The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 100: Chapter 94: Fight the Boss Tonight (Requesting First Subscription)_2

“Don’t whine, don’t pay up, come bite me if you dare.”

Zhou Wang shot back, then promptly blocked Cui Min’er.

Just as he was about to put his phone down, an unknown call came in.

Zhou Wang glanced at it. It was a local number, so he raised an eyebrow and answered.

He initially thought it was Cui Min’er calling, but upon answering, he realized he was wrong.

...

“Hello, hello, sorry to bother you. Is this Mr. Zhou Wang?”

“It is. Who’s this?”

Zhou Wang used to be quite patient with calls from strangers, being polite and all. But after realizing most calls were either sales pitches or shady deals, his patience began to wear thin.

At times like this, he could somewhat understand how those wealthy folks got their unyielding attitude—

“Hello, Mr. Zhou. I’m Wang Chunsheng, the manager from Yalong Real Estate ‘Spring Eye’ Deputy Tower Property Service Center.”

“Hello, Manager Wang. What’s the matter?”

Upon hearing the caller’s identity, Zhou Wang realized it must be about his apartment.

“Mr. Zhou, regarding the penthouse unit J you purchased— you scheduled to receive it tomorrow, correct?”

“Yeah, is there a problem?”

“If possible, could you come after one in the afternoon? Our open-air event hosted by Yalong Real Estate at ‘Spring Eye’ won’t conclude until then, so I might not have time to meet you before.”

“Alright, I’ll come after one o’clock.”

“Thank you for understanding, so sorry for the inconvenience…”

With Wang Chunsheng’s incessant apologies, Zhou Wang ended the call.

But just as he put his phone down, Zhou Wang’s brows furrowed.

Wait a minute!

Technically, he’s a big spender who dropped a billion. Forget about an event—there’s no way he’d be asked to wait even if they were kicking off a damn company annual meeting!

In these situations, the property center should be accommodating his schedule, even if it’s just a few hours’ difference.

Though he came from modest beginnings, lately Zhou Wang was getting the hang of having a wealthy person’s mindset.

Yalong Real Estate…

A thought suddenly struck Zhou Wang. He opened his social media and scrolled down until he found a post Sun Yi made yesterday.

“Yalong Real Estate ‘Spring Eye’ Grand Opening, invited VIPs… July 18th, sharp at 9 AM, see you there!”

He thought for a moment, then made a quick voice call.

Sun Yi picked up quickly, her voice betraying a hint of surprise.

“Hello, Mr. Zhou!”

After viewing the house that time, except for during the registration of the property, Zhou Wang hadn’t contacted her again.

They ultimately became just verbal acquaintances.

There were one or two times when Sun Yi couldn’t resist sending a message to Zhou Wang, but upon receiving no reply, the self-aware Sun Yi gave up her fantasy.

She understood that Zhou Wang wasn’t interested in her.

Yet upon receiving Zhou Wang’s call, she couldn’t help but have a glimmer of hope in her heart.

“Xiao Yi, let me ask you something. What time does that outdoor event Yalong Real Estate is hosting end tomorrow?”

“The internal schedule suggests around eleven, but with the lottery interaction at the end, it might take longer. Based on previous experiences, at most it should be around half-past eleven…”

Sun Yi quickly replied.

“Does the property center also need to take part in this?”

“Property?” Sun Yi was puzzled for a moment, “Isn’t that the marketing department’s job? At most, the property folks, like us, are just helping out a bit…”

“Got it.”

Having gotten his answer, Zhou Wang thought for a moment, then asked, “Will you be there tomorrow?”

“I will. I’m part of the event planning team, so I’ll be on site to handle things… Mr. Zhou, are you coming?”

“Yeah, I’ll take a look. I’ll contact you then.”

“Okay!”

Sun Yi cheerfully agreed.

After hanging up, Zhou Wang displayed an amused smile. This was indeed intriguing. He didn’t quite get it, but assuming his guess was right, why would Manager Wang lie to him?

…

“Brother!”

It was almost 8 PM when Old Yang brought Su Yajing back from University City.

Upon entering, Su Yajing ran towards Zhou Wang, ready to jump into his arms.

