The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1391: Chapter 541: Good Girl

”How much does a single girl living alone in Peng City spend each month?”

The phone screen glowed faintly, and the girl lazily curled up in her blanket suddenly saw this question on Little Sweet Potato.

She was immediately intrigued and clicked on the topic, browsing through the answer with the most comments—

”Rent 4300, utilities and property 850, parking monthly pass 250, garbage fee 90, social security 1500, cat 300, highway 300, car insurance 700, car electricity 360, food 3000, cosmetic treatments 1200, clothes 500, skincare 200, daily necessities 200, phone bill 100, social engagements not counted...”

”Total is 14050 yuan.”

There was a lot of controversy in the comments below.

Most of them were skeptical.

”I won’t talk about the others, but just the car insurance, it says 700 per month, that’s 8400 a year. Assuming your car is two years old, then a single girl renting an apartment is using a 500,000 yuan car? Your income must be at least 500,000 yuan per year to afford that... Too fake.”

”Rent so cheap, it doesn’t look like a mansion, and the property fee, utilities, and garbage fee are close to 1000, a bit ridiculous; my hundred-plus-square-meter house doesn’t cost that much.”

”4300 rent is too extravagant, the house I bought with a loan costs only 3400.”

”24 years old, with a monthly income of 39,000, I don’t even dare to spend like this. My fixed monthly expenses are 3000, the rest go into savings and investments.”

Amidst these doubts, there were some implicit boasts that made Sun Xining curl her lip.

It actually matched quite well her impression of many Peng City people over the past few months.

Bringing their mom out with a sack on their back... Who are you trying to fool!

However, there were also plenty of comments supporting this girl, which gave Sun Xining a sense of clarity.

”This budget is quite realistic in Peng City, but the comment section is full of all sorts of remarks; it only shows that the disparities in the world are everywhere.”

”Yeah, some people only dare to spend a few thousand a month, and find expenses of tens of thousands extravagant, and seeing cosmetic treatment expenses gets them sarcastic, it just means they’re not from the same world, only of similar biological structure...”

”At first glance, it seems like a lot, but each item is very reasonable, this is why I don’t keep track of expenses in Peng City...”

”The clothes and skincare products are already quite frugal. In a city like this, if girls don’t live a little more refined, can you expect anyone to notice you when you go out?”

When she saw this comment, Sun Xining couldn’t help but nod in agreement and gave it a like.

Yes, in a place like Peng City, where there are refined goddesses everywhere, you can’t just live looking worn-out, right?

Actually, when she decided to come to Peng City, Sun Xining was really longing for a brand new beginning.

Saying goodbye to her past self, working properly like a normal person, meeting the right person to marry, then having kids, growing old, or before dying, if she’d saved enough, traveling everywhere, and maybe finally setting her tombstone in the Arctic or Antarctic...

In that way, she would leave a bit of a unique mark on this world.

But upon arriving in Peng City, Sun Xining realized some things were indeed too idealized in her mind.

Although her experiences were always quite rebellious, even ”shocking” to most ordinary people, no matter how others viewed her, at least Sun Xining felt she always retained a pure place in her heart.

She was lost and indulged in material desires, yet stubbornly reserved her final innocence, wanting to give it to the man worth entrusting her life to.

But... working diligently was really tiring!

She is now employed in a regular beauty company, about fifty to sixty people in size, which is quite considerable in Ming City, but in Peng City, it’s just a medium-small company, with such companies everywhere in their office building.

Her starting salary was only 8500, partly because their company considers itself within the internet industry with relatively high starting standards, and also because Sun Xining had outstanding looks, the company plans to train her as a key employee for live streaming, so they offered a relatively generous base salary.

After a few months of effort, Sun Xining’s monthly income is now around fifteen to sixteen thousand.

Compared to most ordinary undergraduates just graduating, she is considered outstanding. Her department leader, who obviously has a thing for her, Brother Chen, has promised more than once to give her another raise by the end of the year, and her salary should then exceed twenty thousand.

But, what is twenty thousand really enough for?

Sun Xining agreed with the earlier post because her monthly expenses are even more extravagant than the other’s.

For convenience in going to work, she is renting a single apartment in the core area of Luohu District, and the rent alone costs over five thousand each month... Of course, it’s fortunate that her family helped cover this expense when she came to Peng City, so there’s not much pressure.

But makeup, skin care, and the clothes and bags she has to buy every month add up to more than her rent.

Sun Xining knows she can’t spend money as freely as she used to, but she just can’t control herself... really, she’s tried very hard, but some habits aren’t something you can change overnight.

Up to now, she hasn’t saved a penny from her monthly salary and even owes Jack Ma around thirty to forty thousand.

She knows that if she just asked her father, Sun Liancheng, who is the director of the archives, even though he’s been transferred to an idle position, he’d easily be able to help pay off the tens of thousands of yuan.
