Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 127: Chapter 127: A Matter of Course

Inside the Zhuyin Marriage Agency.

Jiang Qi, who bore a striking resemblance to Fu Shouer, was secretly gloating:

’This feels amazing, just amazing. She hadn’t felt this good in a long time, not since she’d married an old man for his money.’

She had only been streaming for three hours and had already landed three clients.

And every single one of them looked like a fat sheep, ripe for the shearing.

Jiang Qi found it strange. Why hadn’t she encountered so many potential clients during her previous streams? Could it really be because of the few hundred extra viewers on the stream?

’That can’t be right, can it?’

Of course, with a mind like hers, she couldn’t possibly understand that a livestream’s audience turns over. Zhang Zhe had been streaming for so long that his viewers had long since changed to match his style.

While it might have seemed like only a few hundred people were added, in reality, the thousand or so viewers were mostly new audience members drawn in by Zhang Zhe. The makeup of the viewership was completely different from before.

Jiang Qi didn’t understand it, but that didn’t stop her from reeling in customers.

And just like that, today’s fourth client was about to ”fall for it.”

Jiang Qi was in the middle of registering the client’s information when, mid-question, the stream suddenly went silent. She looked up and saw:

’Huh? Where’d my stream go?’

’Why did it end?’

She quickly tried to start it again, but less than 10 seconds after going live, it shut down once more, this time with a notification popping up: login from another location.

Someone was kicking her off the account.

”It has to be Zhang Zhe!”

”He’s sabotaging me!”

Jiang Qi had never been so sharp in her life. Before the stream, she had already cleared it with everyone else at the agency, and no one would disrespect her like this.

”What does he think he’s doing?”

Without a second thought, Jiang Qi found Zhang Zhe’s number in the company directory and furiously dialed it.

The call connected with a BEEP, but before she could even speak...

...she heard Zhang Zhe say from the other end:

”Jiang Qi, don’t you go anywhere. Wait for me at the office.”

”I’ll be there in a bit.”

”Have you no shame? Secretly ruining our company’s stream on the weekend, is that it? Are you a spy from another agency?”

”If you keep streaming like that, the account will turn to garbage, you know that? You damn **.”

This verbal assault from Zhang Zhe left Jiang Qi a little stunned.

She didn’t even have time to react before he hung up.

Meanwhile, in a taxi, Zhang Zhe hung up the phone and immediately resumed his heated argument with Jiang Qi’s mentor, Sister Zhou, in the group chat.

”A girl asks how to marry into a rich family, and your apprentice teaches her to get pregnant to force the marriage?”

”You tell me, how many rich guys actually fall for that trick?”

”Xiaowang’s daughter is the spitting image of her dad, but do you see his family showing any intention of acknowledging her?”

”Not everyone is like Xiaowang,” Sister Zhou argued stubbornly in the chat. ”Every method we recommend is a verified and viable path. We’ve had clients succeed with them before.”

”Succeeded before? And here I was, thinking every single one of them succeeded.”

”Your precious apprentice just recommended this to two girls in a row.”

”So what?” Sister Zhou was completely unconcerned. ”If she’s giving that advice, it just means the girl’s own qualifications are poor. This is the only way for her to defy fate and change her life.”

”She’s the one who chose it. Are you starting to empathize with her now?”

”Don’t they choose it because they’re being led on by certain unscrupulous matchmakers?”

”Matchmaking is supposed to be a noble profession that helps people fulfill their dreams, but you people have made it stink like a sewer. And you’re still proud of yourselves?”

”Disgusting! Shameful!”

Zhang Zhe didn’t want to waste any more time arguing with this... subhuman creature.

He was only saying all this in the group chat to establish a just cause for his actions.

He wanted all his colleagues at the agency to know why he was so angry.

This was a little piece of workplace wisdom Zhang Zhe had figured out:

If you’re in the right, you have to make your voice heard. Otherwise, once the dust settles, the guilty party can easily whitewash their reputation.

After stating his position, it was time for the main event:

”@He Juan, President He, are you just going to let people like this run wild?”

”Our agency’s account is being mass-reported. Are you going to wait until we’re featured on a crime show before you do something about it?”

