Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”Is that so? Anything else?”

”Anything else... let me think...”

Flanta recalled the intelligence he’d gathered from cursing the Ghost Soul School with Wizards from other schools in the Nightmare Realm World. He chose his words carefully, ”Besides the majority of their Wizards who are engrossed in research, the Ghost Soul School also has a portion who are frequently active outside. There are some on every continent, mostly at the Great Mage level. But none of us really like them. Basically, wherever there’s a war, they’ll show up.”

”Oh?” This information piqued Wei’en’s curiosity. ”What are they doing there?”

”To collect corpses, of course. Some are even converted into Undead Creatures on the spot... At the beginning of last year, a Great Mage from our Blood Spirit School died in a conflict with Dawn, and he was turned into an Undead Creature by a Ghost Soul Wizard.”

”And that’s a bad thing?”

”...He could have revived himself using a certain Secret Technique.”

”Heh. Haha.”

Wei’en couldn’t help but chuckle. ’How very Ghost Soul of them.’

He wondered if the Great Mage who was turned into an Undead Creature retained his memories... ’If he does remember all this, he’s probably dying to tear the Ghost Soul School apart.’

Hearing his laughter, a slight smile also appeared on Flanta’s face. ”Because of this incident, our school’s Bremel Legend made a special trip to the Ice Castle in the Northern Continent to argue with the Ghost Soul School’s Boras Legend.”

”It is indeed a, hmm, tragedy.”

This information was enough.

Wei’en thought to himself, ’Although there wasn’t much, it’s not hard to see from Flanta’s words how much the Ghost Soul School values its Research Center.’

’Then again, it makes sense. They’ve already become Undead Mages. If they don’t find something to do, they’d be out causing destruction every day.’

’Especially with the undead conversion he just mentioned. At least for now, they wait for conflicts to end before snatching corpses. If they were truly idle, they’d probably just turn people into corpses themselves before converting them.’

’The conclusion is—the Ghost Soul School’s Research Center should be safe to visit!’

Thinking of this, Wei’en took the initiative to end the topic and changed the subject, asking, ”I heard you all talking about the Dawn Church’s Candidacy Saintesses earlier. Is there going to be another Saintess?”

”Not necessarily,”

Seeing him ask about this, Flanta’s spirits lifted. He might be unclear on other intelligence, but the Blood Spirit School took the Dawn Church very seriously.

”Almost every ten years, Dawn announces a few Candidacy Saintesses, but ninety-nine percent of them end up with nothing. Of course, even if they ultimately fail to advance, they are still Favored Ones who have received a blessing. For Dawn, it’s no loss.”

”This time, however, I heard that two of the Candidacy Saintesses have already grasped a portion of an authority. One of them is a type that has rarely been seen. According to a Great Mage in my school, that authority hasn’t appeared since the new era began.”

The image of Kali surfaced in Wei’en’s mind. ”Is it that... Desecration Authority?”

He seemed to recall someone saying it hadn’t been seen in a thousand years, or since the Fifth Era... ’Not much difference, I guess.’

”That’s the one!” Flanta’s tone grew slightly grave. ”I specifically asked my teacher about it. According to the records on some Era Relics within the school, every appearance of the Desecration Authority is a harbinger of misfortune.”

”Misfortune?”

”Yes, that’s what my teacher said. The last time a Desecration Saintess appeared, the Dawn Church lost nearly two-thirds of its Holy Professionals.”

Wei’en was stunned for a moment. ”That many? Was it a disaster or something else?”

”It was supposedly because of some war or another, I can’t remember the details.” At this, Flanta sighed softly. ”In any case, if that one succeeds, it will absolutely be bad news for us Blood Spirits.”

”I see.”

Wei’en recalled their parting several days ago. ’The next time I see Kali... will it have to be as enemies?’

The thought of such a scene instantly extinguished his desire to continue the conversation. He said calmly, ”Let’s sign the trade agreement.”

”Alright.”

Flanta summoned a Nightmare Worm and wrote down the transaction details. He also felt that his performance today had been more than sufficient.

’As long as I maintain contact with this lord, I’m sure it’ll be a surefire profitable venture in the future!’

”Same as last time, please help me exchange for another batch of materials to make the Anomaly-Suppressing Potion. Hmm, a quarter of a gold pound is a good ratio.”

”Rest assured, I’ll gather them right away and send them over to you.”

”Mm, I’ll be heading back then.”

”Goodbye, Faceless Lord.”

Wei’en took one last look at the black shadow and the high tower in the distance, and his consciousness withdrew from the Nightmare Realm World.

Flanta watched the black shadow disappear, fell silent for a few seconds, then a brilliant smile slowly bloomed on his face. Unstoppable laughter spilled out, causing those nearby to turn and look.

”A Blood Spirit Wizard?”

”Probably got worked up over the news about those new Candidacy Saintesses from Dawn.”

”It’s not just the Blood Spirit School. We of the Despair Sect have also scaled back our operations on the Eastern Continent.”

”The Abyssal Sect, too...”

Flanta heard the surrounding chatter, his smile never fading. ’You goddamn nobodies don’t know shit.’

’That’s a Great Mage! As long as I cling to this thigh, I’m set for life!’

’I’m gonna be rich, you get it?’

Filled with scorn and contempt for those around him, Flanta also left the Nightmare Realm World. He still had to prepare the trade items; he couldn’t let the great lord wait.

Meanwhile, Wei’en returned to his workshop.

He didn’t immediately open the triangular box to summon a Nightmare Worm and complete the transaction. Instead, he sat down at his workbench, picked up a quill, dipped it in some ink, and began to write.
