Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 139: Chapter 139: Minor Surgery Isn’t Real Surgery

”That’s easy. It depends on what kind of person you’re looking for.”

Zhang Zhe remembered clearly that Yangcheng locals generally had very low expectations for the betrothal gift, usually just a few tens of thousands of yuan. Perhaps for this reason, they didn’t insist on finding a local girl either.

The men of Yangcheng had long since broadened their horizons.

This was well-documented in the show *Foreign Wives, Local Husbands*.

”I’m looking for someone with a gentler personality. My mom is very gentle, and I can’t really bring myself to like girls who are especially domineering.”

”That’s no problem, but can you accept one or two drawbacks in her family background? For example, if she comes from a family with many children, her family is relatively poor, or she was a ’left-behind child’ growing up.”

”Because a gentle personality is sometimes shaped by external circumstances.”

”I can. None of that is a problem.” The young man was quite clear-headed about it. ”I think as long as she’s a good person and the type to settle down and build a life with, I don’t mind if her family situation is a little worse than mine.”

”Do you have any requirements for her looks? What score would be unacceptably low for you?”

”Around a 4.5, I guess.”

”Teacher, I won’t lie to you, I really do want to find someone pretty. I know this demand is a bit... you know... but if she’s not good-looking, I’m afraid my feelings will change over time.”

”Don’t worry, that’s a normal requirement.”

”Don’t be nervous. Have you been criticized for having standards for a girl’s looks? You seem a little insecure.”

”My dad gave me an earful about it,” the young man said, a bit embarrassed. ”He said that someone like me who only cares about looks when finding a partner deserves to still be single at 26.”

”He’s the one who’s being unreasonable.”

Zhang Zhe could understand the father’s point of view. If the young man could just flip the switch on his standards for looks, getting married would be as easy as drinking water for someone from his family background.

But forcing a 26-year-old guy who’s never been in a relationship to completely give up on looks was a bit too cruel.

A woman’s beauty itself has great altruistic value. Being pretty provides constant emotional value to her male partner. And when you’re looking for a partner, you’re essentially looking for someone with strong altruistic qualities.

”Little bro, here’s what you do. If you get the chance, have your dad introduce you to more girls from similar family backgrounds who have just graduated or are in their senior year doing internships.”

”Or, when you have time, go play basketball with some friends at a nearby university.”

”And be careful not to drive a luxury car, or you’ll only attract gold diggers.”

”Why?” the young man asked blankly. ”Why someone who just graduated?”

”The reason is simple. When you were in school, do you think those gentle and good-looking girls didn’t have guys chasing after them?”

”And once they were in a relationship, how many guys would let them go easily?”

”Otherwise, you wouldn’t still be single, right?”

”...” The young man swallowed hard and said dejectedly, ”Yeah, I’ve met several, but they all had boyfriends, and they were in very stable relationships.”

[LOL, he almost silenced the poor guy.]

[It’s because there are so few good-natured girls these days. Too many only children.]

[Any girl who’s even a little bit gentle will have tons of men chasing her the second she leaves school.]

[Adults understand just how precious a quality it is for your partner to be emotionally stable.]

”Little bro, you have to remember: girls who are gentle and also decent-looking are practically off the market. They’re not in circulation unless they had no intention of dating during their school years, or they were extremely sheltered by their families.”

”These kinds of girls have very strong altruistic qualities, giving them a huge advantage in the dating and marriage market.”

”I’ve said on my stream before that a woman’s high income generally doesn’t have altruistic value, because most men don’t plan on spending their girlfriend’s or wife’s money.”

”But a good personality has absolute altruistic value—very, very strong altruistic value. No one can refuse coming home from work to a partner who will chat with them and help share their psychological stress...”

Zhang Zhe didn’t continue the description, because if he went on, the bullet comments would start saying he was describing a scene from a science fiction novel.

But this, in a way, also proved his point about them being ”off the market.”

If you go on 100 blind dates and meet three genuinely gentle girls, you’ve gotten incredibly lucky. It means your ancestors are looking out for you from the great beyond, trying to help you find someone.

