Pillar of Yita

Enan Modkaiser, as the youngest heir of the Phoenix Family, had two elder brothers above him. In theory, the inheritance of the Phoenix Holy Sword was almost impossible to fall on him. Furthermore, it was well known that he was not skilled in swordsmanship and not favored by the Duke.

However, in recent years, the Phoenix Family has repeatedly suffered great changes. First, the Duke’s second son died from falling off a horse, and then Prince Coleman, whom they supported, gradually moved away from the political center of the Kingdom, leading to a steep decline in the family’s prestige and power.

More recently, there has been a peculiar rumor that the nominal heir of the Modkaesar Family, the Duke’s eldest son who serves in the City Defense Force, has been missing for a long time.

Although this news has not yet spread widely, those who speak of it do so with conviction, as if it were indeed true. Moreover, since the arrival of the Ragnarok Guild in Dulun, the Duke’s Mansion has remained closed, causing the rumors to intensify.

If the second son’s death was merely a coincidence, then the mysterious disappearance of the eldest son easily draws attention to the only remaining young master of the Phoenix Family. After all, the struggle for noble inheritance is always such, and the former, as the greatest beneficiary of this series of events, inevitably arouses suspicion.

Nevertheless, upon hearing the guide’s depiction, Fang Hong felt a slight jolt in his heart.

He hadn’t forgotten the armor brought by Sophie—the markings on it must have belonged to the Duke’s eldest son. So it seemed he had indeed perished? Was the disappearance real?

He recalled the scene described by the Silver Weslan Princess in the snowstorm, the walking empty armor, and its owner in the shadows, feeling a slight surprise.

What connection did this have with the other party?

Suddenly, he had the thought of wanting to meet the young master of the Modkaesar Family.

Even if it was from a distance, it would suffice. The set of armor from Dolifen, along with this one, seemed to have a common point—both had traces of Dragon Worship Sect activity behind them.

He also recalled the conversation Parker and Tianlan had overheard about the Dragonfire Guild and the Shadow Throne.

Was this connected to the plan behind it?

Moreover, the oppressive atmosphere of this city constantly unsettled him.

After settling in, Lady Kuisu temporarily parted from them with her people, as she had to take others to purchase supplies. Meanwhile, Fang Hong had to wait for news from Miss Ship’s Officer.

Miss Tata accompanied them, and he sent a message to her reflexively, soon receiving a reply from Miss Fairy, who was on her way back.

Before long, he, along with Luo Yu and Xiangzi, met Hilveld downstairs at the inn. The latter, in a snow-white coat, stood out amidst the icy snow, wearing a veil, and smiled at them:

”Sorry to keep you waiting.”

”Did you find the person?” Fang Hong asked.

Hilveld nodded, ”We were lucky, Lord Captain, the person hasn’t moved out yet.”

Fang Hong couldn’t help being curious, momentarily setting aside his previous worries, and asked, ”Who exactly are you taking me to see, Miss Hilveld?”

Hilveld glanced at him.

”Like you, he’s a craftsman.”

”His name is Ande, my grandfather’s assistant, and a Fairy Master.”

”My mother also grew up under his care.”

”Isn’t the Lord Captain looking for someone to appraise the ring?” Hilveld grasped his hand, ”He’s also one of the best appraisers in the Southern Region.”
