Warhammer Divine Throne

Mr. Laine thought for a long time but couldn’t find an answer until the white Divine Fire appeared behind him.

A pale fire descended behind Laine, and the gusts it stirred swept through the room, scattering its furnishings all over. A will filled with rage, anger, barbarism, ferocity, strength, courage, and glory descended.

”Boy, you offered Logan the last lament, and you found the remains of this White Wolf Paladin for me. Well done.” Yurik’s voice sounded behind Laine, filled with complex meanings.

”Greetings, Your Eminence, White Wolf War God!” Although Laine’s heart was a mix of emotions, he still knelt on one knee before Yurik, expressing his respect. Fresh chapters posted on NovєlFіre.net

Yurik’s avatar appeared in the room; he did not even spare much Divine Power to let his avatar manifest as a tall barbarian human, clad in a full set of Divine Armor and a wolf-skin cloak, holding the White Wolf Warhammer. This War God looked at Logan Flints’ remains, his tone filled with sorrow, ”A great Paladin did not die in battle but perished in such an obscure manner. Tell me, boy, who killed my Paladin?”

”It was a group of Kobolds, Your Eminence, White Wolf War God. The Kobolds tried to summon a Great Demon to descend, which was stopped by Commander Logan, but he was also heavily injured and eventually succumbed to the Kobolds’ frenzied attacks.” Laine had long prepared his excuse.

”Did you kill all those Kobolds then?” Yurik said calmly to Laine.

”Killed them all, the whole tribe.” Laine knew how much anger was hidden beneath Yurik’s calm face, so he also answered calmly.

”...” Yurik reached out to gently caress the remains, sighing deeply, ”I never blamed Logan for his failure. Facing a Chaos Army of over five hundred thousand, even I do not have absolute confidence in victory, yet he insisted on atoning for his failure...”

”In the end, he got what he wanted, a glorious death.” Laine stood behind Yurik, speaking slowly.

The white flame spread over the entire remains, the White Wolf Sacred Fire enveloped them, and then completely vanished. Yurik then turned around, his wolf eyes looking at Laine, ”Since you helped me recover Logan, I won’t blame you for embracing that Lake Jade Pool, but Laine, you had great potential to become a Teutonic Guard, and I had planned for you to take over as the Company Commander of the Seventh Company of the White Wolf Knight Order.”

The Teutonic Guard, formed from the most elite of White Wolf Knights, is specially tasked with the safety of the Wolrich Prince-Elector and the White Wolf Archbishop. Becoming a Teutonic Guard is just one step away from undergoing the White Wolf Sacred Fire trial, and having a Teutonic Guard in any noble family fills the entire family with honor.

Laine did not respond; this kind of posthumous empty promise left him feeling nothing.

”But I forgot about it.” Yurik said awkwardly, the White Wolf War God paused for a moment before continuing, ”I drank a lot with Tal, and after getting drunk, I forgot about this matter.”

Tal, the God of Nature, Yurik’s brother.

”...” Laine really didn’t know what to say, so he just kept his mouth shut.

”I’ll explain your matters to Maras, settle the rest yourself!” Yurik couldn’t maintain the avatar for long, and Laine didn’t provide Subspace energy for him; manifesting the avatar like this consumed a lot of Divine Power. The White Wolf War God hurriedly gave a few instructions and then left.

Laine could provide Subspace energy to let deities descend long-term and stably, which was a small secret between him and the Lake Fairy, and he did not intend to tell anyone. The Lake Fairy also hinted for him not to tell other deities about this matter.

After a while, Laine called in Alfred and Estelle. The three of them sat together with Hadrian, and the president of the Luigi Commerce Association impatiently said, ”Mr. Laine, have you found out the reason?”

”Yes, found out.” Laine knew that the real reason the miners went insane was due to Logan’s failed attempt, which triggered the defense mechanism of the Ancient Saint Altar. The slight energy and language of the Ancient Saints that leaked out were unbearable for normal humans, leading to mutations and hallucinations over time, eventually causing madness.

But this content couldn’t be told to Hadrian, so Laine conveyed the explanation he had given to the White Wolf War God to Hadrian, then added, ”Next, I will continue to clean out the Kobold tribe and various demons in the mine, and then you can resume operations.”

”Thank you very much, Mr. Laine!” Hadrian immediately stood up, expressing his gratitude to Laine, ”Indeed, I have always believed in Mr. Laine’s capability!”

”No thanks necessary, it’s simply our transaction, no need to thank.” Laine smiled slightly, if thanks were to be given, he should be thanking this wealthy merchant from the Southern Realm. If not for this matter, who knows when he would have found another Ancient Saint Altar.

So now he was in a good mood.

With Hadrian, the wealthy merchant’s deliberate friendship, and Laine in a good mood, over the next period, Laine took Alfred and Estelle to thoroughly clear out any potential threats in the mine, exterminating countless Kobolds.

The Kobolds were indeed very impressive; one litter could produce more than a dozen pups, and within just a few months these pups could reach maturity. If not controlled, two Kobolds in two years could spawn an entire tribe of Kobolds. To facilitate future mining, he must drive these Kobolds completely out of this vein.