”Teacher, if I meet a girl like that, should I spend money on her?” the young man asked hesitantly. ”My dad gave me a ’dating fund’ to use for taking girls out to dinner and stuff.”

”My advice is four words: go with the flow.”

”Treat spending money as one way of expressing your feelings, but it can’t be your only way,” Zhang Zhe explained.

”Oh, I get it now.”

”That reminds me, the girl I’m currently on blind dates with has a post on her Moments with the caption: ’The best way for a guy to love a girl is to spend money on her.’”

”And was there also a bouquet made of folded RMB bills?” Zhang Zhe asked with a smile.

”Yes, yes, exactly!”

”Girls like that are all pretty much the same. Once you’ve met more of them, you’ll naturally get it.” Zhang Zhe’s advice for this young man was, first and foremost, to get more experience.

It’s actually the same for both men and women. The first thing to do after leaving campus is to get some life experience, otherwise it’s hard to know your own position in the dating and marriage market.

[Hey streamer, I just got out of the tutorial zone myself. Where can I meet one of these succubi?]

”Do you really want to find a succubus? I can’t even be bothered to expose you. Don’t you just want to play some ’Ludo’?”

[Thanks, streamer, for speaking up for us sisters.]

[Some guys are just ridiculous. We’re only forward with rich men. If you’re not capable, go make some money first.]

[If you really want to experience it, I’ll leave this little bro with a saying: ”Love arrives with the chime of the clock, but when the clock stops, the feeling is hard to drop.”]

...

After that newbie guy, Zhang Zhe connected with two more men before finally getting the first single woman to call in for a consultation.

”Sister, you’re finally here.”

”If you hadn’t shown up, I was about to end the stream.”

”Really? I just got home and saw you were still live, Teacher, so I hurried on.” The woman’s voice was very pleasant, and she didn’t seem aggressive at all.

In the words of the bullet comments, she ”sounds like a young lady from a rich family.”

And her stats were, in fact, just that.

”I’m 25, 164 cm tall, and weigh 47.5 kg. I have a bachelor’s from a Double First Class university and a master’s from a top-ten 985 university. I’m currently a full-time employee at a state-owned enterprise, with an annual income of about 300,000 yuan.”

”As for my looks, I’d rate myself a 6 out of 10.”

”I’m an only daughter. My parents also work at state-owned enterprises, and they both have ’bianzhi,’ and at a high level, too.”

”My family’s assets are around 20 million yuan.”

When he heard the woman say her parents were ’bianzhi’ employees at a state-owned enterprise, Zhang Zhe paused for a moment. As far as he knew, all SOE employees hired after 1995 were on contracts.

Only high-level leaders directly appointed from above still had ’bianzhi’.

But that wasn’t too important. The main point was that the woman rated herself a 6.

’Who does she think she is, some campus belle?’

”Sister, there are no selfies on your profile. Can you send me a photo so I can take a look?”

”I’m not doubting you, I just want to verify it for the audience.”

”Everyone’s pretty curious about what a 6-out-of-10 beauty looks like.”

”Sure, Teacher. One moment, I’ll send you a private message.” The woman was very open and confident.

A moment later, Zhang Zhe received her private message.

After a careful analysis, he gave his own rating:

”Sister, I can only give your looks a 4.4. Because the plastic surgeon you found contributed 1.6 of that.”

”I just had some minor tweaks,” the woman said, remaining quite nonchalant. ”Minor procedures don’t count as real plastic surgery. Besides, I can afford the follow-up maintenance costs myself.”

This was the first time Zhang Zhe had heard a woman who’d had work done say she would cover all future maintenance herself. ’Interesting.’

If she was willing to spend the money, with current technology, she could indeed ensure her face wouldn’t have any major issues before she turned 50. Just look at some celebrities who spend millions a year on their faces.

”Miss, with that attitude, plus the looks you’ve achieved and such an excellent background, in my opinion, you should be in the absolute top tier of the local dating and marriage market.”

”Don’t tell me you’re trying to marry into a super-rich family?”
