Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Matchmaker, Help Me, I’m Desperate for Money

Making an announcement?

The phrase sounded strangely familiar to Zhang Zhe.

He immediately looked in the direction of the voice.

The Matchmakers were all looking, and of course, the other gawkers couldn’t help but join in.

The person who had climbed the tree was a skinny young man who bore a striking resemblance to Zhang Yishan. He was sitting on a fork in the tree, leaning back against a branch, and holding a piece of paper densely covered with writing.

A crowd of onlookers had gathered under the tree, many of them holding up their phones to record. They were probably curious to see what kind of stunt he was about to pull.

”Aunties and uncles, brothers and sisters, let me introduce myself.”

”I was born in the 2000s, I’m 25, and I have an associate’s degree.”

”My monthly salary is 5,000, I don’t have a car or a house, and my hobbies are traveling, swimming, and reading.”

”I won’t go into my other stats. I’m right here, so you can all see for yourselves.”

”Now, I’ll state my requirements.”

”For the woman, I require her to be over 165cm tall, weigh no more than 110 jin, and be good-looking. I’m very particular about appearances—I can’t bring myself to kiss someone I don’t find attractive.”

”No plastic surgery, no tattoos, no unstable personalities.”

”No one who can’t do housework, no one who works in the medical aesthetics industry, no one who’s been a streamer, no one over 35, and no one with an outstanding ex-boyfriend...”

[6666]

[This list of requirements is just unbeatable.]

[Is he imitating Li Lei’s stunt?]

[Nice. We need more warriors like this.]

[Bro, you can’t just list demands like that. How many women would even be left after that filtering?]

[No problem. This is the way. Fight magic with magic.]

Zhang Zhe really hadn’t expected men in Qing City to start standing up and making these kinds of videos. It was a pleasant surprise.

They might not have much of an impact in the short term, but real change always starts with small things like this. As someone once said, a single spark...

”Why are people chasing clout from gender antagonism here too?” Teacher Wang muttered from the side. ”But oh well, at least this means we can take a break.”

”Sister Wang, to say they’re just chasing clout is to underestimate them,” Zhang Zhe said, shaking his head and refuting Teacher Wang’s opinion.

”Them?”

”Yes. Didn’t you see the young guys in the front row? They look really excited to be filming.”

”Probably his classmates,” Teacher Wang guessed.

”Possibly.”

”This kind of traffic is tiny, almost impossible to monetize.”

Zhang Zhe had a friend who used to specialize in making this kind of content. As it turned out, not only did he get reported, but his account’s reach was also restricted.

Even if you got lucky and gathered some followers, there’s no way to monetize it.

The ”boxing” women are the ones who are really willing to splash the cash. Just look at the stand-up comedy scene—those groups are already well-organized. So if he were really just in it for the clout, who would do *this*?

It would be much better to just talk about the stock market. When there’s a big surge, not only will your fans shower you with gifts, but you can also get a piece of the action yourself.

”Why don’t you give it a try?” Teacher Wang suggested to Zhang Zhe. ”I think your image is much better than that kid’s.”

”No, no way. I’m trying to get married. The moment I get married, my whole persona would collapse.”

Zhang Zhe chuckled and settled down, ready to see if anyone in Qing City would get triggered.

”Young man, you only said what you *don’t* want. What is it that you *do* want?”

”Whatever is left after excluding what I don’t want, I want.” The young man waved the paper in his hand. ”Priority will be given to those who know how to give and are willing to spend money on a guy.”

”I think I’m a very outstanding guy, and I want to find a girl who will be good to me. And how do you tell if she’ll be good to me? Naturally, by seeing if she’s willing to spend money.”

”Whoa!” an old man exclaimed in surprise.

The old man had lived for decades and had never seen a move like this.

”You sound a lot like a Matchmaker over there. He’s the one who suggests women should hand over their salaries.”

”Yeah, yeah, he really does.”

”Why don’t we have the Matchmaker come analyze him?”

[Brother Zhang is being called out.]

[Hey streamer, why don’t you go analyze this guy?]

[Come on, he’s just putting on a show. He’s not actually looking for a partner.]

[The security guards are gonna come and drag him away any minute now.]

Of course, Zhang Zhe had no intention of joining the spectacle.

The guy was using a script commonly seen from women at these matchmaking events. If he went over and questioned him like a proper Matchmaker, he’d probably stump the poor fellow.

So, even though some aunties and uncles in the distance were waving at him, he just smiled back and shook his head.

Just as he was enjoying the show, a young, masked woman suddenly sat down across from him.

”Matchmaker, can I ask you some questions even without a profile card?”

”Are you asking for yourself?” Zhang Zhe asked, looking into her eyes.

The young woman had almost no crow’s feet at the corners of her eyes, which meant she was either very young or had gotten cosmetic work done, like injections.

”Yes, for myself.”

”I’m a little short on cash. I need money urgently right now.”

’???’ Something felt off to Zhang Zhe.

Beside him, Teacher Wang was in the middle of drinking water. When she heard this, she didn’t even twist the cap back on before reaching out to nudge Zhang Zhe. ”Watch yourself. We’re live.”

”Do you mind being on the livestream?” Zhang Zhe asked, pointing to the phone beside him. ”If you do, I can turn it off first.”

”I don’t mind, but... could you not film me for a second? Let me show you my face.”

After Teacher Wang moved the phone’s camera away, the young woman quickly took off her mask. She pinched her own cheeks and nose, saying, ”This is all-natural. I’ve never had any work done.”

”???”

[Is the damn streamer keeping the view to himself? Reported!]

[Law student passing by. Hey streamer, ever heard of Article 359, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code?]

[I just want to know what she scores out of 10.]

[Brother Zhang really treats us like family, huh? Discussing this kind of shady business right out in the open?]

”Miss, what are you trying to do? Are you trying to sell something?”

Zhang Zhe’s understanding was this: the young woman said she needed money and then showed him her face. That meant there were only two possibilities:

She was selling her body, or she was selling her eggs.

He wasn’t familiar with the situation here in Qing City, but in the matchmaking corners of Shencheng City and Shenghai, there were people involved in this kind of illegal business.

Especially the latter.

If those highly educated single women showed too much desire for money on their profile cards, criminals would call to contact them.

A classmate of Zhang Zhe’s had encountered this before. For a woman who had graduated from a Project 985 university, the offer was 50,000 for one egg. If she had participated in the Math Olympiad and won an award, they would add another 30,000.

’Have I run into a criminal gang?’

Zhang Zhe stared intently at the woman’s face until she put her mask back on.

’That way, if I have to give a statement, I’ll be able to provide some useful details for the investigation.’

”’Selling’ is a bit of a crude way to put it, isn’t it?” The woman shook her head. ”I still have my dignity.”

”This has nothing to do with dignity, does it? The main issue is that it’s illegal.”

”Illegal?” Hearing this, the woman looked shocked. ”What do you guys do? Aren’t you a matchmaking agency?”

She scrutinized Zhang Zhe and Teacher Wang. ”Are you legitimate Matchmakers? Your business seems pretty crooked, doesn’t it?”

”Of course I’m a legitimate Matchmaker,” Zhang Zhe said righteously. ”I’m worried *you’re* the one who isn’t.”

”Out with it. What do you really want? Why come to a Matchmaker when you need money?”

”I want to marry a rich man,” the woman said with a slight frown. ”As long as your agency thinks it’s a viable match, I’m game.”
