Warhammer Divine Throne

Of course, the soldiers and mercenaries of this Wealth Empire have to hand over half, and the peasants possibly more.

No matter which army they came from, upon seeing the blood-covered Laine approach, they would greet him respectfully. Today, this Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy slew a Green-skinned Warlord, a goblin Great Shaman, a two-legged flying dragon, and hundreds of greenskins in one battle. His bravery overshadowed the entire battlefield; it was he who sounded the horn of counterattack.

”Well done, my godson.” Griffin Duke Ivan slowly approached, looking at Laine with an approving gaze, ”Half of today’s victory should be credited to you.”

”Is the Beast Calamity alright?” Laine nodded, speaking softly.

”It’s a bit injured, but it should recover in a month or two, not a big problem.” Ivan looked at the devastated field with a comforting tone, ”This way, the greenskins at Ginter Mine won’t have the ability to organize a big Waaagh for at least three years.”

”That’s a good thing.” Laine nodded. This victory protected hundreds of thousands of people in Marinburg and its surrounding areas, a victory worth remembering.

Ivan only said a few words before leaving, loudly ordering the soldiers to clean the battlefield as soon as possible. This plain needs to be thoroughly purified with fire, or it will become a breeding ground for greenskins.

Greenskins are neither oviparous nor viviparous creatures. They are composed of green spore tissues. When a greenskin enters the breeding period or is near death, the spores that make up its body will shed in large quantities, embedding into the ground like seeds.

Once the seeds mature, many mushrooms will sprout from the ground. As the mushrooms grow, creatures underground will gradually incubate and emerge. The first wave to break through the soil is the flatus sprites and goblins, who will protect and nurture these mushrooms, until larger Orcs burst forth.

Therefore, the battlefield must be thoroughly cleansed with flames, or else, in a few months, it will become a new hub and birthplace for greenskins.

Laine sighed gently; he knew more from his father’s knowledge. Greenskins were specifically created for war by the Ancient Saint, their sole purpose being battle and slaughter. Normally, any species has needs for food and reproduction, but greenskins have none. Their reproductive method has been explained, and their bodies are composed of green spores, allowing them to complete feeding via photosynthesis. Of course, they also eat for fun.

Their only joy in existence is fighting and destruction.

These creatures can never be completely eradicated; they will always regenerate in dark corners and form a new wave of Waaagh! Humans can only suppress them, never truly eliminate them.

”Mr. Laine!” A young knight ran toward Laine, carrying many goblin heads of greenskins in his hand, ”Could you take a look at my trophies?”

It was Lops, the young Wandering Knight who participated in the battle. He held several Green-skinned Lads’ heads, eager to show them to Laine.

”Nicely done!” Laine noticed he also had many bandages on him; this Wandering Knight truly fought with his life.

”Could you give me a chance to follow you, Mr. Laine?” Lops said seriously, his armor damaged in many places, held up by his long halberd, a scar on his face making him look formidable, ”Watching you, I finally know what a true knight is.”

”That’s what I wanted to say too, my friend.” Alfred, trembling, approached. His body was covered with scars, his shield dented, and his longsword blade full of notches. He had quickly bandaged himself, showing Laine a difficult smile, ”Count me in when you head to your territory. I want to see what lies beyond the mountain.”

”Sure, prepare yourselves well, and Afu, are your injuries all right?” Laine was worried about his childhood friend’s injuries, but Alfred stopped him, assuring him he was fine, squeezing out a grin despite his pain, ”Friend, stay back, you smell terrible.”

”???” Laine was puzzled at first but soon realized his body was covered in greenskin blood, dragon bile, and his own sweat and dirt, indeed giving off a foul odor. Moreover, Laine himself had sustained some injuries, but none were fatal.

However, how could Alfred criticize Laine? He smelled the same: ”Hey, Afu, you dare to criticize me? You smell terrible too, you know?”

”No matter how bad it is, it can’t top yours, stinky knight Laine! Hahahahahahahaha!”

”Hahahahahahahaha!”

”Hahahaha~ Ouch! It hurts!”

On the Kolesen Plain after the battle, the laughter of several young men echoed.

The knights of Brittania finally dismounted to rest. The intensity of the battle had exhausted the young Ranger Knights. Fortunately, the battle was over, allowing them to relax somewhat. The remaining Kingdom Knights did not scold them for slacking off, instead casting complex glances at these young Ranger Knights, for the older knights had experienced the same.

When they were young, they too charged forward passionately like these youths, mimicking the historical heroes they idolized or the unfailing protagonists from the fairy tales told by their mothers, driven by zeal, ignorance, and youthful courage.

Amidst the clash of reality and dreams, the young Ranger Knights would eventually come to understand their destinies and undergo a transformative baptism. They must endure numerous trials of blood and fire to grow from boys into true men. The weak would perish in this process, the flawed branches pruned away, leaving noble titles only for those truly worthy of honor.

Just like Laine today, if previously the knights felt discontent with the Lake Fairy’s special treatment of Laine, after witnessing his performance, even the most arrogant Ranger Knight would find it hard to challenge him—he was simply too strong.

While the Human Alliance Army cleaned the battlefield, about twenty kilometers away on a hillside.

Four beams of golden light descended from the sky.

Emerging from the light were four towering figures, each over three meters tall, clad in golden full-body armor with golden wing motifs. All had markings and decorations of a golden double-headed eagle without exception.

The golden spired power armor helmets were topped with long red tassels. Among the four, two wielded long halberds, one wielded a great sword, and another held a large eagle banner.

Pausing for a moment, the four figures curiously examined their surroundings, one murmuring, ”As Your Majesty said, our power is indeed restricted in this cursed place. Look, my reaction is 0.3 seconds slower than in the Imperial Palace. Under normal circumstances, I’d have to retire.”

”Regardless, receiving Your Majesty’s command makes this the most glorious day in our millennium as the eleven. We will execute our mission perfectly!”

”Yes! Remember, His Majesty instructed us to refrain from unnecessary killing. The situation in this world is complex; our primary mission is to protect the Primarch!”

”Alright, alright! I got it.”

The four figures were discussing strategies when they suddenly heard distant hurried footsteps. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ novel⟡fire.net

Over a thousand greenskins charged toward them, shouting, ”Waaagh!”

”Why are there always these damned big mushrooms everywhere?” one golden-armored figure casually complained, then raised his weapon, ”Greenskins and Chaos are exemptions! Brothers, move out!”

”For the Emperor!!”

Ten minutes later, the field was strewn with countless greenskin corpses; every last one of the thousand or more greenskins lay dead, none escaped.
