The Sea Queen of 1985

Chapter 547: Chapter 547: Shame Gives Rise to Courage

Han Xiaorui was surprised. ”Chen Wenxuan actually thinks that way?”

Han Xiaoqing chuckled. ”He’s a staunch supporter of national policy. Since they say family planning is good for the country and its people, he believes it. And I don’t want to have too many kids either.”

”It’s great to have a lot of kids, but everyone can see how much hard work it takes. Never mind anything else—just since Ningning and Zhuangzhuang were born, you haven’t been out to sea in four years, have you?”

Han Xiaorui nodded again and again. ”Oh my god, I’ve been dreaming of going out to sea! But the kids can’t be left alone. You used to be here to help, and then Wu Jiao and Wu Yao helped out.”

”It’s fine once the kids are a little older, but not when they’re too young. Now that I’ve finally gotten Ningning and Zhuangzhuang through their early years, I should be able to go out to sea once the fishing off-season is over.”

Hearing this, Han Xiaoqing could feel her sister’s joy. ”Congratulations, Sis, on getting back to the sea.”

Han Xiaorui smiled. ”You too. Now that you’re back, you have to take care of yourself. Work is important, but it’s not more important than your health.”

Han Xiaoqing answered, ”I know, Sis. I’ll take good care of myself, but I’ll need to hire a nanny after the baby is born.”

Han Xiaorui nodded. ”Don’t worry, leave it to me. I promise I’ll find you a reliable nanny.”

The two sisters chatted privately, their hearts full of joy as they looked forward to returning to Hua Country.

After staying abroad for half a month, they toured all the classic attractions in the area.

The children’s school year was about to start, so Han Xiaoqing prepared to take everyone back home.

Mrs. Chen was worried about Han Xiaoqing. ”Can’t you wait a little longer? You’re pregnant, after all. You have to be extra careful.”

Han Xiaoqing replied politely, ”I just had a prenatal checkup. The doctor said I’m perfectly healthy and the baby is strong, too. I can fly, Mom. You don’t need to worry.”

Mrs. Chen wanted to persuade her further, but seeing Han Xiaoqing’s firm resolve, she didn’t press the issue.

Mrs. Chen, Mr. Chen, Chen Wenze, and Chen Wenhui all came to the airport to see off Chen Wenxuan and Han Xiaoqing.

Ye Feng had already returned home on the third day after the wedding, while Han Xiaorui traveled around the area with everyone else.

Mrs. Chen gripped Han Xiaorui’s hand tightly. ”Xiao Rui, I’m entrusting Wenxuan to you and Ye Feng from now on. Please help me look after him.”

Han Xiaorui smiled and agreed. ”Of course. He’s my brother-in-law, my family. When you have time, you should come back to Hua Country for a visit. It’s not like it was when you last saw it. It’s changing every single day now.”

Mrs. Chen smiled. ”Alright. We’ll come back to visit them after Xiao Jing gives birth.”

”We look forward to your visit,” Han Xiaorui said with a smile. ’There’s no point in saying more. We’ll just put our heads down, work hard, and grow strong. One day, Hua Country will shock the world.’

During her time abroad, she found that ordinary people were fine; it was easy to get along with them.

But the stuff they showed in the Western media? What a load of garbage. The newspapers were full of slander, too.

When Han Xiaorui mentioned that her group was from Hua Country, people were very surprised.

Especially Han Xiaorui, with her bright, large eyes and delicate features, was considered very beautiful even in the eyes of foreigners.

’What squinty eyes?’

As for Han Xiaorui’s children, they were also considered standouts abroad.

They had black hair, black eyes, big eyes, and very delicate features.

Their stereotype of Hua Country was still stuck in the late Qing Dynasty, thinking people still wore queues.

At first, Han Xiaorui was a little annoyed, but she quickly let it go.

’I always thought it was so free abroad, but judging from the information they get, especially about Hua Country, it’s all fake.’

’Back home, on the other hand, while the news reporting might be selective, the parts they do report are definitely true.’

’When you compare the two, the difference is stark.’

’In the short term, the effects might not be apparent, but in the long run, Hua Country people are able to view Western countries more accurately.’

’The West, on the other hand, can’t view Hua Country accurately at all because of all this false information.’

’Their prejudice against Hua Country will make them arrogant and condescending, looking down on everyone.’

’But that’s dangerous for them. They’ll lose their vigilance and won’t be able to know their enemy and themselves to win every battle.’

’Hua Country is destined to compete with these nations. When facing a Western world that doesn’t understand Hua Country, it’s clear that Hua Country, which understands them better, will have an easier time dealing with them.’

After this trip abroad, Han Xiaorui encouraged herself to keep working hard, using this feeling of indignation as a source of strength.

’Hua Country will definitely rise.’

Once on the plane, Han Xiaoqing felt a little nervous.

Han Xiaorui, who was sitting right beside her, said, ”Don’t be afraid, I’m here!”

Sure enough, with her sister’s reassurance, Han Xiaoqing gradually calmed down.

The flight was a direct one to Shencheng.

As cooperation between Germany and Hua Country deepened, many people traveled between the two nations, so direct flights were available.

The journey was tedious, but thankfully, it was safe.

Han Xiaorui and her group finally arrived in Shencheng at eight in the evening.

Ye Feng had specifically arranged for a driver to bring the RV, and everyone boarded.

Ye Feng hugged his wife, then his children, and helped with the luggage.

After they landed safely, Han Xiaorui’s first concern was her sister. ”Xiao Jing, are you all right? Do you need to go to the hospital?”

Han Xiaoqing smiled. ”I’m fine, just a little hungry. The airplane food was terrible.”

Ye Feng replied, ”Everything’s ready at home. We can eat as soon as we get back. In the meantime, there are snacks in the RV—all your favorites.”

The RV drove smoothly down the road.

Once everyone was seated, they fastened their seatbelts.

Ye Feng handed out snacks and soda, or milk, to everyone.

Breathing in the air of her home country, Han Xiaoqing felt a deep sense of joy. ”I’m finally back! Wenxuan, how do you feel?”

Chen Wenxuan beamed. ”Fantastic.”

Germany might have been more materially prosperous, but it didn’t have the family she longed for.

’Coming home with my sister is the most comforting feeling in the world.’

The vehicle entered Jinshan Bay and dropped Liang Xiaoyu and Chen Yishui’s family at their door.

Han Xiaorui called out to them, ”Get home and get some rest!”

”Okay!” Liang Xiaoyu said with a smile. ”You all get some rest, too. It’s been a long trip.”

The children had slept for the entire flight, so they were full of energy.

Back home, before they even thought about eating, they had to say hello to the cats, dogs, chickens, and ducks.

Heizi and Dahuang, the family dogs, finally had their masters back, following them everywhere like two loyal guards.

Wu Yao was at home and had made hand-rolled noodles.

She had a pot of water boiling, just waiting for them to arrive so she could start cooking the noodles.

Fish maw and seafood chicken noodle soup.

It was fragrant, colorful, and looked absolutely appetizing.

Everyone got a bowl, and Han Xiaoqing wanted to bury her face in hers and not come up for air.

Even though she could get seafood in Germany, it was nowhere near as delicious as what she had at home.

For Han Xiaoqing, eating in Germany mostly meant cooking for herself.

She could never get used to the local cuisine.

During her years abroad, she had to cook for herself to get by.

There was a period when both Han Xiaoqing and Chen Wenxuan were so busy with work that they didn’t cook, just grabbing sandwiches or pasta.

That month, Han Xiaoqing lost over six pounds.

Chen Wenxuan had it even worse, losing nearly nine pounds.
