Warhammer Divine Throne

The bar began to fill with a joyful atmosphere, and the peasants selling grain in the city all had smiles on their faces.

”This year’s harvest is really good, even after paying taxes, I still have plenty left!”

”Ever since the Count came, each year has been better than the last!”

”I heard your family doesn’t eat black bread anymore?”

”It’s just great to have a full stomach.”

”I really hope to eat meat a few more times next year.”

”It’s strange, ever since our Count came here, there haven’t been any disasters, those beastmen in the forest seem to have disappeared.”

”Not really disappeared, my grandfather’s cousin’s uncle’s niece’s husband’s brother is from the Charon Forest Patrol Battalion, he said there are still beastmen in the forest, but we always drive them back.”

”Oh, I see.”

Everyone chatted convivially, and soon, they turned their attention to an important topic. Bono thought for a moment, then suddenly signaled everyone to quiet down,

”Everyone, do you think, like us, peasants who are not hungry, have grain in storage, and occasionally have meat to eat... are really peasants?”

”Bono, what nonsense are you talking about! We are all peasants, peasants for life. The reason we live like this now is because of our Count’s mercy. Let me tell you, whoever opposes our Count, I’ll be the first to bash their head in!”

”Right! Bash their head in!!!”

The tavern erupted in noise, all the peasants loudly declared, and many peasants looked at Bono with steadily reddening eyes, some immediately cursed: ”Bono, you son of a b*tch, are you thinking of rebelling?”

”Beat him! Get him!” some peasants yelled in a clamor.

”No, no! What I mean is, I... I want to be a free person!” Bono quickly voiced his thoughts, facing the attack from several peasants.

The atmosphere in the tavern changed slightly.

Becoming a free person, it’s not that easy? The only way to rise to a free person is to join the army, achieve military merit, and gain the Count’s promotion, then you can become a free person.

”When will there be a war?” a peasant expressed his desire wistfully, his question resonating with the crowd.

The peasants crave war very much, even more than the knightly nobility, as it’s the only way to change their fate.

Want to become a free person! Want to change fate! Even... want to become a master knight!

Then, there came a burst of noise and cheers from outside.

”The Ugoer Circus is here!”

”Let’s go see!”

The peasants came to the tavern entrance, indeed, an extravagant circus was passing through the town, some Ugoer people dressed in Northern Kislev Kingdom costumes were performing tricks, fire-swallowing, juggling along the street, eliciting cheers wherever they went.

What was even more refreshing for the peasants were the few big bears behind the circus, following the music played by the circus leader, these bears stood on their hind legs, dancing to the music.

The most eye-catching was a small golden-haired bear, dressed in a jacket, clapping to the rhythm, nodding along, incredibly endearing.

However, this made Laine, watching the performance from afar, slightly change his expression. Sitting in the pavilion, Laine immediately said to Kasenberg standing behind him, ”Have Captain Ivan change that small golden-haired bear’s clothes immediately, change to a different color.”

”Yes!”
