Therefore, from the expressions of son-in-law Laine and daughter Surya, it is clear that this marriage is very happy.

Francois simultaneously tells Laine that not all marriages are annoying; your union with Surya is not one of them. You don’t need to burden yourself mentally, just enjoy your married life.

Laine’s mind went around in circles, and after a long time of thinking, he finally understood the vast amount of content Francois conveyed in this story.

The information was substantial. The Count exchanged a glance with his wife and then nodded, indicating understanding.

Laine wanted to say something, but Francois gestured for him to continue listening: ”My story isn’t finished yet.”

”Alright.” Laine lowered his head, truly listening to his father-in-law’s teachings from the position of a son-in-law.

”After the thirtieth year of the founding of the Knight Kingdom, in the second year of the reign of the second Knight King ’Reckless’ Lewis, and the sixth year after Arthur’s death, Sirulf and Landuin held a champion duel. It is said the reason was related to Sirulf’s wife, Arthur’s sister Rosalind, having an affair with Landuin, and it was also related to the long-standing territorial disputes between the Leonais Duchy and the Musillon Duchy.”

”In this duel, Landuin defeated Sirulf and left a terrible scar on Sirulf’s face, turning decades of deep camaraderie into nothing. After the duel ended, the sorrowful Landuin returned to Musillon and secluded himself, never leaving his castle again. Forty-three years after the duel ended, Landuin was found dead in his sleep. This Holy Sanctuary Holy Grail Knight, Duke of Musillon, whose prowess surpassed even Arthur’s, died before reaching the age of one hundred and fifty,” Francois continued.

The Holy Sanctuary Holy Grail Knights live very long lives. Another Holy Sanctuary Holy Grail Knight, Sirulf, lived until nearly three hundred and fifty before dying in battle by the Sannes River.

Upon hearing this story, everyone sighed. The human compatriots of the past, close comrades on the Knightly Path, Holy Grail Companions, Sirulf and Landuin fought side by side in the twelve major battles of the founding, yet turned against each other due to certain causes, leaving knights deeply regretful.

”...The passion brought by dreams always cools while desires know no bounds, even for the Holy Grail Knights. I believe that when Lord Landuin defeated Sirulf, his heart must have been in pain,” Laine said in a low voice. ”That’s why he never left his castle again. He knew that his duel with Sirulf was not his wish, but he was not only a Holy Grail Knight; he was the Duke of Musillon! When Musillon’s interests were threatened, when his honor was threatened, he had to stand up and use all his strength to defeat Sirulf and end this dispute, otherwise this would be the greatest affront to the Knightly Path!”

”This is the second lesson I want to impart to you, Laine.” Francois’ azure eyes fixed on Laine, as he gently said: ”A group gathered simply by dreams and personal prestige cannot endure peacefully for long. Only mature regulations and systems can ensure the operation of the Royal Court. Since that duel, the second generation Knight King Lewis took warning heavily and formally began drafting the initial knightly laws, establishing the prototype of the Knightly Path and improving it. He also established a complete feudal system and laws of the Kingdom. Since then, no Holy Grail Knight has dueled because of disputes.”

”Thank you for your guidance!” Laine bowed deeply again, having learned from it.

”Hmm.” Francois accepted Laine’s salute gracefully. The Duke hesitated for a moment and finally said.

”’Tiger’ Richard is planning to abdicate. His intended successor is ’Lionheart’ Duke Lorne. The matter of the King’s abdication has already been placed on the agenda of the Royal Court. Laine... what do you intend to do?”
