The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1396: Chapter 543: Controversy (2)

In the meeting room, there were four people seated, including Mu Li.

Apart from Mu Li, the other three people were shareholders of Heavenly Palace Group. Each of them held shares, but if combined, they had enough to rival Mu Li.

Another reason Mu Li had to respect them was that, although they seemed to hold personal shares, they were backed by many invisible supporters.

Some of these supporters were long-term clients of Heavenly Palace Group, while others were infiltrations by various capital conglomerates.

Overall, their components and relationships were so complicated that even Mu Li might not fully understand them. But one thing was certain: these three people held significant influence among the small shareholders with scattered equity.

In other words, if Mu Li wanted to implement her idea of closely cooperating with Zhou Wang, she needed to win these three people over.

This was why Mu Li took advantage of tonight’s yacht party to invite all three.

She was confident that the newly drafted agreement could persuade Zhou Wang, but the premise was that these three attendees would agree.

Regarding the ”transformation” of Heavenly Palace Group, out of the three, apart from the recently speaking middle-aged man, which is Heavenly Palace Group’s second-largest shareholder Wang Chengyun, the other two shareholders, Xiong Min and Ma Jun, were actually in favor.

In some prior groundwork by Mu Li, they had discussed this issue whenever they met.

After all, they’ve made enough money long ago. Nowadays, Heavenly Palace Group could sustain smooth operations just by relying on those industries on the surface, even if the profits were slightly weaker than before.

If given a choice, who would willingly continue doing those nerve-wracking dealings?

Among the four major shareholders, only Wang Chengyun sneered at the issue of ”transformation.”

On one hand, this was because Wang Chengyun mainly managed business in Hong Kong Island and Ao Island, and due to the unique nature of these regions, some things were unavoidable; he had long been accustomed to them.

Moreover, most of his profits came from Heavenly Palace Group’s gray industries. If these businesses were cut off, he’d have nothing left.

Although Mu Li spoke nicely, promising more funds to support legitimate businesses in these two cities, and wouldn’t entirely abandon past businesses, with retained parts still held and his equity in the group unshrunken, but...

Wang Chengyun didn’t believe a word of her nonsense.

He had joined Heavenly Palace Group long ago, witnessing Mu Li gradually taking over her aunt’s business, mastering the entire group from scratch.

He knew that this woman, whose words always seemed gentle and warm, had non-peaceful methods behind the scenes, and due to accumulated tension between them, if she resolved the entire group’s reform, he might end up being marginalized completely.

In previous discussions, Wang Chengyun hadn’t made much of a statement because he thought Mu Li was purely fantasizing.

Everyone knew what founded Heavenly Palace Group, saying it could be whitewashed—if that were possible, wouldn’t it have already been done?

And Mu Li seemed to know that herself, so previous propositions weren’t firm.

But Wang Chengyun never expected Mu Li to suddenly produce a formal agreement, confidently claiming that if they agreed to sign it, Heavenly Palace Group could embark on its pre-defined development path.

Why?

”Mr. Wang, you know me. I never joke at times like these.”

Facing Wang Chengyun’s skepticism, Mu Li just smiled lightly, ”Daring to show you people this agreement sample means I already have some assurance.”

”President Mu, wait a moment. Let me digest this...”

Before Wang Chengyun could speak coldly, another woman, ranked third among shareholders, couldn’t help but raise her hand and voice her skepticism.

”You mean, as long as we reach a so-called deep cooperation with Zhou Wang, Mr. Zhou, as stated in your agreement, giving him 18% of the group shares for free, along with a yacht worth 560 million and a large flat luxury home in Shenzhen Bay No. 1 worth 150 million...”

At this point, Xiong Min felt a hint of absurdity, but she quickly steadied her mind and continued:

”He can lead Heavenly Palace Group into virtuous development, with even a potential listing in the future?”

”Yes.”

Mu Li nodded, indicating Xiong Min’s understanding was correct.

”But, this Mr. Zhou... how is President Mu sure he has such capabilities? If I didn’t see wrong, the material shows he’s just in his early twenties?”

”All other information about him is in the attachment’s brief data. Sister Min can look again.”

”I’ve already read it three times, and that’s precisely why I don’t understand.”

Xiong Min smiled wryly, ”Yes, based on what’s shown in the material, he’s indeed remarkable for his age, having built so many businesses at such a young age...but I didn’t find what I wanted to see.”

”Does he have any elders serving in Beidou?”

At this moment, the fourth shareholder, usually silent Ma Jun, spoke up and asked.

His question was subtle, but the other two understood his meaning.

Mu Li had some deep connections in Beidou, which, despite not being enough to sustain Heavenly Palace Group’s unwavering standing, could help during critical moments. So following Ma Jun’s question, they unconsciously conjured associations.

Could Zhou Wang be a descendant of some upper echelon family?

If so, it all seemed to make sense.

No wonder Mu Li was so confident in him.

Yet, after a brief silence, Mu Li shook her head, ”No... as far as I know, he’s just a native of Yunan Province, achieving today purely on his own merit.”

The three, upon hearing this, looked at each other in bafflement.

Of course, Mu Li knew her words lacked any persuasion, but without Zhou Wang’s consent, she couldn’t reveal the other’s secrets about Cloud Group, so she felt troubled and had to resort to some roundabout methods to try and convince them.

”Are you familiar with the recently popular ’Little Blue Bottle’ in certain circles? That’s also his business...”

”I’ve truly heard of that.”

Xiong Min’s eyes brightened immediately, ”So President Mu means that what we’re exchanging is actually the stock of ’Little Blue Bottl’ pharmacy. If the rumors about its longevity effect are true, then such cooperation isn’t out of the question...”

Wang Chengyun and Ma Jun seemed somewhat interested.

Although Little Blue Bottle wasn’t officially listed yet, its marketing within niche circles had begun—something that any top figure couldn’t resist.

If participating meant a share of the pie, it would indeed be immensely lucrative.

However, after hesitating, Mu Li chose to tell the truth: ”What we can exchange with Mr. Zhou is merely his stock in Wangzhou Group, yet the pharmaceutical company of ’Little Blue Bottle’ may not be included.”

”Mu... President, are you crazy?”

Wang Chengyun finally reached his limit, holding back from directly calling Mu Li by name, but he stood up and said angrily, ”So you’re saying you’d give away Heavenly Palace Group’s equity for free for a vague hope without any concrete promises?”

”I don’t know who this Mr. Zhou is, even if he’s as impressive as you say, but personally, I think truthfully cooperating with those families in Hong Kong Island is the only way out.”

Hearing Wang Chengyun’s sudden change in tone, Mu Li became instantly alert regarding his previous suggestions.

”Mr. Wang, what do you mean by that...?”

”Meaning?” Wang Chengyun sneered, ”Do you think the young master from the Huo family, the second from the Li family, and President Huang... why are they on board today? I’m not afraid to tell you, I’ve already given them some private promises.”
