Pillar of Yita

At this point, Luo Hao’s thoughts coincided with his.

But the problem was Fang Hong asked: ”How do we lure them over?”

Luo Hao then replied: ”From such a distance, they may not be able to clearly see your profession.”

Fang Hong immediately understood.

Among the many professions in Eteliria, if there’s one that poses a greater threat the further it stands, it is naturally the ranged professions. However, even within ranged professions, the level of threat has its priorities, divided into different ranks.

In team combat, it is naturally the Combat Artisan that is the most crucial. Their battlefield scouting abilities are unmatched, making them the top priority for elimination.

However, in squad-level combat, things are different because the engagement distance for squad combat is closer than team battles. At this distance, the scouting abilities of Nightingales and Rangers take precedence, severely diminishing the advantages of Combat Artisans.

At this distance, the real threat comes from Magic Guided Conductors and Elementalists.

Powerful spells require time to prepare, thus for these two professions, distance is life. Conversely, when other professions face Magic Guided Conductors and Elementalists, it’s the same logic.

However, Fang Hong being an honest kid, naturally isn’t as cunning as the fat guy. After thinking for a while, he couldn’t help but ask: ”How do I disguise myself as a Magic Guided Conductor? Pretend to chant spells? Will they believe it?”

Luo Hao shook his head: ”From such a distance, they can’t see clearly either. It needs to be more obvious; bring out a Magic Guided Wand.”

”Where would I get one of those?”

Luo Hao was somewhat frustrated with his captain’s honesty, glaring: ”Aren’t you an Artisan by profession?”

Fang Hong finally realized in his heart, thinking to himself that this fat guy is really too crafty to come up with such a sneaky trick.

However, he was also secretly excited, saying: ”Lend me your dagger.” Then, taking advantage of Luo Hao’s cover, he unsheathed the long dagger from Luo Hao’s belt and quietly opened the Artisan System, quickly transforming the dagger into a short staff.

Luo Hao wasn’t concerned about his plain dagger, just almost thinking he was seeing things: ”My god, you didn’t activate a cheat, did you? That was too fast!”

”Every profession has its specialization,” Fang Hong raised the short staff high, fearing the opposite side might not see it, then began ’chanting spells’: ”West Wind Element, heed my command—”

Luo Hao got goosebumps listening: ”Stop, stop, where did you get that spell from?”

Fang Hong also felt something was off, blushing: ”I made it up, is there a problem?”

”No problem, it’s just embarrassingly amateurish, but luckily they can’t hear it.”

Even thick-skinned Fang Hong couldn’t help but fall silent, unable to continue reciting the spells, his mouth just opening and closing silently.

But the Agility Swordmaster of the distant Dragonfire Guild had no idea these two were putting on such a show.

He saw Fang Hong pull out a Magic Guided Wand and chant incantations, immediately feeling alarmed, yet still managed to maintain some composure, stopping first to ask in the communication channel: ”Are there others nearby?”

A voice replied: ”No discoveries.”

”Just two?”

The voice confirmed.

The Agility Swordmaster quickly realized: ”They’re trying to stall us; the captain may be in danger—can’t let them cast spells, I’ll stop that Magic Guided Conductor, everyone follow me immediately.”

Then he drew his sword and leapt forward, flying over the tall shrubbery.

At this distance, confronting the enemy’s Magic Guided Conductor is risky, as who knows what spell they might cast when ready? The conventional tactic for melee combat against Magic Guided Conductors is, of course, to close the distance as quickly as possible. He also chose to approach Fang Hong and Luo Hao quickly from the flanks.

But this scene naturally came into Fang Hong’s view through the Vision of the Clockwork Fairy. He also saw that the Berserker and Dragon Cavalry Gunslinger hastened their steps.

Fang Hong then quietly said to Luo Hao: ”Retreat.”

”Which direction?”

”The Agility Swordmaster is to our left, let’s retreat in the opposite direction.”

Luo Hao immediately nodded, raised his shield, and moved to the right.

And Fang Hong, without a sound, under Luo Hao’s cover, dropped a small trinket on the ground.

Then he quietly said to Luo Hao: ”Right ahead, there’s a Dragon Cavalry Gunslinger, he’s dismounted.”

The Dragon Cavalry Gunslinger dismounted, naturally only for one thing—shooting.

At that moment, there was a flash of fire in the Forest, followed by a thunderous roar as a long white smoke rose from that direction. Luo Hao raised his shield at the crucial moment, blue light appearing on the shield with a dull ’ding’ sound.

Then came the second shot, which Luo Hao equally blocked without deviation.

He took a step back, murmuring: ”I have one more chance to be immune to physical attacks.”

Fang Hong knew this was the special Skill of the Iron Defender; without this Skill, he wouldn’t have been able to block a single shot with both his body and shield.

A Level 15 gap really isn’t easily overcome.

He nodded and whispered:

”Wait for my command.”

”Understood.”

Luo Hao didn’t ask what command that would be. He understood that at this moment, they must trust each other completely to cooperate seamlessly.

Fang Hong looked at him somewhat unexpectedly, impressed with the level of this military Invoker’s performance. Not to mention his combat capabilities, as an Iron Defender he was at least competent. However, his battlefield insight was among the few he had seen with exceptional capability.

Perhaps only Sophie had similar standards.
