Pillar of Yita

The opponent might be hiding elsewhere, waiting for him to take the bait and then attack him with spells when he’s unable to pull back, so Porthos kept a bit of power in reserve and was constantly cautious of attacks that might come from his surroundings.

But the musketeer never expected that he still guessed wrong.

The Magic Guided Conductor, seemingly indifferent, also pulled out a rapier from behind him, stepped forward, and crossed swords with him. Their swords clashed, sparking a trail of fire in the snowy wind.

And because Porthos kept a bit of strength in reserve, he suffered a great loss with the first strike—he clearly felt the opponent’s strength was far less than his, and as long as he attacked with full force, the opponent would surely be pushed back.

But there’s no medicine for regrets in this world. He exchanged a strike with the ’Magic Guided Conductor’, and both stepped back. Yet, at this moment, the opponent did something extremely incomprehensible—raised his left hand and pushed towards him.

What kind of swordsmanship is this? Porthos was momentarily surprised, with different sword techniques flashing in his mind. As a reserve member of the Elite Corps of Ragnarok, he was fairly knowledgeable, but he hadn’t seen this kind of sword technique.

Just as he hadn’t finished thinking, he suddenly felt an invisible force push him.

That push almost made him lose balance, he stumbled briefly before regaining his stance. And behind the ’Magic Guided Conductor’, the ’Wind Spirit Mark’ flashed, lifting the sword quickly like a lightning bolt, stabbing towards him.

Porthos cursed in his heart, realizing upon seeing the ’Wind Spirit Mark’ that he finally confirmed the opponent’s profession—indeed a Magic Guided Conductor, as only a Magic Guided Conductor could use this specific acceleration spell.

But at this moment, thinking anything was too late.

In the state of losing balance, Porthos could only barely block the strike, and this block placed him at a disadvantage with each sword swing. The ’Magic Guided Conductor’ was relentless, pressing the attack without giving him a moment to breathe.

The opponent struck seven consecutive sword swings, each nearly breaking his defense. By the eighth sword, Porthos’s Balance Value had fallen to the bottom limit, and evasion and blocking were almost reset to zero. ”I can still block one sword!” The thought flashed through his mind.

And at this moment, the ’Magic Guided Conductor’ suddenly shouted: ”Snowman, attack!”

Porthos was horrified, suddenly remembering there was still a snowman under the opponent’s control behind him.

He instinctively turned around, only to see the snowman standing still, even its head had long been blown away by the wind and snow, leaving just a short pile. Where was the snowman attack?

He suddenly sensed something was amiss, but his chest was already in severe pain.

A rapier pierced straight through there.

Porthos opened his mouth, spitting a mouthful of blood, as the system’s warning sound was sharp like a buzzer, repeatedly echoing in his mind. The shallow blue Light Page was slowly dimming, and when he looked up, the surrounding vision seemed to also gradually darken.

He felt someone shove him from behind, pushing him onto the snowy ground, the snow cold and biting.

Only then did he hear a voice from behind: ”Hey, can you hear me? How could a snowman move, are you stupid? Lucky for me you’re dumb, otherwise, my Balance Value would soon be zero, having a low level is so unfair...”

Hearing this, Porthos opened his mouth, coughed up another mouthful of blood, and then everything went black.

Xiangzi ransacked the musketeer’s body, finding no drops whatsoever, feeling a bit disappointed. He stood up, sheathed his sword, patted the snow off his body, muttering: ”Swordsmanship isn’t as good as mine, magic isn’t as good as mine, why does the person seek such unreliable people...”

The snowstorm gradually intensified.

The white snow almost obscured everyone’s vision.

At this time, Yin Shi also sensed something was wrong, Porthos’ name dimmed in the communication channel, marking the third loss since the start of the battle, along with the heavily injured priest, surpassing their highest record since founding.

He vaguely felt there might be some error in Dark Fairy Tale’s judgment, this so-called ’Free Adventure Group’ seemed not as simple as they had previously imagined.

Thinking about it, he suddenly paused, vaguely recalling the female knight he saw in the snowstorm—feeling she seemed familiar, like he had seen her somewhere, but in a rush, he couldn’t recall who she was.

His chaotic thoughts disrupted his spells, the Ice Puppet wasn’t a match for the gigantic Construct, steadily retreating.

Through the cold winds came the distant orders of the knights, and the Dulun City Guards were finally ready to attack, stabilizing his confidence slightly. With their numerical advantage, if they couldn’t defeat a Free Adventure Group backed by the Dulun City Guards, that would be absurd.

They were, after all, members of the Ragnarok branch’s Elite Corps.

”There’s something wrong with this snowstorm,” Dark Fairy Tale’s voice also came through the communication channel, ”the wind and snow brought by the Explosive Crossbow Bolts haven’t stopped until now, which feels like a spell effect.”

The opponent asked others in the communication channel: ”Blood Wings, can you dispel this snowstorm?”

Blood Wings shook his head vigorously: ”An Elementalist doesn’t have such spells.”

”Yin Shi?”

Yin Shi was speechless, the Water-Air System Elementalist couldn’t create such an effect, what could he, a Magic Guided Conductor, possibly do? Yet, the snowstorm indeed had some problems, seemingly only swirling around this platform, hindering their vision.
