Pillar of Yita

The communication channel was dead silent.

No one spoke; it seemed like people hadn’t recovered from the shock of those two names suddenly dimming on the contact list.

Blood Wings was cautiously retreating, listening to the crunch of his uneven steps in the snow, mingling with the howling North Wind sweeping by his ears. The opponent’s Elementalist suddenly stopped attacking, and Blood Wings felt his face flush slightly, but luckily no one had witnessed the previous scene.

He had lost to an Elementalist who could only cast first-circle spells—that left him feeling both ashamed and panic-stricken, an indescribable sensation. He had exerted his full strength, but he just couldn’t catch up, the opponent always completed the spells a moment sooner than he could.

The absolute disparity in ability left him almost despairing, while he was still summoning an Elemental Crystal, the opponent’s spell had already arrived before him. So enraged, he almost used a Super-Magic Technique, only to futilely realize that even if he cast instant spells, it would at best be a tie with the opponent.

And that mana consumption wasn’t something he could sustain—

Especially with a Combat Artisan supporting the opponent from behind.

This was absolute disparity.

Blood Wings couldn’t help but recall everything from his time at the trainee camp. In the presence of real geniuses, his little tricks were nothing. He even knew where those people ended up.

Unlike them, those people ultimately aimed for the Youth Training Camp of the guild, or even the Second World.

”Just you wait...” Blood Wings felt a bitter sensation in his heart, but he understood he still had a Level advantage. If someone could cover for him for a moment, he might still defeat the opponent with a high-level spell.

Yet, when he tried to locate the others, all he saw was white amidst the snowstorm.

Everything seemed to have vanished, even the direction of the platform was lost.

”What the hell is this cursed wind...”

Blood Wings certainly realized something was wrong, as an Elementalist with a natural sensitivity to ice and magic, he seemed to hear a voice hidden within the magic power of the North Wind.

It was a girl’s voice; an open book, loudly chanting within the North Wind, praising the Winter Wind in the realm of nature—inhabiting the icy Domain, the wind roared, low temperatures embraced, and the steps of the North Wind deity were heavy, carrying the divine strength to erase all.

Yet beneath the ice and snow, new strength was being nurtured.

A clear child’s cry pierced through the cold wind: ”Winter Wind, Anstali Great Glacier—”

Blood Wings heard a crisp crack of ice and felt dizzy, as if the snow had split open, and a giant ice spike grew from below, forming a claw that trapped him within.

The Elementalist lost his footing and crashed into the ice prison, immediately bleeding from the head.

Blood Wings understood what it was; it was the Domain of the Natural Historian—Chapter of Severe Winter, Anstali Great Glacier, scarcely seen by anyone, yet they experienced it firsthand.

He almost cried; did the Free Adventure Groups even have Natural Historians these days? What were elite corps of grand guilds like them even needed for?

Panicking and at a loss, Blood Wings neurotically grabbed a Crystal and shouted loudly, ”Ville, where are you?” Clearly under the icy and snowy weather, he was nervous enough to break into a sweat, mixing sweat and blood flow together.

Then freezing into ice.

Though in his heart, he knew the remaining Iron Guard in the team couldn’t be far from the Priest, and no one would come to protect him. At this moment, he hated the Dark Fairy Tale to death for leaving him alone at the back.

If not for that, he might still have the strength to fight.

But did he really have the strength to fight?

Blood Wings hesitated slightly. In this sudden skirmish, they couldn’t even determine the opponent’s location, having lost nearly half their numbers already.

This reminded him of a past training battle with the Silver Forest Spear Youth Training Group. That too was a one-sided combat, less brutal than this current one. But their opponents then were the future battalion reserve of Silver Forest Spear, and now?

The communication channel transmitted warrior Ville’s fragmented voice, ”Blood Wings, behind you...”

Upon hearing this, Blood Wings suddenly felt a foreboding sensation.

He turned around and, indeed, saw a shadow appearing outside the ice prison, not far from himself—it was a massive Construct Knight, standing motionless in the blizzard, holding a long spear.

A fully enclosed helmet, two golden glows peering down quietly at him.

Blood Wings felt his blood solidify at that moment, teeth chattering; he had died once in past missions, so he naturally knew the taste. The Elementalist felt full of despair, momentarily forgetting how to cast all his spells.

”Blood Wings...” But the voice of Dark Fairy Tale came through. As the Commander, he retained some calm: ”Calm down, remember the three rules against Flexible Constructs...”

”Three rules against Flexible Constructs...” Blood Wings suddenly snapped back. After the Stargate, in decades of development, grand guilds with historic legacies like Silver Weslan and Rose Cross Army all had their own training tutorials for newcomers.

These tutorials included various unique skills, passed down through generations of older Chosen ones. Some would gradually fade out, but others became classics.
