The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 91: Chapter 86: Fantasies Triggered by Gourmet Food

Zhou Wang returned to the hotel to find only Su Yajing and Shen Yutong sitting at the dining table.

“Brother, you’re back!”

Su Yajing, wearing just a T-shirt and shorts, ran over smiling and jumped into his arms, wrapping her bare legs around his waist.

The light in her eyes could make anyone believe in love again.

What happened last night had a big impact on Su Yajing; Zhou Wang’s “confession” hit all her sweet spots.

Luxury, vanity, costly romance, worldly envy…

...

At that moment, Su Yajing felt she could give anything for Zhou Wang.

Zhou Wang laughed as he ruffled her hair, then asked with feigned surprise, “Where are Cui Min’er and Yu Duo?”

Su Yajing turned to Shen Yutong, indicating that she should explain.

“Min’er already left, seemed like she had something urgent. As for Duoduo… she’s still in the room, says she’s not feeling well.”

Shen Yutong’s expression was a bit peculiar.

In fact, she had seen Yu Duo peek her head out, but she pulled it back when she saw Shen Yutong, leaving her unsure what was going on.

Zhou Wang paused, thinking it suited their personalities. He was just surprised Cui Min’er hadn’t questioned him about the message incident.

“Let’s eat first, no worries. If needed, I’ll have Bella get some medicine later.”

Zhou Wang smiled, and Su Yajing didn’t mind. After all, it was Yu Duo’s first time drinking so much; feeling unwell was normal.

“Brother, shall I ask the waiter to serve the dishes?”

Seeing Zhou Wang had no objections, Su Yajing pressed the call button. Soon, led by Bella, a waiter wheeled in a serving cart.

As soon as Zhou Wang saw the lunch served on the table, he exclaimed, “Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodles?”

Although a local, he hadn’t had this in a long time. He usually ate small-pot rice noodles and fried potatoes more frequently.

Caiyun University’s cafeteria had a section for crossing the bridge rice noodles, but it was only to humor students from other provinces, not winning over locals.

“Bella suggested it, saying since we drank last night, some soup would be soothing ~”

Su Yajing explained with a smile.

“Thoughtful, it looks decent.”

Zhou Wang nodded in acknowledgment to Bella, who stood smiling nearby.

The hotel kitchen had prepared the crossing the bridge rice noodles with care, regardless of its authenticity; the presentation showed effort.

Zhou Wang had visited Meng City, the birthplace of crossing the bridge rice noodles, with high school classmates before. A well-off friend once treated him to a 398-yuan bowl of it.

Typically, that’s the high end for a regular shop.

Yet, compared to the hotel’s carefully prepared dish, it still fell short.

Besides the usual ingredients, there were high-end items like sea cucumber and matsutake.

The sequence of adding ingredients was specific; the chef even provided instructions, which only intrigued non-local Shen Yutong, who took several pictures.

Of course, there was no need for them to do it themselves; once they asked, the waiter managed everything.

The mouthwatering old chicken broth mixed with rice noodles and toppings made Zhou Wang eager to dig in, though he reminded Shen Yutong, “The soup’s at least 85 degrees, be careful.”

Shen Yutong nodded, mimicking Zhou Wang and Su Yajing by first scooping out some soup to sip.

“Very delicious.”

Having been in Ming City for almost two years, Shen Yutong had tried crossing the bridge rice noodles before, but the quality was not on par with a five-star hotel.

Of course, a star hotel’s taste isn’t necessarily better, but… was Shen Yutong really concerned about taste?

She glanced at Su Yajing, who found any excuse to get cozy with Zhou Wang even while eating, and felt a twinge of envy emerge again.

It was predictable that this high-quality lifestyle was about to become Su Yajing’s norm.

While Shen Yutong was deep in thought, Zhou Wang also spaced out a bit, though he pondered…

He didn’t have to work anymore and could realize his dream of touring the country.

Like the crossing the bridge rice noodles, how many local delicacies did Huaxia have all over?

Though with today’s advanced logistics, it seemed easy to sample local specialties from afar, the experience felt different.

Yes, he could also occasionally travel abroad; thanks to the system’s guidance, he wouldn’t abandon his reading habit despite the rounds of reading having ended.

To read a million books, one should also travel a million miles. There were so many sights in this world that Zhou Wang wanted to see—

After a brief reverie, Zhou Wang returned from his thoughts.

Zhou Wang ate quickly. Even with the hot noodles, he finished in about ten minutes, while the two girls’ bowls were still full as if untouched.

Zhou Wang shook his head, wiped his mouth, and stood up with the medicine box Bella had brought.

“You go ahead and eat, I’ll go check on Yu Duo.”

Su Yajing nodded with an “mm-hmm,” her expression unchanged, but Shen Yutong was slightly puzzled, shouldn’t Bella go as it’s more convenient…

Since Su Yajing said nothing, Yutong refrained as well.

…

Zhou Wang arrived at the room’s door and knocked. Yu Duo’s lazy voice came from inside, “Who is it?”

“Me.”

Upon hearing Zhou Wang’s response, there was a rustling inside, then silence.

Zhou Wang knocked on the door again leisurely, giving the impression he wouldn’t leave without it opening. After a moment, urgent footsteps approached, and the door opened just a crack, revealing a pair of bright eyes.

Seeing no one else beside Zhou Wang, Yu Duo breathed a sigh of relief, quickly pulling him inside, then shutting and relocking the door.

“Zhou Wang, why… why are you here?”

Yu Duo leaned against the door, her head slightly bowed in embarrassment tinged with a hint of panic.

Zhou Wang could tell she was trying hard to stay calm, but she couldn’t quite manage it like Su Yajing, appearing a bit ridiculous.

What amused Zhou Wang more was the towel wrapped securely around her neck. Yu Duo already had a small face, making her look like a cute little potato popping up from the ground.

“I heard you’re ‘sick,’ so I came to see if I could cure you.”

“Oh, you’re here to give me medicine? Okay then, I’ve received it, you can leave now.”

Yu Duo didn’t catch Zhou Wang’s teasing tone and relaxed, reaching for the medicine in his hand.

But Zhou Wang tossed the medicine box aside nonchalantly, “I never said anything about taking medicine.”

“Then what is it?”

Yu Duo looked up in confusion.

Zhou Wang smiled, leaned close to Yu Duo, and whispered in her ear, “Have you ever heard of… the kissing therapy?”
