Pillar of Yita

Meanwhile, Daisy was lazily basking in the sun, occasionally extending her pink little tongue to lick her paws, her gem-like beautiful eyes watching these boring humans below.

A big ’cat’ and a small one complemented each other well.

After Fang Hong finished nailing the house at the stern, it was almost noon. It might be because the ’little guest’ was too shy of people, he was never able to see it. Therefore, the debate about the Red-Necked Tit and the pine tree had to be temporarily set aside.

After everyone ate some dry food, they began the afternoon activities.

After passing through the Shimmering Galaxy, Mr. Greyrock found it increasingly difficult to procure food supplies in this area. The barren red stone sandy land didn’t have much prey, and there were only a few types of vegetation, most of which were inedible.

Atira also canceled the originally planned every-other-day afternoon tea party, which the Big Cat People found hard to adjust to.

In the afternoon, Tianlan’s fever subsided a lot before she went to the deck to catch some wind. The little girl regained some of her vigor, bossing Parker around who was cleaning the deck, almost making the latter jump with anger.

After three o’clock, Mr. Greyrock slowly entered the shadow of a canyon.

From here, looking east, one could see the towering crimson ridges, a vast wind-eroded landscape formed under the constant blowing of Istania’s sands day after day.

Passing through the canyon, they entered the territory of Idus.

It was then that Fang Hong asked someone to wake up Xiesta and Luo Yu, who had been on night watch and had slept until now, and everyone gathered in the meeting room, thus marking the official start of the day’s group meeting.

Tianlan sat in a corner, with Atira and Luo Yu beside her, one on each side.

Her face looked a bit sickly pale, with a faint blush. She coughed and curiously asked, ”Sister Hilveld, what are we discussing today... cough cough?”

The Elf Miss gently patted her back and handed her a cup of hot water.

”I’m not thirsty.”

”Drink more water.”

Atira’s words carried a slightly indisputable tone.

It seems at least when it comes to handling colds, the strategies in both worlds are the same.

Hilveld, holding a small notebook, smiled at everyone and said:

”Today we’re still discussing the layout of the cabins and issues related to the sails.”

Regarding the general structure of the ’Traveler of the Seven Seas’, everyone had more or less reached a consensus.

After all, they had no shipbuilding experience, so the first ship they built should not be too large. This way, even if a major mistake occurs during construction, they could start over. Therefore, in the end — the First Generation ’Traveler of the Seven Seas’ was determined to be a single-masted fore-and-aft rigged boat (sailing rig structure).

Such ships are very common in coastal areas, being the main style of small exploration ships and fishing boats. They are especially adept at navigating the complex winds of bay areas and can also penetrate inland, although not as suited for long voyages as square-rigged ships.

The ’Traveler of the Seven Seas’ was finally designed to be about nineteen meters long, with the mast’s highest point reaching twenty-five point four meters. Its beam width was about four meters, with a maximum capacity of thirty people, and Level 4 speed — that is, under full wind with no load, it could reach a speed of seven knots, sailing one hundred and sixty kilometers in a day.

The air league in Eteliria is approximately equal to 1.9 kilometers, so in ideal conditions, the ’Traveler of the Seven Seas’ could cover nearly three hundred kilometers in a day, which is much faster than Mr. Greyrock.

On the ship, in addition to the core Lift Cabin Section, infirmary, storeroom, ship’s carpenter room (for storing ship repair materials and spare sails), provisions store, and lower cargo hold, there was a kitchen, dining room, activity room, and winch room all included.

Additionally, there was a dedicated armory, with the Captain’s Room still placed at the stern but combined with the chart room to save space.

Originally, such a ship could also have a layer of gun deck installed, with four to six guns for self-defense, but the alchemy cannons usable in the Sky Sea were really too expensive. Thus, everyone could only attach one at the bow just for the sake of it.

Besides, as adventurers, they didn’t plan to engage in aerial combat with anyone.

And according to Eteliria’s classification of Floating Ships,

the ’Traveler of the Seven Seas’ is slightly larger than the Level 7 junk ships and a variety of small boats, but far from Level 6 Escort Ships. To the Grand Guild, it was almost insignificant. However, for every member of the Adventure Group, even just discussing building it —

Everyone was full of enthusiasm.

After all, it was their ship, and for an Adventure Group with an average level of less than twenty-five, owning a Floating Ship was already an incredibly lucky thing.

Thus, Fang Hong brought up the first issue:

’The standards for the storeroom.’

Don’t look down on the small storeroom; it held a crucial position on the ship.

After all, the storeroom differs from the lower cargo hold — generally, the lower cargo hold spans the entire bottom of the ship, used for placing those bulky, massive trade goods or reserve food and water. In contrast, the storeroom is much more sophisticated, typically used to store more critical supplies — for example, the Central Workshop on the ship, which stores various Alchemy Materials needed daily, would be kept in this place.

Most alchemy materials are hazardous, easily flammable or explosive, and even possess different magical attributes. Hence, under typical storage conditions, there are certain safety hazards. Furthermore, in the Sky Sea environment, unlike on Mr. Greyrock’s back, they would encounter storms, all kinds of weather conditions, and face Wind Element erosion.
