Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2025: Chapter 2026: Remember

Although Su Yi Jing has now become a Prince, it does not hinder him from inheriting the position of King of Xiyun in the future.

Wang Youbao became the Prime Minister, and many people came to congratulate him. Wang Youbao was very happy and felt that he had brought honor to his ancestors.

With Wang Youbao’s family, they felt even more proud and confident.

...

On June 14th, taking advantage of Wang Youbao’s day off, An Yiyun came to the Prime Minister’s residence. First, to congratulate Wang Youbao on being promoted to the head of officials, and second, to discuss his matter with Wang Wenya.

”You and Wenya?” Wang Youbao was incredulous at first, then understood and said, ”No wonder she was unwilling when we wanted to arrange a marriage for her, it turns out that...”

An Yiyun immediately apologized, ”It’s all my fault. I have been busy with state affairs and neglected romantic matters, leaving Wenya with grievances she could not voice.”

”So what does the Prince mean now...?”

”You’d better not call me Prince. Didn’t you used to call me Yiyun?”

”But you weren’t a prince before. Now it’s different.”

”Then if I marry Wenya in the future, will you still call me that?”

”Naturally.” Wang Youbao laughed and said, ”I understand what you mean. You want to make it official with Wenya, right?”

An Yiyun nodded, ”Originally, I wanted to propose like an ordinary family, but as the fourth son of the King of Xiyun and now being titled as a prince, I cannot proceed as such. I must first gain approval from my parents and then be granted marriage officially. I am here to inform you and Sister Wuyu so you won’t worry again about why Wenya rejects your marriage arrangements.”

Wang Youbao laughed, ”Now that we know about your matters, we naturally won’t worry about her lifelong happiness anymore. It’s just that your Sister Wuyu is not at home, she’s gone to the military camp. I will inform her when she returns. She’ll surely be surprised about you and Wenya. She never imagined Wenya would marry into the Royal Family.”

Once Wenya marries An Yiyun, she will become a Princess, enjoying great honor, and their Wang Family as well will bask in this glory.

”I will set off to see my parents in three days. The journey is long and being granted the marriage will take some time.”

”I understand.”

”May I...” An Yiyun hesitated, ”May I see Wenya now?”

Wang Youbao was momentarily surprised before laughing, ”Of course.” He paused and asked, ”Do you know the way to her room?”

Knowing that Wang Youbao was teasing, as he used to visit Wang Wenya’s room often with Wang Haomiao, An Yiyun rarely blushed, nodded, and said softly, ”I know.”

...

Three days later, An Yiyun set off to the place where An Jing and Xiao Changyi were living in seclusion.

Su Yixing and An Yiqing worried about An Yiyun, so they accompanied him, along with Huo Qingyi following Su Yixing and Gong Le with An Yiqing, making them a group of five traveling together.

As An Yiyun was not suited for long rides on horseback or a rushed journey in a carriage, the five traveled slowly by carriage, taking nearly two months to reach An Jing and Xiao Changyi.

On the day they arrived, it was coincidentally August 8th.

Since An Yiyun left for the Imperial City last January, An Jing and Xiao Changyi had not seen him. Now, after 20 months, seeing their son An Yiyun again, An Jing was overjoyed.

Xiao Changyi, too, rarely smiled.

”It’s good that you’re back, it’s good that you’re back, though you’ve lost so much weight you look different,” An Jing was happy yet pained for An Yiyun. Among her seven sons, only this one had become emaciated, clearly not in good health, and it really hurt her to see him like this.
