Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Can Martial Arts Have the Scent of a Beautiful Woman?

”Unless boosting attributes also recovers fatigue!”

It seemed that was the only possible explanation. Otherwise, there was no way to explain why an increase of just 0.4 in Constitution brought about changes that seemed like a full 4-point increase.

”I’m so done with this no-info System, making me figure out everything on my own!” Zhang Beixing sighed, feeling utterly speechless.

No intelligence, no instructions, no introduction. Who else’s System operates like this?

It was only because its effects were still decent; otherwise, Zhang Beixing wouldn’t just be sighing, but cussing instead.

He walked to the sports field. Although it was only six in the morning, people were already running there. Zhang Beixing used his phone to conduct an in-depth study of the four-step breathing technique and diaphragmatic breathing. After ensuring he wouldn’t encounter yesterday’s issues, he warmed up and started today’s training.

In the blink of an eye, the morning had passed. Apart from buying four servings of food at seven o’clock, eating them in the dorm, and taking a short break, Zhang Beixing spent the rest of the time running on the field.

He didn’t even know how many laps he had run. He only knew that his Ability Points were continuously increasing. He had already surpassed two points.

At the same time, he had confirmed that using Ability Points to exchange for attributes did indeed recover some stamina and alleviate fatigue. But not much. It was clear that exploiting this feature to achieve infinite stamina and endless running was impossible.

”Lao Zhang, are you still running? How many meters have you run this morning? Don’t you feel tired?”

Lin Siqi exclaimed in surprise when she saw Zhang Beixing still running after she had lunch and returned to her stall. As someone who relied on the sports field for her business, Lin Siqi was basically always there selling things as long as she wasn’t in class. Thus, she had noticed Zhang Beixing in the morning. At the time, she hadn’t paid much attention, thinking he was just like everyone else, out for morning exercise. She had greeted him but didn’t think further about it. However, as time went by, she noticed that Zhang Beixing was still running. Though intermittently—running for about twenty minutes and then resting for ten—the fact that he could keep this up all morning...

”Are you possessed?” Lin Siqi suddenly asked, sizing Zhang Beixing up and down.

It wasn’t strange for her to have such an absurd idea; Zhang Beixing’s recent changes were just too drastic. For a guy who had been holed up in his dorm playing video games every day, it was one thing to suddenly start exercising, but his persistence was frighteningly strong. This looked exactly like a typical web-novel plot where the protagonist gets reborn.

Zhang Beixing’s mouth twitched. Looking at Lin Siqi, he thought, Her imagination is really wild.

Then he put on a serious expression. ”You guessed it. I’m indeed not from this world. I am the Donkey Emperor from the Great Production Brigade World. Now quickly transfer me two hundred bucks, and when my Cultivation is restored, I will repay you a hundredfold!”

”Get out of here, you! Stop blabbering nonsense. If you said you were the First Emperor Qin, I might not have said anything, but a donkey from a production brigade trying to scam my money? What a monster!” Upon hearing the request for money, Lin Siqi immediately clutched her phone protectively. Her expression, nervous yet disdainful, looked quite adorable as she spoke.

Seeing her like this, Zhang Beixing laughed heartily and didn’t continue the topic. He sat in the stands and chatted with Lin Siqi about various things. Finally, under her strong recommendation, he bought two bottles of sports drinks and then went back to the dorm to rest.

Zhang Beixing was not made of iron. The reason he managed to run all morning was entirely because enhancing attributes also recovered some of his stamina and relieved fatigue.

Now that my Ability Points are all used up and I can’t enhance my attributes, to gain more, I’ll need to run at least another three kilometers. I don’t think that in my ’severely fatigued’ state, I can continue successfully.

The next day, Zhang Beixing did the same: running all morning, then resting on his bed in the afternoon. It was tiring, but the gains were also exceedingly rich. After two days of adding points, his Constitution had gone from an initial 61.1 to 65.3. Although he was still hovering around the passing mark, it was much better than before.

I’m getting 2.2 Ability Points per day, which adds up to 15.4 in a week. Keep it up, and strive to increase my Constitution to eighty by next weekend. Then I’ll be out of this sub-health state! Thinking this, Zhang Beixing was full of fighting spirit.

I want to become stronger. To be healthy! To have eight-pack abs. To...

”Whoa, those hip sways are amazing! *SLURP*!”

”She’s a real top-tier hottie! The internet is truly amazing!”

”Lao Zhang, you’ve really perfected your Douyin algorithm, haven’t you? Every time you open it, it’s just high-quality beauties with a single swipe. Look, I’ll take a loss here and buy it for five hundred. How about it?”

Listening to his three roommates wailing behind him, one even wanting to buy his account, Zhang Beixing didn’t think twice before saying, ”Not for sale, not at any price!”

You’ve got to be kidding me! I’ve nurtured this account since high school, put in so much effort to train the algorithm to my liking—every bit of it is my hard work! How can it be measured with money?

Zhang Beixing scoffed and continued browsing videos. The other three, after watching for a while, said they couldn’t take it anymore and ran off to play games to cool down. Seeing them like this, Zhang Beixing simply climbed onto his bed and lay down to browse on his phone.

Just when he was getting into it, a Martial Arts video suddenly popped up on his screen.

”???”

The abrupt change in style stunned Zhang Beixing. He stared at his phone, utterly confused. I was sure I had trained the algorithm well. How could it still...

He glanced at the video’s stats: Likes 1,000,000+, Comments 10,000+, Shares 200,000+.

It’s an officially promoted trending video. That explains it!

Zhang Beixing pursed his lips and lifted his finger to swipe away.

But just then—

”WHOOSH WHOOSH—”

A series of air-rending sounds came from the phone, making Zhang Beixing pause. He lowered his finger and focused on the screen. In the video, a middle-aged man dressed in white continuously swung his outstretched arms. From the movements alone, it looked more like opera—fancy but seemingly powerless. However, each move he made was accompanied by that whooshing sound. It was clear this was no mere show; this was real kung fu!

”Chop Hanging Fist?” Zhang Beixing muttered, seeing the caption below the video.

The name wasn’t unfamiliar to him. Previously, when watching ”Ip Man” on Platform B, he often saw comments like, ”With Bajiquan supplemented by Chop Hanging Fist, even immortals would be terrified.”

Therefore, I had always thought that Chop Hanging Fist was a fierce, swift, and precise boxing technique like Bajiquan. But to think it actually looks so... graceful when performed?

Halfway through the video, he opened the comment section. He saw that the comments weren’t all just variations of ”So impressive,” ”Great kung fu,” or ”Cheers for Chinese Martial Arts.”

Zhang Beixing pondered briefly and then commented: ”I admit your Chop Hanging Fist is strong, but if, and I’m just saying if, I worked out for two and a half years, got ripped, and put on some suspenders, I honestly don’t know how you’d handle me!”

This style of comment would only become popular in the coming years, characterized by its naive arrogance and stubborn confidence.

After posting his comment, Zhang Beixing decisively swiped up, returning to watching beauties.

As for Martial Arts? Sorry, although it looked great and powerful, I still feel it isn’t as appealing as the beauties!

Thus, Zhang Beixing kept watching beauties until eleven o’clock. Remembering he had an early class the next day, he then turned off his phone and plugged it in to charge. He covered himself with his blanket, closed his eyes, and soon drifted into dreamland.
