The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 63: Chapter 60 A Phone Call Triggered…

Just… where was the gold?

Zhou Wang looked around in confusion, then opened the system warehouse for a peek, but found no trace of the gold.

Ding-dong!

At that moment, a text message came through on his phone.

“CMB, your card ending in 1111 successfully opened a gold account on July 10 at 10:26.”

“CMB, 3000g of gold was deposited into your current gold account on July 10 at 10:27.”

...

Did it go directly to the bank?

Zhou Wang curiously opened the bank app to check, and sure enough, besides his original savings and investment accounts, there was now a gold account displaying his gold holdings in grams.

Thinking it over, Zhou Wang felt too lazy to delve into it and placed a call.

“Mr. Zhou, good morning, how can I assist you?”

The call took a while to connect, and then the pleasant voice of Xu Wenqian, the bank’s dedicated customer service, came through with a smile in her tone.

“It’s like this, I bought some gold from your bank, but there are a few things I don’t quite understand…”

After a while, with Xu Wenqian’s patient explanation, Zhou Wang understood how to use this gold account.

It was actually a form of short-term precious metal investment. The gold he bought could earn interest and be bought or sold at any time, but the price of gold fluctuated with the international market, so there was a possibility of loss.

However, considering the overall market trend of gold prices was upward, there was no rush to exchange it for cash.

Additionally, the gold in the account could also be exchanged for physical gold at the bank, which might be needed at certain times.

“Thank you, I think I got it.”

“Mr. Zhou, I’m glad I resolved your questions, um… are you free today? To thank you for your trust, I would like to treat you to a meal.”

Xu Wenqian hesitated for a moment and then asked hopefully.

Zhou Wang was about to answer when, with an exclamation from Xu Wenqian, the call was abruptly disconnected.

Startled, Zhou Wang quickly dialed back, but it took a long time without getting through.

As he hesitated whether to call another client manager, Old Wang, Xu Wenqian called back.

“Are you okay?” Zhou Wang asked upon picking up.

“Sorry, sorry, I’m fine, the signal here might not be good, Mr. Zhou, please continue.”

Xu Wenqian’s voice was slightly breathless.

“It was nothing, it’s just that your call cut off suddenly earlier, and I thought something happened to you, as long as you’re okay.”

Zhou Wang chuckled, then declined, “As for the meal you mentioned, I’m quite busy these days, let’s talk about it later.”

This wasn’t the first time Xu Wenqian had offered to treat him to a meal, but Zhou Wang didn’t want to go for now, preferring to focus on reading for a few days.

“Alright then, Mr. Zhou, I won’t disturb you, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time.”

Xu Wenqian was clearly a bit disappointed; she paused and added, “Besides finance, I know a bit about insurance and real estate too, oh, and Mr. Zhou, I’m also fluent in Japanese and Korean…”

As she got to the end, Xu Wenqian felt a bit embarrassed and her voice grew softer.

She suddenly realized that skills like Japanese and Korean might not be of much use to Zhou Wang, so why was she even mentioning them?

“Mm?”

She didn’t know that on the other end, Zhou Wang was suddenly interested; these language skills were quite appealing!

However, Zhou Wang didn’t show it and was stirred when he heard her mention “real estate.”

“Speaking of real estate, are you familiar with the Ming City real estate market?”

“I’m relatively familiar, and I’ve been paying attention to that recently.”

Xu Wenqian instinctively replied.

“There’s something I might need your help with.”

“Mr. Zhou, please go ahead!”

Xu Wenqian’s voice turned cheerful.

“It’s like this, I need to buy a house, but I don’t have time to search around, so I wanted to ask for your advice.”

Zhou Wang remembered the house he promised to buy for Jiang Mo was still pending and estimated they would return soon. If Xu Wenqian could handle this, it would save him a lot of trouble.

“What’s your budget, Mr. Zhou, and what will it be used for? Do you have any specific requirements for the location or layout?”

“For budget, around five million should do. I want a newly decorated, ready-to-move-in property close to the city center if possible. The layout doesn’t matter… something cozy would be nice.”

Zhou Wang thought and added, “If five million is not enough, I can add a little more.”

On the other end, Xu Wenqian was noticeably breathless.

Ming City, though a provincial capital, wasn’t a first-tier city. In the main urban area, the average house price was just over ten thousand, so a five million budget was substantial enough for a mid-to-high-end community.

What made Xu Wenqian both excited and nervous was that Zhou Wang entrusted her with such an “important” task.

“Mr. Zhou, there should be plenty of suitable communities. I’ll do an initial screening for you and then send the properties that meet your requirements for your review.”

“That works, but not too many, just two or three options will suffice. If there’s something special, feel free to make a reservation, and then take me for a look.”

“I understand, I’ll select carefully, rest assured!”

Xu Wenqian promptly replied.

“This is urgent for me, so how long might you need?”

“Not long, if I dedicate some time, I could take you to see properties by tomorrow.”

Xu Wenqian confidently said.

“Alright then, but I’m only available in the evening after your work hours, will that be okay?”

“Mr. Zhou, I’m here to serve you 24/7, so don’t mind my schedule. I’ll contact you tomorrow?”

“OK, see you tomorrow.”

Zhou Wang responded and hung up the call.

He glanced at his account again; after Su Yajing’s large expenditure today, his personal cash returned to around two million. Excluding the untouchable basic amount of one million, Zhou Wang was actually quite “poor.”

This kind of poverty was relative to his current quality of life, incomparable to before.

On the other hand, Jiang Mo’s “Desire Consumption Gold” was close to six million, and even in her absence, occasional entries were made from her moments of joy, making her wealthier than Zhou Wang now.

Thankfully, this two million in gold was timely, and Zhou Wang didn’t have major expenses to worry about for now.

…

Elsewhere.

In an unfinished apartment, Xu Wenqian, having ended the call, took a deep breath and turned to her boyfriend, who wore a stern expression, glaring angrily.

“What’s gotten into you? Why did you suddenly snatch my phone? Don’t you know I was on a call with a client?”