But Zhou Wang signaled her to wait, fished out a hundred from his wallet, and handed it to the staff who helped with her luggage—

Two big suitcases, a backpack, and three shopping bags. Even with a cart, it wasn’t exactly easy. Courtesy was due.

“Thanks for your hard work.”

“Thank you, Mr. Zhou!”

The staff expressed his gratitude and quietly left.

“Brother, it didn’t even occur to me to tip, I guess I’m still such a novice.”

Su Yajing playfully stuck out her tongue.

“It’s not about being a novice, just about not having money… If wealthy, no one would mind showing a bit more respect.”

Zhou Wang chuckled, pinched her cheek, and led her to the dining table, “Let’s have dinner first.”

“Wow, French cuisine!”

Noticing the candlelit table and roses, along with an array of Western delicacies, Su Yajing exclaimed in delight.

Seeing her ecstatic reaction, Zhou Wang smiled.

Some things, albeit cliché, are timelessly effective. The standard of elegance is set in stone.

Marseille fish soup, Burgundy beef, and the classic French baked snails… Zhou Wang even opened a “legendary” bottle of ’82 Lafite.

Though he wasn’t particularly drawn to the hyped stuff, trying it out was a must.

Actually, in recent years, as everyone came to their senses, the price of Lafite had been dropping. This bottle, which could’ve sold for over a hundred thousand a decade ago, now only costs fifty or sixty thousand.

Knowing the drill, Zhou Wang let Su Yajing take pictures for about ten minutes before pulling her to sit down.

“Hey, did Cui Min’er ask you for my WeChat?”

In between bites, Zhou Wang recalled something and asked.

“Yeah, she did. She said both Duoduo and Tongtong added you, so she wanted to add you too.”

Mentioning Cui Min’er, a shiver ran down Su Yajing’s spine, as she remembered something and said, “When Duoduo and I were leaving, she and her oppa were arguing. It seemed like last night her oppa couldn’t reach her. They were having quite the fight!”

“Did they make up?” Zhou Wang curiously asked.

“They made up right away! It was just a misunderstanding. Min’er got drunk, her phone died, and both Duoduo and I vouched for her. Duoduo even helped explain on the phone for a while. In the end, it turned out her oppa was the one begging for forgiveness and even sent her Ten Million Korean Won!”

“Damn.”

Zhou Wang couldn’t help but mutter a curse.

Turns out Cui Min’er was playing him… Likely, when she was adding him as a friend, most of her anger was feigned. The main goal was to get that so-called “emotional compensation.”

Luckily, he was sharp enough not to fall for her trick.

Shaking his head, Zhou Wang paused from eating after a few bites, leisurely sipping wine, and gazing at Su Yajing.

“Tasty?”

“Yeah, it’s good!”

“Eat more if you like it. And don’t just drink wine, drink more water too…”

“Got it!”

While nodding obediently, Su Yajing asked in confusion, “Brother, why aren’t you eating?”

“Oh, I’m saving room for other things.”

Tonight, Zhou Wang planned to be a warrior challenging the Boss, thinking it wise not to overstuff before intense activity.

“Other things?”

She blinked, seemingly understanding, and guessed correctly what he meant. Quietly, she sped up her eating.

Moments later, Su Yajing wiped her mouth with a napkin, rinsed with water, and took out peach lipstick from her small bag, carefully applying it to her lips.

“Full?” Zhou Wang asked upon seeing her actions.

Unexpectedly, she shook her head.

While Zhou Wang remained puzzled, Su Yajing ducked under the table, slowly crawling over, and, embracing his legs, looked up at him pitifully.

“Brother, I’m still hungry, I want dessert…”

“Have some.”

Of course, Zhou Wang wouldn’t let her go hungry, affectionately stroking her head.

Su Yajing beamed, but didn’t rush to enjoy the dessert. She first picked up the glass of Lafite in front of Zhou Wang and took a sip.

As she began savoring her so-called hunger pangs, Zhou Wang inhaled sharply, instinctively gripping her hair.

Tasting the wine before dessert.

Woman, you do know how to savor fine dining—
