Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 124: Chapter 124: I Hate Handsome Guys

”We were introduced by a mutual friend.”

”What does this mutual friend of yours do? Are they a bartender at a club?”

”Yeah,” the woman admitted, somewhat reluctantly.

Zhang Zhe nodded along. ’Now *that* fits my worldview.’

If they had met in a library, it would’ve been the guy getting caught scratching himself by the girl.

Meeting in a club was the only thing that made sense.

”So what’s this guy’s strong suit?”

”Since you two are boyfriend and girlfriend, he must have something that attracts you. I’m guessing it’s not just his looks, right?”

”A woman with a master’s degree from a rural family, with no support from home and currently unemployed... you don’t seem like the type to get into a relationship without a purpose.”

Zhang Zhe could hear the sheer rationality in the woman’s voice. It didn’t sound like an act.

This woman was definitely no fool. She wasn’t some naive girl who could be sweet-talked by any pretty boy.

”His family background is a little better than mine.”

”Better in what way?”

”He has three properties in his name, his mom has three properties in her name, and his dad has another four.”

”?” Zhang Zhe scratched his head. ”And you call that ’a little better’?”

”Even if you count the cowshed your family built back in the village, you probably still wouldn’t have as many properties as his family owns in Yanjing, right?”

[Hahahaha, Brother Zhang, your expression is hilarious!]

[A landlord with a minimum of 6 properties sounds like a beggar coming from her.]

[They’re about to start taxing landlords, so they won’t be making as much as before.]

[If that guy sold his properties and put the money in a bank, the interest alone would be more than your salary.]

[Sis, that guy’s no good. Let me take on this hardship for you.]

Called out by Zhang Zhe like that, the woman got a little embarrassed and admitted, ”His family is indeed quite wealthy.”

”But he’s just reaping the benefits without working for it.”

”He himself has no real ambition. Right now, he’s working in e-commerce with his cousin, making just ten thousand a month. Even that job isn’t stable; he could be unemployed at any moment.”

”True. If you got into a major corporation, you’d probably start at thirty thousand a month,” Zhang Zhe said, pouting his lips with a look of total agreement.

”Something like that.” Not only did the woman agree, but she continued her rant. ”And another really bad thing about him is that he loves to play video games after work.”

”He actually has a lot of free time, but every day after work, and on weekends too, he’s just playing games. It used to be PUBG, now it’s Delta Force.”

”I can’t even drag him to the library.”

”Right, playing video games is terrible.” Zhang Zhe went along with her. ”He should be out clubbing, going on all-night fishing trips, buying a ten-thousand-dollar camera to book private photoshoots with models, or traveling the world.”

”Instead, he’s cooped up at home playing games, and a Frankenstein’s monster like Delta Force, at that.”

”He’s just the worst.”

[You’re so right, bro]

[Ask her boyfriend if he’s willing to find a boyfriend to play games with. Don’t be so rigid about gender. I have a great ass.]

[Sis, a guy who plays games is actually pretty great, as long as he’s not playing with other girls.]

[A master’s graduate looking down on a vocational school grad who just plays games. What’s wrong with that?]

[To be honest, if this sister gets her PhD, she could contribute to the development of all humankind. A stinky gamer shouldn’t even try to get close.]

[Sis, I support you! Break up with him and go get your PhD. Don’t let a man like that hold you back!]

Zhang Zhe deliberately clicked on the profile pictures of a few accounts telling the woman to break up.

Well, what do you know. They were all cyber-women.

’They’re definitely guys posing as girls, because they’re all following soft-core models.’

’These are true brothers, looking out for another man. They can’t bear to see the girlfriend’s boyfriend suffer.’

Zhang Zhe was actually thinking the same thing, but he had been a little too obvious about it.

”Sir, you’re being sarcastic, aren’t you?” the woman asked, confused. ”I’m genuinely here for your advice. You can’t just throw shade at me.”

”Not at all. I was just agreeing with you.”

”Look, you came in here and immediately started ripping into this guy—his vocational degree, his blended family... Anyone who didn’t know better would think you’d been scammed by some street punk.”

