”We take the Jisoleox Path.” Julius stated calmly, ”It’s the fastest route, and with so many knights, and two Holy Grail Knights, we don’t have to worry about security issues.”

”Hmm.” Laine thought that the army of over a thousand was enough to ensure safety. The Jisoleox Path, unlike the Axe Bite Pass, might be attacked by the Green-skinned Army, but with sufficient troop numbers, it would be easy to pass through.

”Then from now on, we’ll all be the Lady’s knights.” Laine extended his hand, and Julius reached out to shake it, ”To be honest, I’m not qualified to shake hands with you, but I’ll accept your goodwill.”

Laine remained silent. He was now a Holy Grail Knight, two ranks above Julius.

”Do you know that guy? He looks really annoying!” Julius didn’t dwell on the matter, as considering his abilities, he was already approaching the level of an ordinary Holy Grail Knight. What he lacked now was enough experience and prestige. A Kingdom Knight generally walks the Path of the Holy Grail after turning thirty, and he was still too young, not yet at the age for the Holy Grail Trial.

Laine looked up and noticed a young noble persistently pestering Surya, talking endlessly about something that the Lady Knight was clearly disinterested in but was still trying hard to listen to.

”That person is Edmond Huron. During the recent incident with the Aesthetic Society in Marinburg, he was in the spotlight... the Duke of Marinburg, Lord Schultz, once wanted to punish him severely. Yet somehow, this guy still had some connections, and his father owed quite a few favors, so he got spared.” Laine smiled bitterly and shook his head repeatedly.

Edmond Huron was deeply implicated in the Aesthetic Society incident, becoming the main figurehead pushed out by the great nobles of Marinburg. This unlucky fellow had his position as an Upper Senator revoked due to this matter and faced further accountability.

Schultz had wanted to deal with it harshly, but since his father, the late Old Earl Huron, still had some influence and capital, and other Upper Senators didn’t want to be too severe, and after checks from the Church, this young great noble’s corruption wasn’t too deep and could be purified. Edmond barely escaped disaster; his count title was demoted to baron, and his consortium was wildly counterattacked by other merchants from the Lower House, losing several trade routes and shops consecutively, causing a significant decline.

Since Agneda’s death, Edmond has been mentally unstable. When Laine and Julius approached, the two knights heard Edmond enthusiastically talking to Surya. They seemed to be discussing issues of growth.

”If you ask me, Miss Surya, perhaps you chose the wrong direction.” Edmond said to the Lady Knight in quite a self-righteous tone, ”Many people haven’t tasted what real life is, what real joy feels like.”

”When I’m enjoying riches and luxury, you knights are on the training field, accompanied by mud, sweat, and the scorching sun. Your skin gradually darkens due to the sun, and your tender hands become calloused from gripping weapons for long periods.” This young noble spoke with deep emotion, looking rather pityingly at the Lady Knight’s perfect and exquisite face.

”While you still strive and work hard in your studies, I have attended countless high-class banquets, enjoyed every delicacy and beauty that the Old World has to offer. Can’t you enjoy it too? No, as long as you want, you can enjoy it too. But you’ve all been deceived, deceived by a lie. You don’t even know what true happiness is. You devote your limited life to infinite wars, which are not worth it at all.”

”You carry out those boring charges on the battlefield, sacrificing your lives in vain. Have you ever thought about your parents waiting for you at home? Have you thought about your friends and family who care about you? Life is precious, so why go to the battlefield to die? Is it worth it? Think about it, when you die, everything turns to nothing; all that’s left is a little grave watered by the tears of your loved ones.” Edmond’s tone was emotionally charged, moving people to tears.

”Your youth and life are wasted in training and war. You don’t really understand what youthful regret is. Let me tell you, I have truly achieved a life without youthful regrets. I’ve enjoyed more happiness in my years than you will in a lifetime...”

Before he finished speaking, a tightly controlled, intensely angry voice came from behind. Just as he turned, an expertly aimed straight punch struck Edmond’s face, coated with makeup, causing it to cave in.

Several bloodied teeth fell to the ground, and the entire banquet was stunned by the unexpected turn of events.

”If you keep talking nonsense to my sister, I’ll judge you in the Lady’s name!”
