The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 68: Chapter 65: The World of the Rich is Hard to Understand

“Uh… Mr. Zhou, should we go in and take a look?”

Xu Wenqian’s soft call brought Zhou Wang back to reality.

He gave an apologetic smile.

“Sorry, Manager Xu, I was just lost in thought. Let’s go in.”

“Please, there’s no need to be so formal, you can just call me Xiao Xu or Wenxi.”

Xu Wenqian said with a smile, handing shoe covers to Zhou Wang as she searched for them.

...

Zhou Wang nodded and put on the shoe covers, while the two women behind him simply took off their high heels and walked in with their little feet wrapped in stockings.

“The apartment has a 4-bedroom, 2-living room, 3-bathroom layout, facing north and south, with two balconies. The developer’s design concept for the renovation is close to nature… Sorry, Mr. Zhou, let Qianqian explain to you first, I need to take a call.”

As they reached the living room, the urgent ringing of a phone interrupted Sun Yi’s explanation. After apologizing, she hurriedly went to the balcony to answer the call.

Zhou Wang didn’t mind, but at that moment, Xu Wenqian, seeing Sun Yi had walked away, softly said:

“Mr. Zhou, I need to explain something to you. Although this is a new complex, actually there are very few suitable ready-to-occupy units left, and the benefit of working with Xiao Yi is that she can help you screen for the most suitable listings and negotiate the best discounts for you…”

Zhou Wang understood her concerns halfway through her explanation.

Since “Cui Lake First Class” was a newly sold development, theoretically, Zhou Wang could also buy directly from the sales office without going through Sun Yi.

Xu Wenqian was evidently worried he’d mistakenly think she had any personal motives, so she specifically clarified.

“Don’t worry, I’m not that narrow-minded. Besides, in this society, it’s easier to get things done through acquaintances, and having your help is reassuring.”

“We won’t let you down!”

Hearing Zhou Wang’s trust, Xu Wenqian was visibly moved, promptly saying, “I’ll show you around first, so you can get a general feel?”

“Okay.”

Following Xu Wenqian’s explanation, Zhou Wang took a tour everywhere.

Overall, Zhou Wang was quite satisfied with what he saw.

The 189 square meters couldn’t be called a large flat, but it was already spacious. It’s just that Jiang Mo, who inherently liked solitude due to social barriers, was the one. If it were any other woman, Zhou Wang would worry if she’d be scared alone.

The overall decor style of the house was a marble-tone natural style, which also quite matched the cool and calm Jiang Mo.

Of course, the style wasn’t that important. If one didn’t like it, they could always demolish and redo it—the perks of having money revealed themselves once more.

By the time the two roughly finished circling around, Sun Yi returned, unnoticed by Xu Wenqian but immediately detected by Zhou Wang.

“Have you been crying?” Zhou Wang asked, somewhat surprised.

Xu Wenqian quickly looked at Sun Yi upon hearing this and indeed found her eyes reddened, “Xiao Yi, what’s wrong?”

“I’m fine.” Sun Yi forced a smile.

“Did your supervisor give you trouble again?” Xu Wenqian frowned.

“I… he said I need to make a public self-criticism at tomorrow’s morning meeting and that I didn’t meet performance targets, so… the allowance for this month will also be deducted…”

Not asking was fine, but once Xu Wenqian asked, Sun Yi couldn’t hold it any longer, sobbing and stuttering her story.

“How can he do this, you’re not the only one in your department underperforming, he’s just deliberately targeting you!”

Xu Wenqian asked angrily, “Is it because you refused to drink with him that time, and now he’s…”

“Qianqian, stop, Mr. Zhou is still here.”

After crying for a while, Sun Yi calmed down and hurriedly stopped Xu Wenqian, embarrassed.

“Sorry, Mr. Zhou, we…”

Xu Wenqian also realized and quickly apologized to Zhou Wang.

“It’s fine.”

Zhou Wang smiled understandingly and curiously asked Sun Yi, “Is your performance target very high?”

“Not very high, it’s mainly that I haven’t closed a deal for over two months, so…”

Sun Yi explained briefly, then quickly adjusted her expression and smiled again, “Mr. Zhou, do you have any questions regarding this apartment? If not, we can take you to see the next one.”

“No need to see other apartments.”

Zhou Wang shook his head.

Sun Yi thought the previous incident had caused Zhou Wang’s aversion, and she turned pale, hurriedly trying to say something, but Zhou Wang just casually smiled.

“I think this one’s very OK, let’s go with it.”

Zhou Wang didn’t want to fuss.

Anyway, with the budget set, there might be better options, but essentially not much difference. At least the location of this apartment was optimal, which was enough.

Hearing Zhou Wang’s words, both Xu Wenqian and Sun Yi were momentarily stunned.

“Mr. Zhou, you mean…”

Sun Yi, who finally caught on, breathed heavily but still couldn’t quite believe it.

“Exactly as you think, I want this apartment. Can we sign the contract now?”

“Ah, yes, we can, we can…”

Sun Yi exclaimed and quickly asked repeatedly.

As an experienced saleswoman, Sun Yi normally wouldn’t lose her composure like this. The main reason was she’d never seen a buyer as decisive as Zhou Wang before.

From entering the complex to reaching the decision to purchase, the whole process took no more than half an hour—a time not even enough for them girls to buy a piece of clothing.

After all, this was a product worth over five million!

And Zhou Wang hardly asked about any details, not even haggling over the most crucial price. If she hadn’t experienced all this firsthand, Sun Yi would have assumed such a person must be a fool.

“Um, Mr. Zhou, just to confirm, are you going to pay in full or…”

“In full.”

“Alright, alright, please wait a moment, I’ll contact the sales office to have them bring over the contract and process the paperwork for you.”

Sun Yi was so excited she almost jumped, quickly pulling out her phone and busily occupied herself on the side.

At this time, Xu Wenqian finally came back to her senses. Although she wholeheartedly wanted to help her best friend close this deal, it seemed too fast, so fast she didn’t even feel secure.

“Mr. Zhou, are you sure you don’t want to look at other apartments and compare comprehensively? Perhaps… you should consider a bit more carefully?”

In the end, Xu Wenqian couldn’t help but cautiously persuade Zhou Wang.

“No need, it’s not about the money, let’s just go with this.”

Zhou Wang’s casual demeanor once again shocked Xu Wenqian. She opened her mouth but ultimately said nothing.

Maybe, this is the world of the rich?

It was normal if she didn’t understand.

Thinking of how she and her boyfriend had been agonizing for months over a wedding apartment, unable to make a decision, Xu Wenqian’s feelings grew even more complex.

It was already past normal off-work hours at this moment, but in sales, there were no holidays. Half an hour later, Zhou Wang swiped his card, signed the contract, and only had to go to the housing administration office for registration and transfer the next day for the apartment to be completely his.

After seeing off the people from the sales office, only then did Sun Yi’s heart completely settle. She looked back at Zhou Wang, who was chatting with Xu Wenqian on the balcony, and couldn’t help but nervously bite her lip.

A moment later, Sun Yi made up her mind and approached, calling out to Xu Wenqian.

“Hey… Qianqian, I forgot to buy drinks, maybe you could go get two coffees? I still need Mr. Zhou to confirm a few details about this apartment, which might take some time.”
