Warhammer Divine Throne

General Tobias Schwaben of the Marinburg Iris Guard held the Dwarf’s letter, reading it aloud in the Upper House: ”Dwarf King Rorrek believes that the target of this Green-skinned Army is humanity! He hopes we prepare early, as the Dwarves may not be able to intercept them, and the Greenskins might reach Marinburg!

Everyone in the Upper House wore a serious expression. Having dealt with Dwarves for a long time, the Imperials naturally knew the Dwarves’ way of speaking.

If the letter from the Dwarves said they could handle it easily themselves, it meant the Dwarves had a slight advantage or were at least evenly matched.

If the Dwarves’ letter vaguely stated that they and the Greenskins were evenly matched, it indicated that the Dwarves were at a serious disadvantage, the situation was very dangerous, and the extent... the Empire has many professional scholars and secretaries who can judge from the wording of the Dwarves’ letter, the strength of writing, and the level of creases on the paper.

But now the message from Dwarf King Rorrek is that the Dwarves might not be able to intercept them, which can only indicate one situation: the Dwarves are very pessimistic about the situation, they are powerless, indirectly requesting human aid.

All the senators present understood.

”Our only good news is that the assembly of this Green-skinned Army is very slow, and we still have plenty of time to prepare for war,” said Sea God Archbishop Odrich.

The gathering of the Green-skinned Army has a characteristic, which is that from the initiation of gathering to completion, there is a rather long process. When a Green-skinned Warlord initiates a big waaagh!, it naturally attracts many Greenskin tribes and other Green-skinned Warlords to join, but in this case, none of the warlords will submit to another, including the goblins.

Therefore, a ”Big Chaos” is inevitable, only through an internal war will a true leader of the big waaagh! emerge, this process being quite long, Marinburg still has enough time to prepare. Chapters first released on novelfire(.)net

”What good is preparing for war? We claim to have more than ten thousand mercenaries and eight thousand cavalry, but you all know the number and combat power of Marinburg’s Iris Guard,” said Duke of Marinburg Schultz in a deep voice, clenching his fist: ”Only more than two thousand are truly combat-worthy, the rest are just police patrols and nominal mercenaries.”

Several members of the Upper House nodded, and Baron Grimmer continued: ”Facing the upcoming spring planting, it’s hard to recruit enough troops.”

”At this juncture, we can’t count on mercenaries; they might not fight to the death for this city,” Viscount Casanova also said.

”The Dwarves can barely protect themselves; they won’t provide us with more reinforcements,” another senator responded.

”If the High Elves were willing...” one senator tentatively asked, the High Elf Ambassador Tymag immediately shook his head, his tone extremely disdainful: ”Our soldiers are few, appearing only when defending the city, and absolutely no reinforcements will be sent.”

”We cannot defend the city! Absolutely cannot defend it!!!” Wealth Church Archbishop instinctively said, his view was unanimously agreed upon.

The prosperity of Marinburg must not be impacted, as it concerns everyone’s vital interests.

In fact, there has always been an option, but no one took the initiative to mention it, yet after all the available options were ruled out, they knew there was only one reliable choice left.

In the end, Schultz had to say it. The Duke of Marinburg sighed, intertwining his fingers, elbows resting on the sandalwood table: ”Request reinforcements from the Empire... everyone, prepare yourselves, the asking price of our new Emperor could be high.”

”At this point, there’s no other choice,” Sea God Archbishop Odrich also sighed.

Once the decision was made, there was no need for a fast horse; a simple letter was instantly transported magically from Marinburg’s Upper House directly to the Human Imperial Palace in Brunswick.

However, today Emperor Carl Franz Friedrich was not in the Imperial Palace.

Western Rick Territory, Griffin Knight Corps’ station, Griffin Cliff.

The dense forest sea extended into the depths of the mountains, the distant high mountains shrouded in clouds and mist. The footsteps of February had taken away most of the snow in the woodland, but the peaks and slopes were still covered with white snow, reaching into the depths of the white fog.

On the summit of the high mountains, many powerful creatures with wings on their backs were freely soaring in the sky. They spread their wings, constantly gliding from low altitudes, and then rising up into the high sky, asserting their dominion over this sky.

These legendary creatures are none other than the Griffins, renowned throughout the Continent. They have the body and claws of a lion, the head and wings of an eagle. The lion-like hindquarters have yellow-brown beast fur, while the eagle-like head to forelimbs is fully covered with golden eagle feathers. These powerful creatures combine a massive size with agile and sharp movements, each of their movements precise and balanced. This height of elegance does not hinder the Griffins’ combat capabilities nor serve as a weakness. On the contrary, Griffins do not just use their formidable claws and sharp beaks to tear apart enemies; they are also extremely skilled and impressively efficient fighters. Although highly skilled, Griffins rarely harm the innocent, but when hunting or defending their territory, they show no mercy or hesitation. They are fierce and ruthless, but not cruel.
