Warhammer Divine Throne

PS: Actually, I didn’t want to update in the middle of the night, but I’m really busy tomorrow, so I stayed up late to finish it tonight and just went ahead and posted it.

PS2: Thank you to the book friend ”Crying De Bean” for the generous reward, very grateful!

Old World, Count Glamorgan’s Domain, March, Gene Town.

Winter has finally passed, and after the last snow in March, spring has finally arrived. The bright spring light illuminates the sky of the Count’s Domain, and this year is another year of abundant harvest.

The amazing effects of the Lake Fairy Tower radiate from Gene Town in all directions. The closer the farmland is to the town, the more it yields. After the winter wheat has been harvested, many peasants find that after paying a significant fixed tax, there’s still plenty of food left for the family.

It’s not like it was five years ago. As long as you work hard, which peasant doesn’t have some stored grain at home? Because of this, many peasants have started to think about it; they secretly ask around in town to see if there are merchants buying grain.

Indeed, the peasants received good news: there are several merchants in town purchasing grain!

Bonova from Red Fish Village is one such peasant planning to sell grain in town. This peasant has quite a bit of stored grain; even just barley flour is piled up in many sacks. Everyone in the village knows that Bonova has connections in town, namely a Long Halberdier named Remon, who is a soldier of the Count. Since he says there are merchants buying, there must be merchants buying!

Uneducated Bonova firmly believes this because the Lord Count is Master Laine, and Master Laine is a Holy Grail Knight. He certainly won’t deceive us!

About ten peasants gathered together, arranged a few carts, and prepared to transport the grain to the town for sale.

The next day, everyone got up early, and these peasants frantically loaded bag after bag of grain onto their carts, ready to take it to town for sale.

”Are you going to town to sell grain?” While they were still loading, a tall, bald Kingdom Knight passed by, biting off half of an apple, with a fat pig wrapped around his arm and two axes strapped to his back, looking quite intimidating.

However, after five years of acquaintance, the peasants knew that Master Angerong wasn’t as scary as he looked and liked to do farm work, looking like a kind and genuine old farmer more than anything.

”Master Angerong! Good morning!” Several peasants quickly paused their work, wanting to kneel down and greet him. One peasant stuttered and said, ”Master Angerong, we’ve already paid our fixed taxes! We’re all good citizens, and we have some surplus grain at home that we can’t finish, so we want to sell it in town and buy some things back.”

”I see, then go quickly.” Angerong didn’t mind and nodded. ”What are you selling?”

”Mainly barley flour, wheat flour, buckwheat, millet, and many vegetables like carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, beetroot, onions, and garlic.” The peasants were a bit nervous, so they had to open their goods and show Angerong.

”I remember carrots and cauliflower sell well in town. I wish you a good price!” Angerong turned and left.

The group of peasants continued on their way.

The road to town gradually became congested, with many horses and carts heading into town, slowing down the pace. The peasants squeezed together, waiting to enter the town.

”Now there are so many people in town! So many unfamiliar faces, Southern Men, Imperial Men, and I heard even Northern Men have arrived recently?”

”Gosh, so many people selling grain!”

”Hurry up! If we’re late, we might not get a good price.”

”Bonova, where’s that Long Halberdier Remon you know?”

”He’s already waiting for us in town!”

It took them a long time to enter town, but Remon was already waiting inside. This young man has gotten quite beefy since he started serving the Count, wearing well-made linen clothes covered by a fur cape. What makes the peasants even more envious is the fashionable hat he wears, with one side high and the other low, with a badge printed on it.

That’s the soldier’s identification!

”Uncle Bonova, you’ve come to town? So many things!” Remon was on his break today and quickly came out to greet them. Although the town’s streets were quite spacious, the multiple carts still took up a large space. The peasants were exhausted after the journey, but the thought of selling grain for profit made them all energetic.

It’s all theirs! After paying the Master Knight, whatever remains is theirs!

”Remon, where’s the highest grain price?” Bonova, in his thirties, took a few breaths, looking hopefully at the young man in front of him.

”Oliver Commerce Association and Hadrian Commerce Association offer good prices, and other associations are passable. Recently, I’ve heard that trade routes between the Empire and our Brittania via land have been cut off, so with no grain imports from the Empire, Paragon Duchy, Montfort Duchy, and Jisoleox Duchy are all facing a grain shortage. Merchants from Imperial Middle Territory are also importing a large amount of grain. Grain is pretty good to sell, and...” Remon deliberately paused for a moment before continuing, ”Now many free people in town aren’t satisfied with eating black bread anymore.”

”Oh oh oh!” The peasants didn’t understand what it meant for trade routes to be cut off, and the grain shortages in those duchies seemed so far away. What they heard was that grain sold well, and so did vegetables. That’s enough!
