Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2023: Chapter 2024: Let Me Tell You a Secret

Later, she was born. At that time, he didn’t have a younger sister yet, and because she was particularly well-behaved, he doted on her like a sister, allowing her to follow him obediently.

As she grew up, about two years ago, she suddenly shyly confessed to him that she liked him. Before he could reply, she ran away bashfully.

It was then that he began to contemplate what kind of feelings he had for her.

Initially, it was indeed sibling-like affection, but ever since she confessed her feelings to him, the relationship between them had gradually changed. Even though he hadn’t told her he liked her, he felt that spending a lifetime with her like this wouldn’t be bad at all.

She really is well-behaved and quiet, often making others overlook her presence. But as soon as you turn around, you would find her there, looking at you, watching over you, her eyes only on you...

That feeling was indescribably pleasant.

Thinking of this, An Yiyun gently held Wang Wenya’s hand, with a slight smile and a tender voice, comforting her: ”Don’t cry, I’m fine. I have to stay alive to marry you, so I won’t let anything happen to myself.”

Wang Wenya’s tears hadn’t stopped yet, but because of An Yiyun’s words, her face instantly flushed red with shyness.

An Yiyun looked at her red face and continued to smile: ”Once I get a little better, I’ll go to your house and propose, so we can settle our matter.”

Wang Wenya kept her head down, feeling very shy, and replied softly: ”Mm.”

”I’ve planned to marry you, so without me saying it, you should know what kind of feelings I have for you, right?” An Yiyun teased her.

Wang Wenya, nervously twisting her handkerchief, still kept her head down and after biting her lip gently, whispered: ”I don’t know.”

An Yiyun instantly laughed, understanding she wanted him to say it directly again, so he said: ”I like you, so I want to marry you.”

This time, Wang Wenya was so shy that even her ears turned red. After a while, she spoke in an especially soft voice: ”I like you too, Uncle Yun.”

Although her voice was very soft, An Yiyun still heard it clearly. He even deliberately teased her again: ”What did you say? I didn’t hear it clearly.”

But Wang Wenya was too embarrassed to say it again, with her face burning red.

An Yiyun didn’t tease her further but asked: ”Earlier, I thought my health could hold up for a few more years, and selfishly, I wanted you to wait a few more years before settling things with you. Do you blame me?”

Wang Wenya shook her head and said: ”You’re doing important things, how could I blame you.” After a pause, her voice became very soft again: ”No matter how many years, I’ll wait.”

”You won’t have to wait many years. After our engagement, we should be able to marry very soon.” After a pause, ”Let me tell you a secret.”

”What secret?”

An Yiyun smiled silently first, ”My second brother thinks no one knows, but I accidentally overheard Qingyi calling him ’husband.’ He should have secretly married Qingyi. As soon as I tell this to my third brother, he will immediately marry Lele, and then we can get married too. But after marriage, you’ll have to endure following me to the countryside to serve my parents.”

Being able to marry her beloved sooner, Wang Wenya was very happy and also very shy, her face and ears turned even redder, but she still softly said: ”Serving parents-in-law is a rightful duty, it’s not a hardship at all.”

An Yiyun said nothing more, his gaze softened, and he tightened his grip on Wang Wenya’s hand.
