Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 137: Chapter 137: Is the Girl’s Hand Soft?

”My dad thinks business owners are unreliable.”

”That’s a confusing thing to say.” Zhang Zhe frowned. He figured the boyfriend would be just as baffled. ”It’s one thing to say a business owner’s income is unstable, but what do you mean by ’unreliable’?”

”And working a regular job is automatically reliable?”

”That’s what my parents said. I figure they’ve been in business for so many years, so there must be some truth to it.” The woman’s reply made it clear she’d stopped thinking for herself.

[Her parents probably think their daughter is too naive and are afraid the guy will scheme against her.]

[The guy makes 2 million a year. Why would he waste time scheming against her when he could be out making more money?]

[They probably look down on their own kind. That’s normal. It’s like a butcher not wanting his kid to marry into another butcher’s family.]

[Isn’t reliability about the person, not their profession?]

[Could be from her dad’s own personal experience.]

Zhang Zhe felt some of the theories in the comments made sense.

If the woman’s own father was unreliable, it would make sense for him to project that stereotype onto others.

It’s like a construction project manager marrying off his daughter—he’d usually prefer she didn’t find a son-in-law who’s also a project manager.

Otherwise, what would happen if the father-in-law and son-in-law ran into each other while out for a ’massage’?

Worse, what if they turned out to be birds of a feather?

”So, what are your thoughts?”

”I’m hesitating.” The woman’s voice was tinged with confusion. ”I feel like my boyfriend is really good to me, but he doesn’t seem to cherish me enough. He isn’t controlling or possessive enough.”

”See? He knows I’m calling into a livestream, and he’s not even mad.”

”I just told him about it, and he actually asked me what the Matchmaker had to say. He wanted to know if it proved he was right...”

”He’s certainly confident, then.” Zhang Zhe nodded. ”But he’s pretty much the best you’re going to do on the marriage market.”

”Even if you were an only child, his credentials would be more than enough for you.”

”And by a long shot.”

”Young lady, this guy is a real catch.”

’It’s not easy to make money these days. A salaried employee with a stable income of 300,000 a year is already top-tier. But to save 200,000 of that after expenses? That’s a true master.’

’This guy’s earning potential is ten times that of a high-level employee.’

’As long as his business stays afloat, he’s definitely dating down by being with this girl.’

”I know he’s pretty good.”

”But my parents still want me to find someone with a government job.”

”Someone with a stable government job going for a bank teller like you? He’d only be in it for your family’s money.” Zhang Zhe pointed out the core issue.

’Putting aside her family’s wealth, her own merits place her in the lowest tier of the marriage market.’

’Her only hope is that her parents give her a lot of money and that her older sister looks out for her in the future. Otherwise, on her meager salary, she can barely support herself.’

”Even if he is after my money, as long as he treats me well, it doesn’t matter, does it?”

”Oh, it doesn’t matter at all? So if your family goes bankrupt and he kicks you to the curb in a heartbeat, that won’t matter either?”

”Then... never mind.” The girl mumbled, her voice tinged with disappointment.

’She’s probably still fantasizing about finding a guy with a government job who’d dote on her just as much as her boyfriend who earns two million a year.’

”Teacher, do you think I should listen to my parents or defy them?”

”Normally, I wouldn’t even bother with you.” Zhang Zhe wanted to roll his eyes. ’Haven’t I made it obvious enough? This guy is the best she’s ever going to get.’ ”But I feel your situation is pretty common.”

”So, I’ll break it down for you.”

”To all the young men and women in the stream, when you’re deciding whether to listen to your parents, you only need to consider one thing: can your parents cover for your mistakes?”

”If your parents interfere with your decision, and they can guarantee that if you break up with this guy, they’ll find you someone even better, then by all means, listen to them.”

”But do they have the ability to do that?”

”I think... they do.” The woman hesitated. ”There are quite a few guys like him where I live. A lot of people in my home province, Hu Jian, are in business, so my family knows a lot of wealthy people.”

[Just because you know rich people doesn’t mean they’ll marry you.]

[In a marriage alliance, they’d definitely choose your sister over you.]

[Then just break up with him. What’s the hold up?]

[Is old money the same as a self-made millionaire? I don’t believe for a second there are that many guys who’ve built a ten-million-plus fortune from scratch.]

[I know where this girl gets her confidence now. Her parents gave it to her.]

”Then do whatever you want.” Zhang Zhe shrugged. ”If your assessment is correct, then any choice you make is the right one.”

”You can be as capricious as you like.”

”Okay, thank you, Teacher.” The woman had clearly been fishing for this answer.

As soon as she heard Zhang Zhe’s words, her indecisiveness vanished, and she offered no rebuttal.

”If you’re sure you’re going to break up with him, introduce him to me. A lot of the women in my stream would love to meet him.”

”Okay, sure.” The girl seemed to take him seriously. ”I’ll think about it.”

”If we break up, I’ll give you his contact information. We’ll see if he can find someone better.”

[Whoa, she’s really breaking up with him just like that?]

[This girl came on here with the answer already in mind.]

[Brother Zhang, there goes another merit point!]

[Gotta be honest, I’d love to meet this guy. Too bad I’m not as well-off as she is.]

”This has nothing to do with me. It’s obviously her parents’ fault.”

”I’m not taking the fall for this.” Zhang Zhe shook his head. ”I already did my best to explain to her just how great that guy is.”

”To be honest, I really don’t get what her parents are thinking. Maybe rich people just see things differently than we do...”

’Logically, since this girl has an older sister, her family has a built-in safety net. She’s not an only daughter, so there’s no risk of her husband’s family trying to swallow her family’s entire fortune.’

’To put it bluntly, she has the freedom to marry whoever she wants.’

’If things go south, she can always go back home.’

’These parents and the parents of that last caller—the only daughter from the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region—feel like they’ve been mismatched. If they swapped places, maybe there wouldn’t be so many relationship dramas.’

...

”Can I get a girl on here who actually wants me to set her up?”

”I really need to protect my merit points.”

Zhang Zhe checked his system points. He was at 199.

He was just one point away from unlocking a new item.

But everyone today was calling to ask if they should break up, which he found rather troublesome.

’They come on and say they have a boyfriend. I can’t just play the homewrecker, can I?’

”Seriously, I need someone single.”

”I’m begging here.”

”I’m here, I’m here! Teacher, I’m on!”

Zhang Zhe’s face fell when he heard a man’s voice come through the microphone.

[Hey, streamer, don’t be so strict about gender!]

[Hahaha, perfect timing!]

[Too much female energy in this stream. Time to balance it out with some masculine vibes.]

”Bro, you don’t have a girlfriend, do you?” Zhang Zhe asked.

”Nope, never. I’ve never had a girlfriend in my entire life.”

”How old are you?”

”I’m 26.”

”Then do you know how soft a girl’s hand is?” Zhang Zhe chuckled slyly.

”I know that. I also know a girl’s lips are soft.”

”?”

”Didn’t you say you’ve never been in a relationship?”

”That’s right, but I’ve been on some blind dates recently,” the guy said, a little smugly. ”The girl I’m seeing kissed me.”
