Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Age is the smallest problem

”So, you’re unemployed too, huh?” Zhang Zhe, who was also born in ’95 and recently became jobless, felt a sense of camaraderie, like he’d finally met one of his own.

’Thirty is just the right age to be an unemployed bum. How fitting.’

”Are you unemployed too, sir?”

”No, I’m a Matchmaker. How could I possibly be unemployed? But I do have a friend... he lost his job. Got laid off, actually.”

”Oh, I quit on my own.”

”I used to be a designer at an ad agency. I was making a little over 100,000 a year, but it was just too exhausting, so I resigned.”

”Quit your job to focus on finding a husband?” Zhang Zhe asked with a slight smile, because that was exactly what he was doing.

”Not exactly, but I do want to get this whole thing sorted out.”

”Alright, let’s continue. What’s your family situation?”

”My parents work for a state-owned enterprise in a third-tier city. My family owns two apartments, and my older sister and I agreed we’d each get one.”

”Is your sister married?”

”She is. Now all the pressure is on me.”

”On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your looks?”

”Probably around a four. I look a little better with makeup on.”

[I saw her profile. She’s a pretty lady!]

[With makeup, she’s a 4.5. Gives off major ’cool older woman’ vibes.]

[Just from the way she talks, you can tell she’s got a nasty temper.]

[Host, I think you should ask about her relationship history. For an old maid like her, that’s a very important detail.]

”Do you think your sister married well?” Zhang Zhe suddenly asked a question that sounded a bit strange.

”Yeah, she did. My brother-in-law is a decent guy.”

”So if a guy with similar qualities to your brother-in-law pursued you, would you say yes?”

”Haha, definitely not. He’s not my type.”

”Right, I get it.” Zhang Zhe gleaned two key pieces of information from her answer: she knew her own situation was just average, but she was still determined to find someone she genuinely liked.

’It’s like she wants to be picky and whimsical, even though she can’t afford to be.’

”What kind of person are you looking for? Just someone you like, purely based on feeling?”

”Yes, I think marriage is all about fate,” the woman said with a chuckle. ”My last boyfriend was a coworker of mine. His looks and abilities were decent, and he made over 10,000 a month, but there was one huge problem—he was forty-two.”

”You dated a guy a whole zodiac cycle older than you?” Zhang Zhe looked stunned. ’Talk about wanting to take a shortcut in life.’

”Was he super rich?”

”Not super rich, no. He was just one of those straight-laced guys with very little relationship experience. He treated me incredibly well, better than any of my past boyfriends. He’d drive me everywhere, and he bought and ate all three meals with me every single day.”

[Poor guy. Played by another bad woman.]

[Why do I get the feeling her ex-boyfriend sounds like Sun Huowang?]

[All you older single guys out there, take a good look! This is the kind of female coworker you’re simping for at the office!]

[Damn it. A ’friend’ of mine is suddenly feeling unwell.]

Perhaps influenced by the stream comments, Zhang Zhe was reminded of a colleague of his. The guy used to buy a girl breakfast every day, leave work with her every evening, and even go shopping with her on weekends.

In the end, she broke up with him out of the blue.

”So you dated him just because he was nice to you? Or did he give you money? Was it primarily for the emotional value or the financial value?”

”It was both. I spent most of his salary,” the woman admitted bluntly. ”He basically did whatever I told him to, but he was just too old.”

”He’s never been married and wants kids. Think about it, if we got married, by the time our child was a teenager, he’d be sixty. Wouldn’t the whole family be relying on me alone then?”

”Hmm, you’ve certainly thought it all through.”

”Are you the kind of person with a bad temper and a very strong need for control?”

”Yes, sir. You guessed right.”

”Haha.” Zhang Zhe just laughed. ’Was there any need to guess? This woman was willing to accept a guy a whole zodiac cycle older than her just to find a man who would do her bidding.’

’Normally, a woman only relaxes her standards to date someone a cycle older if she’s trying to climb the social ladder, or if she’s aiming for a huge payout, like a bride price in the hundreds of thousands.’

’But this woman? She was just looking for an obedient simp.’

’You could just imagine how terrible her temper must be.’

”How long were you and your ex together?”

”We lived together for about a month.”

”And how long did you know each other before that?”

”A little over a month.”

”?” Zhang Zhe blinked. His brain almost crashed. Thankfully, he’d seen a lot more of the world than before. ”You’re that... open?”

”I’m at that age, you know? I feel like there’s no need to be coy about it.”

[Knew each other for a little over a month and already living together?]

[That 42-year-old guy actually scored? Oh no, my ’friend’ is feeling even worse now.]

[Interesting. Sis, you’re really not picky at all, are you?]

[This girl is using her body to its absolute fullest potential.]

[No wonder that old guy was so devoted to her. He was completely out of his league; he never stood a chance against you.]

”What’s the average length of your past relationships?” Zhang Zhe asked a very pointed question.

”The longest was probably four months.”

”Wow.”

”It’s mainly because I have a bad temper. We fight easily, and then we break up.”

”Impressive.”

”Given your situation, if you’re serious about getting married, I’d recommend you go to a matchmaking agency,” Zhang Zhe said after a moment’s thought, offering some very sincere advice. ”If you just look for guys in your daily life, most of them won’t turn you down, at least not at first.”

”And with your current judgment, it’d be very difficult for you to tell the difference.”

’It couldn’t be helped. Few men could refuse something offered up for free.’

’In this era of widespread male sexual repression, all you had to do was buy a girl some breakfast and give her a ride to and from work, and you could get... for free.’

The 42-year-old guy probably had his own side of the story:

’I’ve been single for over twenty years. I spent all that time chasing women who demanded hundreds of thousands in bride price. I chased away my savings, I chased until my health collapsed. Now that a woman is finally willing to accept me, you all insist on calling me a simp.’

’Simp or not, don’t you think I’d know it myself?’

For a woman like her, going to a matchmaking agency was the best option. At least there, she could find someone on her own level, instead of ending up with an ordinary guy a whole zodiac cycle older.

”I’ve been to a matchmaking agency.”

The woman’s life experience was proving to be quite extensive. She immediately began to share:

”At first, they introduced me to a 40-year-old music store owner. Single, not bad looking, but he only made six or seven thousand a month. I thought that was too low, and he was old, so I turned him down.”

”Then they introduced me to a guy who works in real estate sales in Shenghai. He makes 500,000 a year and is also 30, but his family is from the countryside, and he’s not well-educated.”

”That guy was a total weirdo, seriously. I have to vent to you about this, sir. During our date, the first thing he did was ask if I was an only child. Then, after hearing I’d been in a few relationships, he actually told me to go get a check-up at the hospital.”

”I thought he was really strange right then and there.”

”Then, after the date, the Matchmaker told me that the guy said if we were to continue, I would have to go to the hospital for an exam to see if I’d ever had an abortion. The moment I heard that, I felt completely insulted!”

[Hahaha, that dude from Shenghai gets it.]

[You should’ve just told him you’ve had a few ’little angels’ visit, that’s all.]

[Sis, I support you! Don’t listen to the haters in the comments, they’re all just a bunch of gross, misogynistic dudes.]

[A guy in real estate sales? What kind of woman hasn’t he seen? He took one look at you and knew exactly what was up.]
