Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

’Does he have too much time on his hands? Is he just bored?’

”You! Yes, you!”

At that moment, the black shadow suddenly pointed at Wei’en and shouted.

”Hm?” Wei’en pointed at himself. ”Are you talking to me?”

”That’s right, you!” The black shadow drifted closer, its blurry pair of eyes staring intently at him. ”Origin Power 562? I remember you. You didn’t have this much last time!”

”Er...”

’Last time?’

Wei’en was stunned. He sized up the black shadow before him in disbelief. ’No way, he actually remembers me?’

”You... have the wrong person.”

”No, I am not mistaken,” the black shadow said in an exceptionally serious tone. ”In the one thousand five hundred and seventy-eight years I’ve been here, a total of 43,236,578 Extraordinaries have passed by. I remember the general outline of every single one.”

”It was you. You passed through here two days ago. I absolutely would not misremember!”

’One thousand five hundred and seventy-eight years? 1,578 years?!’

’Isn’t that the entire span of the New Calendar?’

’Does that mean this black shadow has been here since the beginning of the New Calendar and remembers every captain-level Extraordinary?’

’How could such a person exist?’

”You...”

”Don’t you deny it!” the black shadow interrupted. ”I’m not mistaken. It’s you, the one who has no respect for his elders!”

’This person... is utterly terrifying!’

Wei’en said, ”You have the wrong person!”

After speaking, he walked straight toward the Transfer Area.

He never expected that after passing through the membrane, the black shadow would still be right beside him, chattering endlessly. ”You can doubt my professional knowledge of the Floating Island, but please do not doubt my memory! Over the past thousand-plus years, I have seen many Extraordinaries whose strength increased at a rapid pace, but not one of them was like you, increasing your Origin Power by over 400 in just two days!”

”You must have used some special method, right? Devouring? A knowledge inheritance? Or perhaps a blessing bestowed by a descending deity?”

Wei’en stopped. His blurry crimson eyes, influenced by the power of the Nightmare Realm World, stared at the shadow. ”Are you sure you want to keep following me? I highly doubt the duration of your existence there. The New Calendar has only just passed its 1,578th year!”

The black shadow’s floating motion paused, as if Wei’en had struck a vital point. ”The 1,578th year of the New Calendar... has it really been that long?”

”Hm?”

The black shadow hovered in mid-air. As if in reply, yet also as if muttering to itself, it said, ”Young Mr. Wizard, I mean you no harm. I just want to tell you one thing.”

”What is it?”

”When you advance to the legendary level, you must pay close attention to the changes in your own Origin!”

Wei’en was taken aback for a moment. ”What do you mean?”

”You must remember this; it is of the utmost importance!” The black shadow didn’t explain further. After delivering this solemn warning, it slowly retreated, passing back through the membrane into the Captain’s Area. ”Remember!!”

Wei’en stared blankly at its departing figure, suppressing the urge to return to the Captain’s Area and question it further. He turned and walked toward the high tower.

’Changes in my Origin?’

’Why give me a special warning about that?’

’And specifically when I’m advancing to the legendary level?’

’Really...’

Wei’en immediately pushed the black shadow’s words to the back of his mind. Setting aside whether that person had really lived for so long, the prerequisite of advancing to the legendary level alone was still a very distant prospect for him.

’Legendary-level... that requires basic attributes of at least 50,000...’

’With my current basic attributes, including my Origin Power, totaling just 18,000 points, it would take at least five years to reach the legendary level.’

’If any other changes were to occur along the way, that timeframe could be extended indefinitely.’

”Tsk, his judgment was pretty sharp.”

With this thought, Wei’en calmly arrived at the high tower area.

”...those three Saintess Candidates from the Dawn Sanctuary are really beautiful.”

”Beautiful? Is that all you can think of?”

”Damn it, just think about it! When those three Saintess Candidates really get promoted and drop the ’Candidate’ from their titles—they could beat you so bad your own mother wouldn’t recognize you.”

”Sorry, my mother died a few years ago due to Red Moon contamination.”

”Then people who know you wouldn’t recognize you! Especially that Saintess Candidate who’s said to possess the ’Desecration Authority.’ Damn it, not a single one has appeared in a thousand years, and now one shows up?!”

”Tell me about it. Desecration, just from the name, you know it’s not a good Authority. If she really succeeds in getting promoted, she’ll probably be even more outrageous than the current wielder of the Heroic Authority, Xizi Sepulda!”

”More than outrageous. The Desecration Authority is a double-edged sword that specializes in suppressing dark-type Origins. If you guys were to really face her, you probably wouldn’t even last a second.”

”I wonder who that person is exactly. Is she called Kali Morris?”

”Yeah. In my mind, isn’t Dawn supposed to be about things like kindness, heroism, and wisdom? How did a ’Desecration’ suddenly pop up?”

”Heh heh, that’s where you’re uninformed...”

”Flanta, go on, tell us. What’s the story with her ’Desecration Authority’?”

’Kali?’

’Desecration Authority?’

Wei’en noticed Flanta in the shadows. He heard him begin to speak: ”I actually went out of my way to look through some Era Relics. It’s said that the last Saintess with the ’Desecration’ Authority killed countless legendary-level Extraordinaries back in the Third Era.”

”Killed legendary-level ones?”

”Flanta, are you sure you didn’t read that wrong?”

”You think I modified my body like you...”

’Killed legendary-level Extraordinaries... Sister Kali?’

Wei’en frowned. Without waiting for them to say more, he stepped forward and said, ”Your Excellency Flanta.”

”You lot... Huh? ’Your Excellency’?!”

Flanta’s gaze swept over the runic rank on Wei’en’s forehead. His flesh-modified body froze, and he stammered, ”M-My Lord, m-may I ask what orders y-you have for me?”

”Follow me!”

Wei’en ignored the stares of the others and turned to walk toward the high tower.

”...A regent-level Extraordinary? HISS!”

”Why would a big shot like that come to a small-time place like the Transfer Area? And looking for Flanta, at that... Er... no way, right?”

”I was thinking the same thing. Maybe this lord just wants to sell some corpses of the Dawn Church’s Holy Professionals?”

”Quiet!”

Seeing that the terrifying man was about to enter the high tower, Flanta gritted his teeth and followed.

”M-My Lord, may I ask what your orders are? As long as I have it and you need it, I will do everything in my power!”

”Oh?” Wei’en turned to look at Flanta with a half-smile, not caring whether the man could make out his expression, and chuckled lightly. ”Your Excellency Flanta, I wonder if you accept perfect-grade Abnormality Suppression Potions?”

”P-Perfect-grade Abnormality Suppression Potions...”

Flanta froze for a second, then carefully examined the black shadow clinging to Wei’en’s body. His eyes suddenly shot wide open. ”You, you, you are His Excellency Faceless?!”
