Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

’Selling it is a definite, but how to sell it for a good price is something I need to think about carefully.’

”I can sell it, but the price won’t be cheap.”

A look of joy crossed Black Jack’s face. ”You...”

THUD!

Before he could finish, Mirus, having chugged his beer, slammed the barrel down. His eyes were slightly bloodshot as he roared, ”As long as it has the power you just showed, I’ll buy it, no matter the price! Two thousand gold pounds for one, how about it? If that’s not enough, I’ve got a collection of mutated creature materials...”

”Wait, Mirus!!” Black Jack, exasperated, quickly cut him off. ”This isn’t just about you! This is for us, Bai Ke Li—no, this is business for the Black Pearl! Let me do the talking!”

’Two thousand gold pounds for one gun, and he’d add more if it wasn’t enough?’

’This is daylight robbery! No, it’s like willingly walking into the slaughterhouse to be fleeced!’

’How much bootleg liquor did he have to drink to say something so stupid?’

’Dammit, doesn’t he know that across the entire Cordo Sea, no one but the Black Pearl can get away with robbery like this?’

Mirus ducked his head and muttered under his breath, ”Boss, I just really want one...”

”You, shut up!”

Black Jack shot him a fierce glare. Only after Mirus fell silent did he turn back to Wei’en, forcing a smile. ”Little Wei’en—uh, Captain Wei’en, he’s just had too much to drink...”

Yuan and Menor exchanged a look, and both gave Wei’en a pointed look—this was a fat sheep, an opportunity that wouldn’t come again!

’T-two thousand gold pounds?’

Wei’en felt his breathing slow. That was a full four times the price he had just been considering.

A cost of fifteen gold pounds, sold for five hundred—even he felt that was black-hearted. But two thousand...

’Dammit, I’m doing it!’

’This fat sheep is definitely getting fleeced!’

At this thought, a brilliant smile spread across Wei’en’s face. ”Jack First Officer,” he said, ”I have two proposals—or rather, two models.”

”Two? Let’s hear them.”

Seeing his expression, Black Jack sighed internally. ’Looks like we’re getting robbed after all. Dammit, I really need to teach those idiots when to keep their mouths shut.’

The surrounding pirates also fell silent, their gazes fixed eagerly on Wei’en, waiting to hear his prices. The sharpshooters among them were especially desperate for him to spit it out so they could start waving their wallets, offering gold pounds, materials, women... whatever it took to buy one!

”The first is the basic model. It’s a sniper rifle with a single Rune Array, possessing both Swift and Explosive Rune Powers. The price... five hundred gold pounds.”

”Five hundred gold pounds...”

That price wasn’t cheap.

One had to understand that ordinary Rune Equipment was priced between one hundred and one thousand gold pounds. Firearms were a niche category among them, and their prices were typically twenty percent lower than other Rune Equipment.

For five hundred gold pounds, you could buy a full suit of rune-engraved leather armor!

”And the second type?” Black Jack considered it. The price was fair enough—expensive, but not outrageously so.

”The second one is much rarer!”

As he spoke, Wei’en took out the sniper rifle again, holding it with both hands for them to see. ”How much do you know about Mutated Mages?”

”Does that have something to do with this gun?” Yuan raised an eyebrow.

”The Death Trait!” Wei’en gestured for them to look at the faint black gleam on the sniper rifle and explained, ”This is an extremely rare contamination trait among Mutated Mages—the Death Trait!”

The Death Trait?

Black Jack and the others carefully observed the sniper rifle, even using their own power to probe it.

A few seconds later, they finished their inspection and looked at each other, unable to hide the surprise in their eyes.

”So, what was in that Shetland Kingdom bulletin was true. You really are a Mutated Mage, and one with the Death Contamination Trait?”

Wei’en smiled. He neither denied nor confirmed it, but continued, ”This model of sniper rifle takes me a considerable amount of time to make, but its power... I believe you’ve already seen it, hmm...”

”Simply put, its bullets will contaminate the target. As long as you deal damage, the Death Contamination Trait will accumulate. Once it reaches a certain point, it will trigger the Instant Death Trait!”

”Instant death?”

”What kind of trait is that?”

”Never heard of it. Is there really an Extraordinary trait like that? It sounds incredible.”

”In-instant death?!” Black Jack’s jaw dropped as he stared in disbelief. ”Are you sure?”

”Yeah, Wei’en, the Instant Death Trait hasn’t been seen for many years.” Menor took the opportunity to chime in, ”According to the records on some Era Relics, the Death Trait has been extremely rare since the end of the Third Era, to say nothing of the Instant Death Trait within it.”

Yuan’s eyes flickered. He stared straight at Wei’en and added, ”It’s rare, but not nonexistent. I’ve heard stories that in the Forbidden Sea, south of the Southern Continent, there are mutated creatures that can instantly kill their enemies the moment they contaminate them.”

”Is that so?” Black Jack was skeptical. ”How come I’ve never heard of it?”

”You’ve been stuck in the Cordo Sea Region. It’s normal for you not to know,” Yuan said dismissively.

Listening to the three of them, Wei’en realized just how rare the Instant Death Trait was. ’So even these men who have sailed for years have never heard of it.’

Fortunately, he had prepared a story in advance and didn’t have to scramble for an explanation.

”That’s right. I obtained this trait from an Undead Creature I summoned from the Undead World. Now you should understand just how precious this gun is, right?”

”The Undead World?” Yuan said thoughtfully. ”That place has existed since before the Fourth Era. It having some special Undead Creatures is to be expected.”

Menor nodded. ”Indeed. Ever since the Ghost Soul School was founded, they’ve been constantly replenishing the Undead Creatures in there. Heaven knows how many corpses those boneheads have converted.”
