Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”Are you... prepared to die?”

Wei’en’s voice wasn’t loud, but it echoed like thunder in the ears of the Holy Professionals aboard the Kenzan Frolov, a proclamation of their doom.

He hadn’t noticed the Bai Ke Li approaching in the distance. Instead, he was focused on familiarizing himself with the power surging within him.

Under the influence of ”Forbidden Item 2-77: Karel’s Whisper,” his attributes had skyrocketed in barely a tenth of a second. But this also came with a sense of being torn apart, as if he couldn’t fully control his own body.

Wei’en glanced at his attributes on the panel. He silently activated his talent, Spiritual Conversion, keeping his Origin at 1,000 and distributing the rest evenly among his other basic attributes.

Toughness Level: 14,477

Spirit Level: 14,477

Origin: 1,000

In addition to the massive boost in attributes, he had also gained several special abilities that acted like passive Magic, such as flight, healing, Strength Enhancement, and Speed Enhancement.

In this state, Wei’en felt even more powerful than when he was back in the Caster City State, absorbing the surge from Tina’s loss of control.

Losing two points from his Toughness Level every second—the cost was steep, but it was worth it!

Huberto’s lips formed a thin line, his expression grave as he stared at Wei’en and calculated the effects of the curse. ’I can only use a third of my Power of Faith,’ he realized. The rest had simply vanished, dissipated by that beautiful melody, ”To the Gentle Hathaway.”

”Pavla...!”

”I understand, Lord Huberto.”

The priestess, Pavla, knew that Lord Huberto had been right.

No matter their reasons, heretics were heretics. They only denied the existence of the Dawn, harmed Its believers, and brought nothing but slaughter and disaster...

Her eyes fixed on Wei’en’s impassive face, and a look of grim resolve settled over her own delicate features.

Even though she too was under the forbidden item’s curse, her golden wings now useless, she still had unshakable faith that victory belonged to the Dawn.

With this thought, Pavla gently waved her hands. Two faint white beams shot from her palms, streaking toward the ship’s figurehead.

The moment the white beams touched the figurehead—carved in the likeness of the Lord of Dawn, Orpheus—it began to glow brilliantly, suffused with a golden radiance. The statue’s plain, wooden eyes suddenly blazed with light so intense it was almost blinding.

From the sky, the setting sun seemed to focus a single beam of light, which shot down from an impossibly vast distance to strike the figurehead, carrying with it a faint, whispered message:

”When the world is lost and the sun is gone, when night is eternal and the Earth has fallen, when calamity is constant and the old whispers never cease—the Dawn Radiance shall rise, banish the endless night, illuminate the world, and its glory shall be everlasting!”

The voice seemed to speak of the Dawn’s glorious moments during an age of darkness, bringing its declaration to the world once more.

”Blade of Judgment!”

Pavla cried, her expression solemn.

The next second, a fine crack split the space between the statue’s brows. Dazzling golden light erupted from it, merging with the radiance from the eyes. In a motion that seemed both slow and fast, the light coalesced into a great golden sword.

Unlike the previous sword of light, this golden greatsword gleamed with a metallic luster. Its sharp edge reflected the surrounding sea, and its wide hilt was engraved with intricate patterns that swept backward to form a guard.

Only then did Huberto move. He made a single gesture, and the golden greatsword appeared in his hand, held in a firm grip.

Wei’en watched all of this with cold indifference.

He paid little mind to the transformation of the Lord of Dawn’s figurehead, nor to the newly summoned golden greatsword.

All he knew was that the power in his body had finally stabilized. He also knew that two seconds had passed, meaning he had already permanently lost four points from his Toughness Level...

But he didn’t panic or rush. He knew full well that despite this explosive power granted by the forbidden item, acting rashly before he understood the methods of the Dawn Church’s Holy Professionals would be a mistake. A blind charge would only lead to a repeat of his earlier humiliation, when they had expelled his Elemental Power and left him unable to use Magic.

”Dawn!”

Pavla let out another clear cry. Unable to fly with her golden wings, she could only retreat swiftly into the formation of the Holy Order Legion. There, Holy Professionals in platinum armor stood shoulder to shoulder, their resolute eyes just visible through their visors.

Surrounded by the Holy Professionals, Pavla’s expression grew even more pious and solemn. She closed her eyes as if in prayer, and the Power of Faith began to emanate from her body.

It joined with the Power of Faith from the surrounding Holy Professionals, and all of it flowed once more into the brilliant golden sword of light in mid-air.

For a moment, the sword of light seemed to take on a life of its own, growing even more dazzling. It resonated with the golden greatsword in Huberto’s hands, bathing the entire ship in a golden luminescence and radiating an astonishing power.

”ROOOOAR—”

The sea around the Five-Masted Sailing Ship churned, roiled by this power. One after another, Deep Sea aberrations leaped from the water. But their twisted, mutated bodies, as if being purified, began to dissolve the moment they broke the surface, leaving behind only their desperate, piercing shrieks.
