Warhammer Divine Throne

The Griffin True Silver Holy Sword, with the force of thunder, came crashing down on Mr. Laine’s head.

The Goddess of Revenge blazed with white flames. Mr. Laine gripped the hilt tightly, the blade of bright silver emitting a pale blue glow. Vast spiritual energy was infused into the Holy Sword, with explosive power that made the Griffin Duke take notice: ”Is this your strongest strike?”

Mr. Laine didn’t answer. He stepped forward, the Goddess of Revenge was connected to his bloodline, and he could feel the sword’s excitement, desiring to fight alongside him!

The godfather’s might, wrapped in the cold winds of winter, assaulted the godson’s heart, but the godson’s will stood firm like steel against the godfather’s power.

The Holy Sword swung, meeting Ivan’s fierce gaze head-on, while the Goddess of Revenge faced the Griffin True Silver Holy Sword directly.

When the blades clashed, for a moment, Amber Avenue shone as bright as day.

Anton was forced to retreat constantly by the blinding light, the Griffin Duke’s legitimate son’s only choice was to cover his eyes with his hand.

”Boom!!!” A violent explosion shattered the battlefield between Mr. Laine and Ivan into pieces, with huge rocks flying everywhere, and the loud noise waking many sleeping nobles.

A figure was blasted away from the center of light, landing on one knee, his face pale, with a trickle of blood at the corner of his mouth. The sleeve of his garment from the outer to the inner lining was turned to ashes, revealing his muscular arm. He stepped back several times, then stood up wordlessly, the flames on the Goddess of Revenge slightly diminished, but the light from its blade shone even brighter.

It was Mr. Laine! The Genetic Primarch stood proudly, gazing into the depths of the light source.

As the dust and radiance gradually dissipated, Ivan’s figure slowly emerged. The Griffin Duke, at the Holy Sanctuary Tier, stepped out unscathed. He raised his right hand, and his glove gradually disintegrated into ashes under Anton’s astonished gaze.

Ivan stared intently at his godson, as if reevaluating him anew.

After a long pause, Ivan let out a long sigh and put away the Griffin True Silver Holy Sword: ”It seems your wings have hardened, and you want to fly on your own.”

”I wonder if this brat’s strength is enough to gain your recognition?” Mr. Laine also put away the Goddess of Revenge. Though his internal organs had suffered quite an impact, as a Genetic Primarch his recovery was remarkable, and no effects were outwardly visible.

”Your strength already surpasses that of an ordinary Holy Grail Knight, no wonder... no wonder you have such ideas.” Ivan’s expression turned serious. He silently looked at Mr. Laine for a moment before sighing, ”You’d better find a time to explain everything to your adoptive father. Beyond that, I can’t control you anymore.”

”Alright, I understand, Ivan, Anton, good night!” Mr. Laine knew he had won the godfather’s acknowledgment. He proactively bid Ivan and Anton good night and then left alone in another direction.

The bright moonlight poured over the streets of Amber Avenue. Ivan watched Mr. Laine’s departing figure, standing still and speechless.

Another fledgling had flown from under his wings.

His wings were secure, warm, yet were also a form of constraint. Where would this fledgling named Laine fly to in the future? Would his great ambition bring him supreme glory... or a tragic downfall?

No one knew.

”Mr. Laine’s growth rate is beyond my imagination, father.” Anton broke the silence. The always confident Griffin Earl suddenly showed a hint of dejection: ”I always thought I was excellent enough until I met Mr. Laine.” ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ novel-fire.net

”Mr. Laine is an anomaly; I rarely encounter young men as outstanding as him.” The Griffin Duke nodded, looking at his legitimate son: ”The Empire has Caldo, Nord has Mr. Laine, and Brittania has Julius. These strong youths will lead humanity forward. Yet compared to Caldo’s and Julius’s exceptional backgrounds, Mr. Laine as a Nord Country Bumpkin’s adopted son being so excellent is indeed beyond my expectation. Anton, do you know how much I invested in nurturing you?”

”That must be an astonishing number, father.” Anton, thirty-three this year and in the Legendary Initial Tier, was still considered mature enough. He knew how much effort his father had put into nurturing him.

”That is at an incalculable cost, so you understand how valuable it is for a Nord Country Bumpkin’s adopted son like Mr. Laine to reach this point? You need to be more excellent, my son.” Ivan took this opportunity to educate his legitimate son. Anton had only recently advanced to the Legendary Tier in the past two years, which was relatively fast, making him somewhat complacent, so he used Mr. Laine to give him a reminder.

”I understand, father.” Anton suddenly asked, ”I’ve seen Caldo, but I’ve never met the much-talked-about Duke of Winford’s legitimate son, Julius.”

”... If nothing unexpected happens, you’ll meet him soon enough.”

......

When Mr. Laine returned home, his hidden injuries were completely healed. Mr. Laine exhaled deeply, looking at his fully exposed arm, a gleam flashed in his eyes.

The godfather’s strength was evident to all, even among humans, his strength was among the top tier. Earning his acknowledgment was an important benchmark.

He opened the door, and it wasn’t too late yet. All three maids were present, and upon seeing Mr. Laine return, Amelia immediately lifted her skirt and performed a curtsy: ”Mr. Laine!”
