed, after scrolling for a while, a comment caught his eye: ”Got a martial arts secret book, but the teacher won’t teach? OP, have you ever thought about being Sun Wukong?”

This comment was very strange, almost incomprehensible. Zhang Beixing didn’t understand what the commenter meant, so he clicked on it. He then saw that in that comment’s reply section, many others were equally baffled by the commenter’s cryptic words.

After looking around and finding no answer, Zhang Beixing asked, ”Being Sun Wukong? What does that mean?”

Not long after, with a DING, the person replied to Zhang Beixing. ”It means exactly what it says. Back when Sun Wukong was seeking a master, how did he obtain the Seventy-Two Transformations and the Somersault Cloud?”

Seventy-Two Transformations? Somersault Cloud? Could it be...

”Are you saying Teacher Liu left me a hint?” Zhang Beixing replied. If he still didn’t get it after it was spelled out so clearly, he really would need a new brain.

”Exactly! Since he passed the martial arts secret book on to you, it means he actually sees potential in you. He likely didn’t teach you directly due to other reasons, so he could only leave you hints to figure out. If you understand, you can learn. If not, you may lose the chance forever!”

”I see! Thank you for the enlightenment!”

Zhang Beixing understood. After that person’s reminder, he suddenly saw the light!

Then he began to ponder what hint Teacher Liu might have left him. Ever since he had entered the room, Teacher Liu had been refusing him, trying to persuade him to give up on Cultivation of the Yue Family’s punches. The only action Teacher Liu had taken was when he choked on his disciple-initiation gift from Zhang Beixing and threw a book at him.

Combining this with the story of Sun Wukong’s nocturnal visit to Patriarch Bodhi...

Is that what it meant? Zhang Beixing had an epiphany, his eyes growing brighter.

What was that phrase Brother Huozi used? I’ve got it! This old Daoist has seen the light!

Watching Zhang Beixing’s expression change from gloomy to cheerful after he put down his phone, the people in the dormitory exchanged glances, having reached some sort of consensus.

Zheng Jituo walked over to Dong Guoning and Jin Linyu, lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and looked at Dong Guoning. ”Lao Dong, what’s the verdict?”

Dong Guoning shook his head. ”He’s a lost cause. Based on my years of experience as a simp, Lao Zhang’s phone was constantly PINGING and CHIMING just now, which must mean the goddess he’s fawning over replied to his messages. And after reading the messages, he instantly cheered up.”

”What does this imply? It shows that his emotions are no longer under his own control but are dictated by someone else! This is a characteristic of a simp in the later stages! At this point, no matter what she says, he’ll find a way to justify it for her. Even if he saw them checking into a hotel together, he’d delude himself into believing the guy was her brother. Sigh! I can’t believe Lao Zhang is such a deeply devoted person. It’s a pity his devotion is so misplaced!”

Saying this, Dong Guoning also lit a cigarette, his face full of regret.

Only Jin Linyu was pensive. He always felt something was off about this. Recalling Zhang Beixing’s usual demeanor, he hesitated for a moment, then said, ”Um, is there any chance we got this wrong? Maybe Lao Zhang isn’t lovesick at all, he was just in a genuinely bad mood?”

”What? Lao Zhang’s like this, and it’s not because of love? If he’s not lovesick, I’ll do a handstand on the spot and eat 1.5 kilograms, how about that!” Dong Guoning flicked the ash from his cigarette, speaking with a dismissive and utterly certain tone.

Then, he pulled Jin Linyu and Zheng Jituo closer, and they began to whisper and conspire.

Zhang Beixing was completely unaware that his simple bad mood had led his roommates to concoct such elaborate theories, even casting him as a man pitifully trapped by love.

If he knew, he would undoubtedly be disgusted and shout, ”Slander!”

After all, ”deep affection” wasn’t exactly a compliment these days. It implied being a sucker; it implied being deceived!

That Yellow Hair kid who ”charged forth for love” proved this point.

Damn it! In his past life, Zhang Beixing had been quite angry when he saw that news, feeling it was unfair to that kid and even voicing support for him. But what was the result? The result was that the whole damn thing was a script! All of them who supported the Yellow Hair kid had been deceived! If Batman came to China right now, he’d exclaim in shock, ”Holy shit! Why is this place full of fucking clowns? There are too many to catch, you can’t possibly catch them all!”
