Pillar of Yita

However, the Ranger Captain quickly made a gesture to a Magic Guided Conductor not far behind him.

The latter understood, raised his hand, and an invisible ripple swept forward with him as the center—Detection Magic, leaving no change in the forest.

But the Papalarians stained with Magic Power dust lit up like a thousand-watt bulb.

He was startled and quickly hid behind the tree trunk, immediately two arrows ’bang bang’, nailed to the trunk. Seeing the attack was ineffective, the Ranger leader put away the bow, raised his right hand and silently signaled to others indicating there was only one person there.

”Flank from both sides.”

From the spearhead group of the Dragonfire Guild, five people, except for the Combat Artisan who stayed in place and released three Clockwork Fairies. The others immediately split left and right, moving north through the forest, surrounding towards the direction of the Papalarians.

Fang Hong watched this scene through the vision in mid-air.

At this moment, he caught the position of the second Nightingale, moving like a shadow twelve meters to the left of the Iron Guard, sliding towards where Parker was, soon slipping out of his line of sight.

But he silently let these people pass—

When the second team of the Dragonfire Guild followed the spearhead squad through this area, golden spheres suddenly rose spinning from the dried leaves, buzzing and each flying towards its nearest target.

The elites of the Dragonfire Guild had not yet reacted to what these were when a blinding light reflected in their eyes. That pure, immaculate white light rushed into everyone’s pupils, replacing everything else they saw in that last moment.

A loud explosion.

Raging flames and shattering debris instantly engulfed the Iron Guard in the front, the healer behind him, another Ranger, and an Elementalist, along with the Magic Guided Conductor who had previously cast a spell.

The chain explosion’s power far exceeded the Papalarians’ previous Explosive Crossbow Bolts, and after a burst of golden light, the fierce wind almost blew the surrounding pine trees down in all directions.

The Combat Artisan in the back was pushed away, heavily slamming into a rock, almost seeing stars and nearly passing out. He looked up with a splitting headache, only to see from the vanished five ahead, only the Magic Guided Conductor’s single surviving hand, flying from the center of the explosion, landing in the soft pine forest.

The Combat Artisan opened his mouth.

At the moment of the explosion, the Ranger leader turned around, the strong wind hit his face, making his cloak flap loudly. He grabbed his cloak, realizing they had fallen into the opponent’s trap.

Yet, he didn’t feel much regret—for such an ambush was anticipated, and being in the open with the enemy in the dark always meant losing the initial advantage.

They lost the mage group, but it was still bearable.

The Ranger leader calmly assessed, and at the same time grabbed the Two-Handed Swordsman who wanted to return, gestured to another squad on the other side of the explosion:

”Go around in a circle.”

”Don’t come directly, there’s an ambush.”

The team members understood, nodding at him from a distance.

Then the Ranger leader patted his companion and spoke for the first time: ”Continue to find the opponent’s Crossbowman, don’t let them lead us by the nose.”

”We don’t have many options, we must seize the point the opponent has exposed, forcing them to show themselves.”

The Two-Handed Swordsman was startled, then nodded.

And above in the air, watching the Dragonfire Guild brigade split into two, Fang Hong was slightly taken aback. The opponent’s quick reaction and accurate judgment greatly exceeded his expectations—knowing that the opponent had made such a decision under an absolute battlefield perception disadvantage.

He had witnessed countless classic battle examples, pinnacle confrontations between Grand Guilds, those impressive battles, but they didn’t surprise him as much as this moment. Because those were from the Silver Forest Crown, the Rose Crusaders, or the hands of an Elite.

But right now it was just a Dragonfire Guild brigade, and even they had such level.

It could only be said that a brigade lived up to being a brigade, the gathering place of elites.

Fang Hong suddenly withdrew his underestimation, moved his fingers, and a golden light shot out from under the dried leaves, flying straight to the team turning in that direction.

But an Agility Swordmaster among them seemed to have eyes on the back of his head, suddenly turned around, drew his sword, and threw it behind. The Flying Dagger left his hand like a flash of lightning, shooting straight at his Clockwork Fairy, passing right through it.

The bisected Clockwork Fairy still maintained its forward flight due to inertia, then lost momentum and fell into the nearby pine forest.

Fang Hong realized from this scene that his Fire Giant would hardly hit them directly, or even approach. The Clockwork Fairy, keen and swift in the eyes of common people, seemed not such an unpredictable target in their eyes.

He immediately abandoned the follow-up attack.

After Level 20, various professions start to exert force, the first strong phase of Combat Artisans ends at Level 15, and only until after Level 27 ordinary Combat Artisans will usher in their second strong phase.

Until before Level 40.

In Fang Hong’s vision, that Agility Swordmaster stopped, frowning and looking in this direction. But the other side was obviously very cautious, not planning to come over to check, only turned back, and said to his teammates:

”Seems a bit like a Magic Thief’s Alchemy bomb, don’t know what it is.”

”But the Captain is right, there should be quite a few of these things in the forest, we better bypass this direction.”

Several people nodded together.

And when Fang Hong saw them leave, he then turned his gaze to the north. Understanding in his heart, this battle had just begun.