”But the reality is, you’re after his money.”

”So why keep up the act?”

”I’m not acting! I genuinely think he’s just letting himself go,” the woman said with forceful conviction. ”His financial situation is so good; he has better options. Wouldn’t it be better to use the time he spends gaming to improve himself?”

”The moment you open your mouth, you sound like a classic PUA.”

”You’re really forcing me to be blunt, huh? Sigh.” Zhang Zhe heaved a helpless sigh. ”I’m a matchmaking streamer. I only see things from a matchmaking perspective.”

”Let me just tell you straight. That guy has a minimum of six properties in Yanjing—and we’re not even counting his dad’s portfolio. Plus, he earns over ten thousand a month. He’s not some useless leech just living off his family’s wealth.”

”In the dating market, you and he are not even in the same league.”

”Get it?”

”The right person for him is a girl from Yanjing who also owns property, an only daughter with no grand ambitions, someone who will just eat, drink, and have fun with him.”

”I believe his parents think the same way. Otherwise, after spending all that money to ’chicken-parent’ him, there’s no way he would’ve ended up in just a vocational program.”

”And you? You act like you’re so brilliant and you have to pull your boyfriend up to your level, but in reality, your eyes are glued to his properties and income.”

”You haven’t even married into the family, yet you’ve already figured out how many properties his father—who doesn’t even live with him—owns. Were you trying to calculate the maximum number of properties he could inherit?”

[Stop analyzing, I’ll tell you. It’s at least 7 properties!]

[You could work yourself to death at a major corporation and maybe afford one property. Where do you get off calling yourself superior? And now you’re criticizing us gamers?]

[Sis, you really don’t get it. This guy is actually a great catch.]

[What’s wrong with everyone’s values these days? The girl’s academic qualifications are excellent.]

The woman on the call, seemingly hit a nerve by Zhang Zhe’s words, disconnected without so much as a ”thank you.”

Zhang Zhe, now with his hands free, quickly moved to pick on the soft targets in the stream chat:

”This user, Xi Ao Xiao. Sis, are you being naive or just playing dumb? It’s true she has excellent academic qualifications, but she’s not the only person in the world with them.”

”With his background, the guy could find a female PhD with a similar family background and the same major, no problem.”

”Besides, her problem is that she deliberately ignores the guy’s strengths. She just harps on the video game thing, criticizing his lack of ambition to give herself a sense of psychological superiority.”

”My former boss had a saying for people like her.”

”My boss was a terrible leader, but sometimes the things he said were brutally realistic. He once said this to a new hire with a PhD, and I’m quoting him verbatim:

’You’re so damn brilliant, so how about you focus that brilliance on yourself for a change? Why don’t you reach my level first before you try to tell me what to do?’”

Zhang Zhe was there when it happened. He remembered it clearly. The PhD’s face instantly turned bright red. He submitted his resignation that very same day. Later, he went to a competitor’s company to be a cog in a different machine.

That woman from just now was the same.

If she’s so ambitious, then she should go get a million-a-year salary at a major corporation, become completely financially independent, and *then* come back and expect her boyfriend to listen to her.

At that point, her boyfriend would probably be the one reaching above his station to be with her.

...

After connecting with many older women, a little after 10 PM, an older man finally joined the stream.

”Hello, Brother Zhang. I came here after seeing your videos of you roasting people.”

”I feel like you must be a very objective Matchmaker.”

”That’s right, you’ve come to the right place.” Zhang Zhe gave himself a thumbs-up. ”I am super objective.”

”Go ahead and give me your information.”

”Okay, I was born in ’90, so I’m 35. I’m 184 cm tall, weigh 75 kg, and my looks are about a 5.5 out of 10.”

”Hold on a second. Do you know what a 5.5 really means for a guy’s looks?” Zhang Zhe said, pointing to the man’s stats. ”With that height and weight, if you’re not lying about your face, you’d be the exact type of handsome bastard I hated most back in school.”

”The jock who dates the class beauty!”