Zhang Zhe directly posted screenshots of the livestream’s bullet comments.

Thanks to him, most of the viewers had a basic sense of justice, and many were calling for the stream to be reported.

”@He Juan, give me a straight answer. Are you going to handle this or not?”

”I’m on my way to the office right now. If you tell me to stand down, I’ll have the driver turn around immediately.”

Boss He did not reply.

The other senior members in the group chat couldn’t stay silent any longer, but when they spoke, it was in the tone of peacemakers:

”Alright, alright, let’s drop it. We’re all colleagues here. There’s no need to make things so tense.”

”What Jiang Qi did really does look bad. Sister Zhou, you should have a word with her and tell her to stop streaming for now.”

”You really have to pay attention to values when streaming. Be careful not to get reported.”

”Boss He isn’t around. Xiaozhang, you should just head back for now.”

Seeing the discussion in the group chat had reached this point and Boss He still hadn’t shown up, Zhang Zhe felt that she probably didn’t want to deal with the matter.

Sister Zhou and Jiang Qi’s faction probably had a lot of influence.

Perhaps they even had more people on their side in the group chat.

Sure enough, after someone told Zhang Zhe to go back, the tone of the group chat slowly began to shift.

”Xiaozhang, don’t go to the office for now.”

”Right, right. If there’s a client there, making a scene would be bad for business.”

”I’m in a meeting in Conference Room B3 right now. There are leaders present. We need to think about the bigger picture.”

”Exactly, let’s just let this go. It’s enough for Sister Zhou to have a good talk with Jiang Qi.”

”Since streaming is so risky, why not just stop for now? This is a crucial time for our agency.”

”Actually, when Xiaozhang usually streams, plenty of people report him too...”

As they kept talking, the topic gradually shifted onto Zhang Zhe, taking on the posture of ’if you can’t solve the problem, just get rid of the person who pointed it out’.

Zhang Zhe silently read the messages these people were sending.

He said nothing, just quietly watched them put on their show.

By the time his taxi arrived at the agency’s entrance, the group had reached a conclusion. They had voted, and 65% had agreed to Sister Zhou’s proposal:

The livestream would be temporarily suspended.

At the beginning of next month, during the all-staff meeting, they would revisit the issues of ”who should stream” and ”how they should stream.”

Zhang Zhe had initially objected, but after reading the entire discussion, he understood.

’So I’m the rare normal person here,’ he thought. Most of the matchmakers in the group were still stuck in the phase of helping clients achieve their goals by any means necessary.

In that case, he had no objections.

He stated his stance in the group chat as well:

”I agree to shutting down the stream for now.”

”Don’t worry, I have plenty of work to do. I still have a lot of old stream footage that I haven’t edited. This is a good chance for me to hunker down and get to it.”

The livestream could be shut down.

Zhang Zhe could find his own work, so he would continue to manage the account.

Then, when people commented on the clips asking, ”Where is the streamer live now?”

...Zhang Zhe would be happy to point them in the right direction.

Back at the marriage agency, Jiang Qi was waiting right at the entrance.

When she saw Zhang Zhe, the venom in her eyes was completely unconcealed.

Zhang Zhe gave her a mocking smile. ”Read the group messages, did you? No more streaming for you~”

”I hear you like to start secret streams?”

”Heh.” Jiang Qi sneered. ”Zhang Zhe, you won’t be here for long. You’ll be gone by next month, believe it or not.”

”Oh, I believe you,” Zhang Zhe said with a sly grin. ”But do you believe that after I’m gone, your stream will absolutely fail?”

”Impossible. We just didn’t realize the importance of streaming before.”

”We have decades of experience in this industry. You think we can’t do a better job streaming than you?”

”Oh, you can totally do a better job than me. Besides teaching girls to get pregnant to secure a proposal, what else do you know?” Zhang Zhe scoffed.

Since he was here, he might as well pack up his personal belongings. Jiang Qi was right; he really wouldn’t be here for long.

Even if today’s incident hadn’t happened, he was planning to leave voluntarily once his own marriage agency was up and running. What kind of boss works for a competitor’s company?

In fact, this little drama Jiang Qi had started today had conveniently given him the perfect opportunity to redirect the stream’s traffic.
